If only we could give this property more than five stars....
As two families, we have holidayed in Kalkan three times previously - but this was our first stay at Villa Meltem. It certainly won’t be our last.
We can not recommend this villa highly enough. The owners were so helpful prior to our holiday, answered questions and gave us transfer advice. We arrived late at night to a spotlessly clean house and a very welcome “welcome pack” - thank you!
The villa itself is spectacular. A wonderful luxurious mix of modern but with a Turkish feel. Modern, well equipped kitchen, quirky split level seating areas, a roof terrace to die for, a bath with a view (and great WiFi and table tennis for happy teenagers!) It really is very well equipped with everything you need and more.
The outside area is the best we have experienced in (many trips) to Turkey. Large space with plenty of comfortable seating , sunny all day, fabulous views and a wonderful large pool. A daily visit from the pool cleaner means it is immaculate.
If you’ve been to Kalkan before, you’d be hard pressed to get a better villa which isn’t too far from town, and still has the uninterrupted view. If you haven’t been to Kalkan before - GO! Such a hidden Turkish treasure and Villa Meltem is a great base to explore and relax. The information folder at the villa is invaluable and the management company can also offer advice, and were also great when we had any queries.
Thank you to the owners for allowing us to stay at your wonderful villa. Such a special place.

Best views over Kalkan in nice villa
We have been 5th time in Kalkan, first time in Villa Meltem, and we loved it! The house is even better than described/ shown on photos. Very good location and spectacular views from every room. Very good "holiday care" from Roger! Thank you very much for making a great family holiday possible!

Villa Meltem is beautifully designed and equipped. Every room and space has been carefully considered and it shows. From the poolside to the roof terrace every area is a pleasure to be in. Our family of 5 had a fantastic week in Kalkan. Len was really helpful pre arrival with advice about transfers etc and the property manager was simple to get hold of, if needed, once in Turkey. We found from the villa into town was an easy 10-15 minute walk downhill and a cheap taxi ride back at the end of the evening. Kalkan itself is not too touristy and everyone seemed genuinely friendly. We can't wait to return!

Perfect- highly recommended.
Extremely well positioned and well appointed villa.
Beautifully maintained and spotless both inside and out. The cleaners and garden/ pool lady do an outstanding job.
All bedrooms are excellent so no one “ draws a short straw”.
Len responded promptly to any queries pre departure and the manager, Roger, was exceptional when dealing with one or two minor issues whilst we were in situ.
There is a sweet, gentle old dog who spends a lot of his day seeking shade around the property. Please look after him - we left food bowls and food,!!!

Fabulous
We can highly recommend this lovely villa. It is fabulous. Supetb views. Spacious accommodation inside and out with high quality fittings and furniture. Very clean, well maintained and comfortable. Quiet location yet close to large choice of restaurants. Kalkan is a great holiday town and we were warmly welcomed by the friendly locals. Our first visit to Turkey but already planning our return to Villa Meltem.

Superb accommodation, great facilities and great location
We were guests at the property for a week in August. Great to have a water machine and bottled water delivery. Internet telly worked a treat for the Olympics. The roof terrace was a super place for early evening drinks prior to wandering in to the old town to one of the hundreds of rooftop restaurants. After fantastic meals and more drinks we tended to opt for the £3 taxi to get us home. Just laziness in the heat.
Meltem is very well appointed and every comfort was taken care of. Too hot to take advantage of the table tennis table. Read loads of books, and just chilled out for the whole time. Wonderful place

We have stayed in many Villa's and Villa Meltem is definitely up there with the best. It is well appointed, all fixtures and fittings are of a high standard and the views of the Town and bay from the rooftop terrace and the many balconies are breathtaking. The walk to and from the town centre includes a number of steep hills but taxi's are numerous and very cheap if you are not feeling particularly energetic.
We were all very impressed by Kalkan, with its relaxed sophisticated atmosphere and numerous restaurants and cafe's it felt more like a Cote D'azure resort than Turkey.
Overall summary, superb villa in a great resort making a superb family holiday.

Beautifully appointed villa, fabulous views
Lovely property over 4 floors. Very nicely decorated and appointed with modern appliances. Bedrooms all have nice bathrooms and balconys. Beautiful views from both pool area and balcony.
15 minute walk into town, and to local bakery and shops. Definitely need local taxi service!
Nice large fridge/freezer on ground floor - but long way to take ice to top floor to watch sun set!
Owners really helpful as was Roger in Kalkan.
Definitely will return - only disappointment was TV reception (children and sport to escape heat).
Highly recommend
Thanks to Len and Geraldine for allowing us to share in their beautiful home x

