What an absolutely beautiful and authentically Japanese apartment. We had the BEST time staying here. The onsen inside and out were perfect to soak your tired feet after a long day of sightseeing. And the reception staff were so helpful arranging massages at a close by establishment for us over the phone - as we don’t speak much Japanese. So many experiences and food within walking distance, and trains were close and easy to use with Apple Maps and an electronic suica card. Couldn’t have been happier. Honestly.
Absolutely nothing. Probably best for families with children over 8. Ours were 12, and loved the traditional beds on the floor.

We loved the home’s comfort and modern amenities. The bedding, furniture, baths x 2 and proximity to everything was fabulous
These were not major issue but good to note -
There is no cooking other than boiling water and the stairs are steep. Be sure to ask for a clothes rack to dry things if you don’t want to use the dryer

The location was great in a very walkable neighborhood full of eateries and close to a number of Kyoto attractions. In addition, the traditional home is very nicely outfitted with modern amenities. Lastly, the on-site staff were very attentive, responsive and gracious. We loved meeting and interacting with Yusuke who helped to make our trip memorable and fun. We'd love to stay here again on our next trip to Kyoto!
Nothing really - we really enjoyed our stay here.

"Sehr schönes, altes Haus über 2 Etagen in Kyoto, sehr gut gelegen, mitten im Zentrum, dennoch sehr ruhig. Typisch japanische Ausstattung mit Tatamimatten und Futons im Obergeschoss (alle vier Personen..."
