The house was clean and comfortable. It had everything there. We just brought food and drinks

It was perfect location for our family of both skiers and non-skiers - easy access to other areas of VT! The Lake Bomoseen pub was great for our one night out! We did not end up bringing dogs but great setup if you have them!

Comfy and clean! Our morning walks to the lake were perfect and being able to let the dogs out into a fenced in area was so convenient. Phil has the house set up with everything that we needed and more.

Great host! Had to everything we needed! And a super quiet neighborhood. Our dog loved it, too!

The house is as exactly as it is in the pictures and my dog Hadley lived the backyard. The kitchen had everything we needed and we cooked several meals. The wash and dryer was such a convenience and Phil was a responsive host and very nice. I couldn’t have asked for a better trip and visit with my kids. There is a lot to see and do in the area. Everyone of us said we wished we could stay longer on the day we left. If I get back to that area there is no doubt in my mind where I will stay!

My husband and I wanted to visit friends in Vermont, but we didn't want to leave our two Labs behind. This rental, with it's fenced in yard, was the perfect solution. Our host Phil was great. He was very communicative before and during our stay, and even took the time to wish us safe travels on our way home. The kitchen was well stocked and clean, as was the rest of the house. We would definitely stay in this rental again.

My spouse and I and our two dogs had a fantastic stay at this property. Everything was as described including well stocked kitchen, fenced in yard, comfortable beds and living space. We explored the nearby Taconic Ramble park which had a lovely Zen garden and a nice variety of hiking trails. Also went twice to Bomoseen state park to do those trails. Had a nice meal at The Lakehouse and enjoyed swimming at Crystal Beach. Phil was very easy to work with. We hope to come back this way again sometime and would definitely stay here again. I’m

Even though the homeowner was very organized. the home was in need of many repairs. holes in walls. stove was missing buttons, both shower curtain rods were rusty, gaps in the floor just to list a few on the inside, It was obvious that little to no upkeep was done on this property aside from cleaning.!

From the day we booked this property 6 months ago, communication from Phil, our host, was timely, honest, detailed, and clear. His tone and focus always emphasized our comfort and enjoyment.
When we arrived last Saturday, we found an immaculately clean, charming, comfortable, snd incredibly well-stocked house that was exactly as advertised. It comfortably held three13 year old girls, two young men in their 20s, and two ladies in their 50s. The full bathroom on each floor was especially appreciated. It is literally a 10 minute walk to Lake Bomoseen, even for the older and slower members of our party. And my dog loved the yard, which was a huge convenience.
Phil responded immediately to even the most simple question ("Do we recycle cardboard?") as well as more challenging issues: the first night we lost our WiFi and cable in a storm and Phil spent a long time walking my son through the reboot process in multiple phone calls. Finally, within half an hour of checkout, Phil texted me pictures of the things I had left behind, including a brand new pair of walking sneakers, and then offered to send them to me.
I travel fairly frequently, and this was honestly the best overall rental experience I have ever had. We will definitely be back next year.

The owner was available when needed. The property has plenty for my entire family of 5. And was just a quick walk to the beach! Would stay there again!

This is THE house for dog owners! We had four adults (parents and two adult children) and our kids' dogs. The fenced-in area in the back yard was well-loved by the dogs. We had a lot of rain the week we were there so we didn't spend any time on Lake Bomoseen (other than one dinner at the Lake House) which is where we thought we'd spend all our time but instead we visited the surrounding areas. We spent one afternoon in Ticonderoga to see the Star Trek exhibit which was very cool (we had visited the Fort on an earlier trip to the area). We also spent time in Middlebury, Rutland, Brandon (very cute little town!), and Vergennes. We visited the Morgan Horse Farm and saw the little ones up close as well as the older gentle horses. We were able to dodge storms and deluges pretty well and even though we didn't get to do the things we wanted to do at the lake, we managed to have a great time.
The house is very well stocked. There are enough towels and blankets for a small army. The kitchen was well stocked but if you like to grind your own coffee beans be sure to bring a grinder. It was very nice to have a full bath both upstairs and down. The washer and dryer worked well. The downstairs bed was a little creaky and not very comfortable. The window air conditioners all worked perfectly. We gave up on trying to get the downstairs TV to stream but our kids said the upstairs TVs streamed just fine. We didn't try to use the one in the downstairs bedroom. All in all, we had a good time!

