We had a nice little overnight. The host was a gentleman who lovingly refers to himself as Grandpa. He puts his heart and soul into running his property. If you're into hiking and want to connect with a guy who has deep roots to the area and the hiking community this is the place for you!

Everything about this place simply nostalgic. Staying here reminded me of a car trip from the 70's. Staying at a little place along the way~

I grew up in this area and must have been past this place a thousand times when I was young and thought nothing of it. I have been in South Jersey for almost 30 years now and was visiting with my sisters for my birthday so my husband and I wanted a place to stay near Bear Mountain Park. I found this, read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. We were so glad we did. It is a great 100 year old motel that has been well maintained and super clean. We checked in with Grandpa who showed us to our room and gave us a quick run down of everything we needed. Even told us about a great place to grab a quick breakfast (it just so happened we ran into Grandpa the next morning at that very place). Long story short, if you are looking for a cozy and clean place to stay with a friendly and knowledgeable host, this is the place for you! We will be back!

It is a great location to stay at for easy access to West Point. It has been remodeled since we stayed here in fall 2021 and looks great inside.

Very clean, cozy room. Owner is informative, friendly and chatty. Very pleasant stay. Appalachian Trail hikers make this motel a regular stop, so interesting people to meet. Short walking distance to most of the restaurants in town. Will stay there again if I'm in the area.

Property was as listed, and had all the basic essentials: towels, bar soap, shampoo, and conditioner – including a charging block/alarm clock. We were greeted by Grandpa who was gardening when we arrived. He was exceptionally warm, welcoming, and hospitable. Communication was great, and he was more than happy to offer recommendations for the area, from hikes to food to towns to visit. He even gave us vouchers for free sundaes at a local ice cream shop a 5 minute drive away! Hoping to be back in the Bear Mountain area soon, and would not hesitate to stay at the Bear Mountain Bridge Motel again!

My wife and I stayed one night on our drive home from vacation. It was fun to stay in a historic motel and hear about the adventures of Appalachian Trail hikers that have passed through the motel.

Loved the retro room!!! Clean, excellent bed, great owner/Grandpa. Easy access to West Point which is why we were there; less then 5 miles, direct to WP.

A small, no frills place to get a night's rest. The room was clean and the host could not have been nicer, offering to let us garage our motorcycles to avoid them being rained on. Places to eat within a 10 minute walk/couple minutes drive, and a filling station right nearby. Caution to light sleepers, as with most motels, the proximity to a busy road and the associated road noise.

Very nice and clean!! Just what we needed for a 1 night stay.

This little motel is just as pictured....Well kept, and cute as all heck! Close to the road, but the noise didn't bother us a bit. We loved how close it was to the trail race we did in Bear Mountain. Super close proximity to Beacon, Cold Spring, etc, as well as to Bear Mountain hiking. Will def be back d/t great location, cleanliness, as well as friendly owner :)

It is nothing fancy. Clean but very small and could use some updating. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep it is fine. Owners were very helpful with all of our requests.

I was very excited about supporting a family-owned business, and had wonderful communications with the owner leading up to my check-in. Because they had recently acquired the property, I expected it would be in good condition and thoroughly cleaned. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in the room and had move to another hotel right away. The biggest issue was the residual smoke from years of smoking in the rooms. Although the rooms are now “non-smoking,” smoke odor won't dissipate without deep cleaning the room and all furnishings, painting the room, and replacing the wallpaper and carpet. I'm not just sensitive to smoke, but allergic to it, and within minutes I had a negative reaction. There were other issues which also need to be addressed. The tilt wand in the bathroom was broken so I had to turn each blind up for privacy, and when I did that, I could feel a thick layer of dust on the blinds. There was also thick dust on the floorboard heater. And the carpet, though it may have been vacuumed, was grimy and worn. I wouldn't have been comfortable walking barefoot on the carpet. I let the owner know of these issues in writing the same date that I checked in and out, but didn’t receive a response from her until a week later.

Place is modest and cozy. The rooms are very clean. From check in we felt welcomed until the moment we left. Would stay here again if back in the area.

I had some activities to attend at West Point, and found this delightful place to stay in Fort Montgomery, just three miles from Thayer Gate. Kristen and her parents were wonderful hosts and the room had everything that any hotel room offers only at a very affordable price. I will definitely be back!

This motel was everything I hoped for!! The owner and her family are so delightful and helpful. Though we only interacted briefly in my short stay they were so accommodating and friendly. The pictures on this listing of the rooms and exterior are an accurate representation of the lodging you will receive and they are so cozy and comfortable. The accommodations are simple, but with such beautiful exteriors! Also it is a plus that they are right across the street from an affordable and tasty bagel shop which made breakfast easy and the barbecue place down the road was within walking distance (you can see it from the driveway of the motel) and was also affordable and had decent barbecue and good service! Overall a wonderful stay, I will definitely be stopping here next time I am driving through!
