Spent a week at Poseidon House after travelling around Sabah for 10 days. We were looking for relaxation and found it with the beautiful pool and awesome views looking out across the bay. The house is immaculate and has everything you need to stay and chill or to get out and enjoy the sea and surrounding area. The house is built and cleverly positioned for shade and sun and to catch breezes day and night. The location of the house is completely private and secure. Do not miss the night sky, with no light pollution, the Milky Way lights up the whole vista of the sea and the islands beyond. The nearest town of Kudat is 10 minutes’ drive away and there is a wide selection of very good value restaurants so that you do not need to cook. Kudat also has markets for vegetables, locally produced food, fresh caught seafood and small supermarkets. We found everyone welcoming and helpful, smiles everywhere. We loved Sabah and will return with friends and family. We travelled around but next time will use Poseidon House as our base as connections by road and cheap airfares are excellent. Finally our hosts were on hand to help us with every enquiry, with recommendations and insights on the area. They are passionate about their home and conserving the natural resources of this beautiful part of the world. Equally they were passionate about ensuring that Poseidon House was perfect for our holiday, and it was. Thank you so very much Fran and Ray!

We had an amazing two weeks at Poseidon house. Before we got there Ray and Fran were really helpful answering our questions and advising us on planning our trip. Whilst we were there they answered any questions we had quickly by email. The house is beautiful and confortable with everything we could need. The pool was incredible, as were the views. There were lovely places close buy and everyone was really friendly. The highlight for us was the reef on our doorstep. We spent most days swimming there and saw loads of amazing fish, coral and even a turtle. It was such a relaxing trip and I would recommend it to anyone. Our kids are 6 and 9 and they loved it too

Staying the Poseidon house for three days was the most leisure and free time in our Sabah holiday. The house would definitely enrich your imagination for a private villa which is absolutely quite only with some natural sound from bird, sea wave and puppies. The three dogs are adorable and very close to the guest, I think maybe the owner has taught them to protect guests so they always follow you and being around especially when you go down to the beach. The villa build on two huge stones and also maintain the original shape of the stone so you can see the edge is still in the bedrooms. It's been well designed with very art atmosphere by artificial antique and paintings in each room. I loved backstroke in the pool at the night with stars above. The villa was fully equipped so you just need to bring some food to there. The only inconvenient of the villa is the steep slope from the main gate to the house, every time we felt very nervous to drive and almost slipped down once. Overall it's out of our imagination with such beautiful house, sea, pool and dog. It's worth to drive 3 hours from KK and remember to bring enough food when you come.

There are just not enough words to describe how amazing the House, its Location, the Area and the hospitality from Fran and Ann are! We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at Poseidon House - its a shame it was only two weeks because we could have stayed quite happily for a lot longer! Upon arrival we found the house spotlessly clean (which was maintained throughout our stay by Fran and Ann), the pictures on the website are only a taster of what awaits you here - the house is massive and the rooms beautiful, but, if, like us, you have good weather most of the time you'll want to be outside enjoying the views from all the balconies - over the deep blue sea or over the unspoilt jungle - or cooling off in the lovely pool! Outstanding! The service from Fran & Ann throughout our stay was top quality - from cooking, cleaning, washing, and giving needed direction and information. Swimming or Kayaking in the sea is great fun - and with coral so close to the shore meant that Snorkling was really good - even though Fran kept saying it was too cloudy! :) During our stay we used the vehicle (don't be worried about driving on these roads - its a joy not to be worried about traffic jams, road rage, fuel costs!) and visited the Tip of Borneo, Honey Farm, Dong Factory, Mt Kinabalu, Tea Plantation etc and also travelled through the island around to Sandakan - and although its a long way (took around 7 hours) - I would highly recommend it as it allows you to see more beautiful scenery, wildlife and experience the traditional rural villages. If you're still planning your trip to Borneo - I would also highly recommend timing your start / end to coincide with flying to / from Kudat airstrip (5 mins from the house) - the plane is only small - but we did this and it was absolutely amazing and so much fun - an aerial view of Borneo for around 20GBP! We would definitely recommend this house - and would definitely look at returning at some future point. Many thanks!

After a 7 week world wide teaching venture this Villa was just what I needed. Totally stunning. The Hospitality team Fran and Ann offer better service than any 5 star hotel I have ever stayed in. They provided quality food and most important information and support during my visit. The place is massive and clean and so peaceful. The private beach provides a relaxing haven. The Tip of Borneo and the local shopping trip offers a great day out . The local shopping markets are a must to buy local quality food and meet with the friendly locals. Poseidon House is so peaceful. For those wanting total relax, sunshine, great pool and facilities then look no where else, this is the place. I would recommend it for families, groups and even Individuals looking for that something a bit special.

We spent a week in Poseidon house with our 3 children (11, 8 and 5 years old). The welcome by the team on site is very friendly and efficient. The house is lovely and very well equipped. The rooms are large and all equipped with air conditioning and also ceiling fans. The pool is very nice and we play well with children! The situation of the house is incredible, in the heart of the jungle and the sea with great views! Kayaks are diposition and we sailed together, it was great, we saw flying fish and a stingray. Another day we do snorkling down the house and saw beautiful corals and fish in green belt. We loved this place because the house is really comfortable and the area is very beautiful, wild and very welcoming Malaysian. In the town of Kudat there are very few tourists and friendly people. We ate in restaurants and buy very good fruit and vegetables at the market! We also visited the area by car very easily as the roads are in very good condition. You just learn to drive on the left (for us French!).

We stayed at the Poseidon house for a week over Christmas with two kids and had a fantastic time. The house is in a truly unique setting, no neighbours, no camp site, no disco, just jungle and passing eagles, hornbills and, on moonless nights, a perfect view of Orion's belt and Saturn. The staff was very nice and access to very cheap freshly fished local seafood grilled to perfection in the evening (along with a few beers) made it a very special holiday. Would definitely go again, especially to write (and sleep). Lovely local people too, perfectly safe.

We spent 9 days in Poseidon House in July/August and had the most memorable holiday. We have travelled to various places in the world but nothing compared to the beauty of Borneo and Poseidon House. The house is magnificent and was the perfect place to relax and spend time together as a family. Anne and Sirena were wonderful and really looked after us and Sabah and Sirena's brother were so helpful and friendly. We all loved Ray's paintings and in fact, none of us wanted to come home! Our children had an experience that will stay with them for the rest of their lives and we will definitely return at some stage in the future. Borneo really is a hidden paradise and Poseidon house is the perfect place to stay to make your holiday really special.
