Great location. Property beautifully clean and comfortable

Nothing. A little noise for the pub opposite on Saturday evening but wouldn’t put me off staying again

Right in town centre. Fantastic shower pressure. Dishwasher. Spacious lounge.

Parking in peak season is an issue. Car parks down the road can be full and you can end up driving around the one way system looking and waiting for a park. There is a parking permit provided with accommodation for certain car parks so if you can find a park you don’t have to pay at these car parks. Accommodation up a sharp driveway so need to be able to carry your luggage from down the street. The accommodation is situated right across the road from a pub and two further pubs just down the road. Be aware there is loud music long into the night then you get to hear all the people leaving the pubs and yelling etc on their way down the street. Take ear plugs if you are bothered by night time noise and want sleep before 3am. There is a washing machine and dryer in a shared space two doors down but you have to pay for using them. Take pound coins to activate the switch board that turns machine on.

A nice clean property with great facilities. Great open fireplace for lighting smokeless fuel. Jacuzzi bath was good. Spacious open-plan kitchen/lounge. Nice views from the windows. Very clear and organised guest book.

Communication from owner was poor, as the day before we arrived at the property we asked about if we can actively use the fireplace. Booking.com contacted the owner on our behalf, but the owner didn't reply to us to answer our question, even after the whole stay. Photo of waterside on the ad is misleading. To someone who has never been there before, it appears on the photos to be apart of the property. However, that waterside photo was of elsewhere in the lake district. The outside of the property is very limited in beauty and amongst a set of other flats and apartments. Coin machine of laundry room was not working, so I had to hand wash the laundry and dry in the property...Not good considering the cost of staying. Noisy as hell on the street at night. People coming from the pubs. Sleeping is challenging there unfortunately. Operating the TV is like trying to solve a damn Rubik's cube. No regular channels like BBC1, ITV etc, just a bunch of random weird low budget channels. Thank god I brought my PS4 - which has YouTube and Netflix apps on it, otherwise the Rubik's cube TV's offerings would have been torture. I want to make clear though that this was still a nice vacation and the property is pleasant. Overall I do recommend it, and especially for people who want to be in the heart of Ambleside. But also I advise the owner to select the ad photos more carefully, or at least add sub-headings to them if they are not a photo of the property (Eg, the waterside photo is not part of the property).

Nothing... everything was lovely

The location was great! It was right in the middle of Ambleside. It provided everything we needed and information about each appliance, which was very handy. Lovely place to stay definitely would recommend it.

Very convenient location, easy access to shops, restaurants and the main bus stop. Comfortable bed, well-stocked cottage. Wifi very welcome.

In the summer with windows open, the pub across the street could be a source of annoyance. Oddly, there were no drinking glasses or wine glasses (but otherwise a well supplied kitchen). Duvet way too heavy (and had to go!), but this is a personal preference I suppose.
