Very comfortable home, nice appliances and artistic touches. But of course the views are everything. Whether outside on the deck, inside in the bedrooms, or just sitting at the kitchen table, the views are fantastic. Sunrises, sunsets, and eagles in between. Unforgettable.

Our stay was amazing. The home was well kept and clean. There was an issue with the electrical down stairs. A lot of lights and outlets were not workin - we did notified the owner. Other than that the stay was beyond what we expected. The views cannot be matched. We’re planing on coming back in a year or two and I will definitely look into staying here again.

Lauran and her home are truly amazing! She’s very responsive to messages and she cares about her guests and their experience!
The views are spectacular from inside and outside the home! We saw a bald eagle and Mt. Redoubt from the deck. Mosquitos were non existent as we were able to enjoy bbq’ing, socializing, and a nice fire in the back yard. Be sure to bring firewood!
Lauran has a lot covered: matches, binoculars, bear spray, even a Bluetooth speaker!
I’d definitely rent Lauran’s place again! Her home is located 10-15 min from Homer and is in a nice neighborhood. I always felt safe!

The Lookout exceeded our expectations! The house is so well stocked and equipped with everything you could need. Bedrooms are amazingly comfortable, black out blinds are truly appreciated!! The deck was such a great place to gather and relax. The grounds were beautifully maintained and bursting with colors of the season and last but of course not last, the views were magnificent!! On a clear day we could see 5 volcanoes!! Great location close to Homer and the spit but far enough away from all the distractions. The Lookout is a magical location, we will cherish those memories forever.

Did not disappoint! Have done lots of VRBOs and this one was great! Loved the quietness and views, lots of extras for convenience from BBQ to ice cooler to cooking spices- had everything we needed to come and relax and cook our fresh caught fish after a long day on the water

Spectacular Views, Great home
This was a very nice home on a bluff with amazing views of Cook Inlet. The house was spotlessly clean, the king beds were very comfortable with great sheets and pillows, and there was plentiful hot water and good water pressure. The washer and dryer worked great. A clarification: This house is definitely not "2 minutes from Homer". It is 7.5 miles (15 minutes by car) to Homer Brewing Company in town (go there!), and 11.5 miles (20 minutes by car) to the Salty Dawg. Not an issue for us, but if you really want a place 2 minutes to town, this isn't it. The views across the sound are great, but because of the dense plant growth all around, you can't see the bluff or the beach (you don't really get a sense that you are on top of a cliff). Maybe the aerial/drone photos gave us slightly different expectations. Overall, a great place to stay and we would stay again. We recommend this to others.

Friends Getaway
This property is exactly as listed and even more beautiful. Our group of three couples stayed for two nights. We’d wished we’d had more time in Homer. We enjoyed dinner and shopping at the Spit and then hiked the Diamond Trail which we walked to from the property. Unfortunately the neighbors dog followed us all the way to the highway so even though the dogs are sweet they were a nuisance so I’d suggest either driving to the trail or find a way to inform the neighbor ahead of time so the dogs are put away. Everything we needed was at the property. Lots of dishes, utensils and anything needed to make meals. There was also binoculars and a fishing pole available to use. The views were amazing. I’d highly recommend this place and hope to return.

Nice house, but not what was expected
We enjoyed the home, but had concerns with some of the amenities. Due to the unseasonably hot summer the house was very difficult to keep ventilated. There was no screens in the windows so when opening we had to be extra cautious with the kiddos, and could not keep the bugs out. All the flowering trees attracted bees so it was a challenge. Also, the neighbors dogs jumped in and out of the downstairs windows. We would rate the cleanliness at a two as there were bugs in all the window sills and cobwebs throughout the upstairs.
The online description was misleading as it pertained to community involvement. We thought we would be much closer to the downtown area. The description stated it was 2 minutes away; it is more a 15 minute drive. Also, the picture shows a rocky beach where we thought we would have beach access, and sadly this was not the case.
Concluding thoughts, the house has beautiful views and maybe the above concerns would be different on a cold Alaskan day.

The Lookout - Homer AK
This is a beautiful vacation home perched overlooking the bay and mountain vistas of the Kenai peninsula.
Beautiful wrap around decks, and picture windows framing this beautiful vista, make it hard to leave.
This home has absolutely everything you could want in a vacation property, and the care of the owner shows in its excellent state of repair.
Again, the only negative was having to leave this slice of heaven and go home!

This location gives you a 270 degree view of the bay. The house itself was immaculately clean and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The best VRBO rental we've ever experienced.

Check-in was smooth & easy. The stay was very peaceful. We saw eagles, sandhill cranes & friendly neighborhood dogs. We watch fishing charters leaving & returning. View of mountains & volcanos is wonderful. Only unpleasant thing was the lawn service showed up around 4:30pm & stayed for a very noisy hour.

Great views, beautiful yard, nicely decorated and appointed retreat!
Everything inside and out looked as good or better than the photos. There was a lot of pretty green vegetation around the house, and a nice lawn, which I guess was not present when the photos were taken. We requested a change of beds (two twins instead of a king) in one of the rooms, and everything was perfect upon check-in. Beds were comfy, towels were plentiful, the kitchen had everything we needed. The yard has a nice fire pit which we used for s'mores while we watched the stunning sunset. The deck is nice, but my only caveat is that the "railing" is an attractive but unsubstantial nautically themed net. I started leaning on it a bit when talking to someone below, and almost went over. I clearly was not paying close enough attention to what I was doing, but it might be a hazard to kids or others who are distracted. Since no one was hurt, it seemed like a minor point. We would definitely want to stay there again if we were visiting Homer!
