This was a wonderful place for our children and grandchildren to spend a week together. The house is just marvelous, and the pool, during that very hot week, was a god send. The grandchildren especially looked forward to each afternoon when they could spend all their free time swimming and splashing. Thanks to ur hostess's very helpful notes, we also enjoyed our daily walks down the hill to a marvelous bakery for fresh croissants and coffee (and time with their chickens).

Upon arrival we were thrilled to find that the villa and surrounding grounds were exactly as described. A well equipped kitchen, inviting living room, air conditioned large bedrooms (all with en-suite bathrooms), heated private pool, and gorgeous grounds made for a wonderful week in The Dordogne. We enjoyed the tastefully decorated house which had comfortable seating areas inside and out. Farah, the owner and her property manager provided excellent detailed information about the property’s many fine attributes. All enjoyed our time together as we explored various towns and restaurants recommended by Farah. We looked forward to returning each night to our grand accommodations. Combe-Claire: Something for Everyone I have just returned from the most enjoyable family holiday ever. In all we were 5 adults and 5 children ranging from the ages of 2 to 75 and there was definitely something for all of us at Combe-Claire. The grown ups had the pleasure of watching the little ones enjoying the freedom of playing safely in the garden and pool area while we relaxed in this beautifully furnished, spacious and well equipped house. From the moment I made the booking Farah, the owner, was extremely helpful and so keen to make sure all would be as we wanted. On arrival Rosemary, the housekeeper, took over making sure we were comfortable and 'at home'. The information she passed on was very useful for the days when we were able to drag the children and certain grown ups away from the pool in order to find fun things to do elsewhere. There were no shortages of these and all within 15 to 30 minutes by car. Just one disappointment - one week wasn't long enough to fit in all there was on offer and on arrival back in the UK one of my family immediately booked a two week stay in Combe-Claire for next year. What more can I say? That in itself says it all!

Combe-Claire is an excellent place to unwind, rest and enjoy a superb break in the Dordogne. The photos of the house build an expectation that is actually surpassed by the reality! The house is wonderfully light and airy with all the facilities you could want and more. There was nothing we wanted that we could not find - even down to a pizza wheel! The gas BBQ is excellent and saves so much time and energy. The second fridge/freezer is a very useful addition. The beds are among the most comfortable we have ever had when staying away from home and everything is spotlessly clean when you arrive. The heated pool, comfortable loungers and the superb views make it diffcult to leave the property but it is worth exploring the local area. The Saturday market in Sarlat sells everything (and Sarlet is a wonderful place to wander for a morning) but we enjoyed the Wednesday market in Montignac at least as much. There are also a numbe of family friendly restaurants there including a lovely little pizzeria down by the river. The bicyles provided allow you to explore the local country lanes (and hills!). For a full days exploring try following the Dordonge - in either direction - or go to Rocamadour which is truly as spectaular as they claim (if a bit overrun with tourists). A property we would recommend to anyone without hesitation!
