This was our first time in Wells and our first holiday with our husky Ava and it won't be the last. I will be booking the Lantern cottage again as everything was perfect - no complaints. Wells is an excellent location for anybody that has a dog as everywhere is geared up to accommodate. We spent 2-3 hours a day walking on the beach, which is excellent, then back in town for lunch. The Lantern cottage has a great location, very comfortable/clean and it was lovely to arrive to flowers/wine/cookies/dog treats. First class service.

Had a lovely time at the cottage very comfortable and a lovely welcome with homemade goodies waiting for us. Location is perfect and it felt like home form home. We will definitely stay again and recommend.

The house and location in relation to the harbour/town was perfect for our mixed aged family . Was surprised as quite a lot of road noise at times . Garden brilliant too . Get to beach car park early !! Gets full quickly and it’s a long walk from the other car park ( approx a mile ! )

Overall we had a lovely week in Wells. The cottage was well located and well equipped with off road parking and a great, child & dog friendly garden. We requested a cot and high chair which were great. In addition there was a great range of melamine children’s crockery. Drawbacks were as follows: 1. The place needs a really thorough clean - under beds & furniture, plus shower head in en-suite were particularly disgusting. 2. The beds and furniture in general were quite old and quite uncomfortable. 3. The blinds were thin and did not provide adequate blackout 4. There was a dog poo in the garden when we arrived. Despite its great location, i do not think we would rush back to stay at lantern cottage.
