Hotel IL Verde Kyoto

Good facilities, generous with happy hour drinks everyday and staff mostly spoke in english.

Location was good as it was close to kyoto station but not as close to the tourist sites.

Stayed for 4 nights. Good room, great staff, convenient place in the city.

Air conditioning filters have never been cleaned before. Happy hour means 1 hour in the evening you can come to the lobby to make yourself a drink from some placed bottles on the counter, so you will be making them yourself (we knew how to make cocktails so not bad)😀 Shower as in all places in Japan has lower ceiling (FYI for tall people). Breakfast is very minimal. If you are used to European hotels then this will be very limited. Cold scrambled eggs if lucky (7:30am even). It’s nice to have breakfast in the morning but don’t expect a lot to select from.

The main area downstairs is really nice, you can use the tables, microwave, hot drinks and soft drinks all day for free. The one hour happy hour is a nice touch! The staff were always friendly. Aircon is good!

We found the pillows really hard. There is a charge if you wanted extra towels, we found this a bit odd especially as they would only clean our room once during a 5 day stay. For the standard this hotel gives, it was unexpected. 1000¥ seems a bit steep.

Below average location and grumpy staffs.

Grumpy staffs, most of the front desk (mostly non Japanese) are very grumpy and they do not greet like Japanese.