Amazing
If you are considering staying in Kalkan you are making an excellent choice. The town is charming and the locals couldn't be more friendly. There are so many restaurants all serving good quality food it is hard to choose but our favourites were: Doy Doy, Kaptan, Alternatif, Moussaka and Nur.
So now you are trying to decide which villa to book. Well I think you would find it hard to beat Villa Meltem!
The communication from Len (the owner) is brilliant from first enquiry to return home. Roger met us at the villa to show us around and answer any questions and is on hand if you need anything.
The villa itself is wonderful, exceptionally clean and very well equipped. The pool is a great temperature and the views from all the rooms and outdoor areas are outstanding. The roof terrace is fantastic and everyone enjoyed the table tennis in the basement. The only thing I would say is a couple of fans would be welcome in the table tennis room but other than that I could not fault anything about Villa Meltem.
We have stayed at many very nice villas around the world over the years but Villa Meltem ticks all the boxes. Many villas say they provide beach towels but when you arrive they are old and thin so we still took our own but at Villa Meltem even the beach towels provided were lovely quality, thick and clean so no need to waste space in your luggage!
A trip to Oludeniz beach was great the teenagers went parasailing and went out on the flatbed and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We also went to Saklikent Gorge and as well as walking through the gorge went rafting and had a mud bath!
We would highly recommend Villa Meltem and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

Perfect Location
Villa Meltem is a fantastic property with all the equipment you would ever need for your holiday. It's location must be one of the best in Kalkan, offering stunning views whilst being only a 10min walk to the towns bars and restaurants. Len the owner and Roger the property manager were extremely helpful, making for a hassle free stay. Would highly recommend Villa Meltem to anyone thinking of holidaying in Kalkan

The ultimate villa (7 stars)
It's taken me a little while to review Villa Meltem (sorry) but my head is back in Meltem space again as we count down to our second visit to this remarkable, luxury Villa. I'm not going to waste my characters on Kalkan - suffice to say it's the perfect destination for discerning families and couples. Where do I start? Lets start with the location - couldn't be better, I agree with Len, it's a steep climb for the last few metres but my 4,7 and 9 year old managed it with ease. I guess it's like anything the elevated position of the villa gives you breathtaking views from every bedroom and the olympic proportions of the roof terrace are world-class (recently spent 5 nights in Taormina, Sicily and the views didn't compete, in fact I even showed a Canadian couple the views from Villa Meltem when we were talking about the merits of Turkey). We booked the same two weeks in August 2015 within 12 hours of landing back in the UK last year, I've never done that but I'm so glad I did. I'm incredibly fussy, I'm the sort of person (annoyingly) that moves tables 3 times in a restaurant until I'm happy, I'm that picky! So the Villa… HUGE, but not so huge that it feels cavernous, it has lovely little characterful spaces, so many in fact that every member of my 5-strong family found their perfect spot. My youngest daughter loved the lounging/reading area - she pretty much made it her den. My son loved the table tennis room and spent hours pink ponging back and forth and my eldest daughter loved chilling out on her balcony with wifi. Every element of the villa is an incredibly high standard - the owners even agreed to supply a garlic press and oven gloves for this year - but that was my ONLY fault. The pool is incredible with the lovely covered seating area - especially with the built in gin & tonic hatch! The bedrooms and all the en suites are a high standard - spotless and spacious - the sort of standard you'd expect in a 5 star hotel. There's no question that this Villa is worthy of the price tag - yes, you could pay a little less in Kalkan, but I think these owners have got it spot on. The perfect retreat for couples who want to share a villa and still have their own space, or like us a busy family with varying needs - my husband loved the reliable wifi as it allowed us to stream napster and link to our bluetooth speaker near the pool. It's a small consideration but even the local area information was useful. Love it… Villa perfection.

First class villa
Six of us arrived very late on Monday 4 August to be met at the villa by Rodger. He gave us a warm welcome and showed us round the villa and he also provided a few essentials like milk, cheese, jam, eggs and fruit juice. The villa is in a superb location with wonderful views over the bay, looking down on Kalkan. The place is stocked with everything you need and it's spotless. It's only about eight minutes walk into town and there you have everything you could possibly need for your holiday, dozens of restaurants catering for all tastes, traditional cafes and modern, sophisticated bars, travel agents to book excursions, supermarkets, barbers (men must experience a Turkish shave) and shops selling gifts and the famous genuine fakes. After a day out at Saklikent Gorge or doing a moonlight cruise Villa Meltem is a wonderfully spacious place to come home to. Having a late night drink on the roof terrace and watching the occasional fireworks from the harbour was very memorable. We all had a fantastic time in Kalkan and a huge part of our enjoyment was the villa and of course, it's large private pool. Many thanks to Geraldine and Len for all their help in arranging transfers and responding so promptly to our emailed questions before hand about the villa and Kalkan.

A perfect holiday!
We stayed at Meltem for the first two weeks in June 2014. The weather was perfect after a couple of very windy unsettled days at the start.
We were not disappointed when we arrived at Meltem. The villa was spotless, bright and spacious and the new kitchen, table tennis in the basement and the new additional bedroom on the roof were all superb updates. The pool area and gardens are lovely. There was a great deal of information in the villa for planning days out and choosing restaurants.
Meltem is in the perfect location for a quiet holiday but near enough to walk down the hill to the main restaurants and shops. The problem is walking up again after a wonderful meal and a few drinks, however local taxis are always on hand if required !
Len, the owner was very informative and helpful when we made our booking and Roger form the local agency was extremely helpful and onhand if we had any queries .
We enjoyed some great days out visiting Sakilent Gorge and Fethiye for shopping as well as local Kalkan Thursday market which is an experience in itself .
We had a wonderful holiday in Meltem and would definitely revisit and would recommend for a superb holiday. Thank you.