We really enjoyed our stay, the weather was amazing and we ran out of time trying to do everything we wanted to! As others have said, inside could use a spring cleaning but we had everything that we needed, beds were clean and comfortable, and kitchen was well stocked. Would stay again!

Wonderful location close to great state parks and rambles. Perfect for us and our golden Retriever.

Everything was exactly as described and really was well appointed for humans and dogs! Our pup loved running around the fenced in back yard and taking morning walks to the beach each day. There are several crates of different sizes, water and food bowls, and we even found a couple of tennis balls to play with in the yard.
The house is less than 10 minutes from Castleton University which was perfect since we were here for my daughters graduation.
We had everything we needed and extras we didn’t expect. Communication was great. We enjoyed the fire pit and grill, and luckily didn’t needed the pellet stove, but it was great to have the option.

Loved the location, and owner was wonderful to work with, very accommodating. My only complaint is the home was a bit dirty and could use deep dusting and cleaning, nothing that would stop us from staying there again but would have been nice. There was also a weird sewer smell a fews times.

Nice area with everything you need in the house. Even dog crates, beds and bowls. Fenced in yard was perfect.

Phil was the best host ever going above and beyond. He responded to our questions immediately and was very thorough. The house was exactly as described: very clean, comfortable and fully stocked with a great selection of spices and condiments. Great location from Castleton University and Lake Bomoseen is just around the corner. Perfect for dogs with a fenced backyard and dog bowls. We had no issues with the internet. We loved our stay and will be back!

Our vacation was very comfortable for human as well ss canine members of my family. The dogs were playing off leash on the fenced backyard, and we took full advantage of the well equipped kitchen including a dishwasher.
The house is located in the proximity of several beautiful parks and many breweries in the area.
Phil was extremely helpful and always available. He was very kind and shipped us the dog harnesses and toys that we accidentally left behind.

This was our 2nd stay here. Everything was as described. Great location convenient to attractions & good restaurants. Great selection of spices, condiments & other staples. We used the kitchen daily. Also, nice to have a washer & dryer. Great value. Would stay here again.

We had everything we needed from plenty of towels, dish soap, and blankets, and the kitchen was fully stocked! The heat worked great and the location was wonderful. Our favorite part was the fenced-in yard. It was very secure and open, which was so nice to watch our pups enjoy! They spent hours out there just sniffing away. The property manager was very responsive when we couldn't get the TV to work to watch football so we got it up n running quickly, and I was even able to research our own services and we switched to full smart tv's at home. There was a children's museum and a zoo that we took our 16-month-old to, both within 30 minutes of the house. The king-sized bed was SO COMFY.
The floorboards were a little creaky, which was slightly inconvenient because it woke the baby a couple of times, and the water pressure in the shower wasn't as good as what I'm used to at home. That's my only "complaint", which is in quotes because really I'm not complaining. I added this to make this a completely honest review.
I would absolutely LOVE to come back again and highly recommend this place to anyone with pups!

We spent a lovely week at this sweet home. We truly felt more like guests than renters. Phil is an excellent host, making sure that both the large and small details of creating a home away from home are attended to. This is the perfect spot to just show up and relax. Phil even provided dog dishes for our pup! Crystal Beach is right down the road, providing crystal clear water for swimming, and a nice, dog friendly green space. We enjoyed beach days, and backyard evenings, grilling and chatting, while our dog explored the fenced in yard. The couple rainy days we had, we used to explore nearby towns. All in all - a perfect week! Thanks Phill!

We had a nice week at the lake house. Close to Crystal Beach which we visited frequently. We had our cocka poo with us and he enjoyed the fenced in backyard, but we would worry about a larger dog do to the stability of the fence. Our only issue was with the internet and TV reception. We knew it could be slow but found we could not use our tablets and the TV at the same time. The TV kept cutting out having to reset the modem several times. We contacted our host and he was helpful. Nice house and location.

Good communication with owner / house as described / backyard needs a little upkeep to make it more comfortable and walls need to be cleaned but the important stuff - beds and bath were very clean.

Excellent communication w/ Phil Wood.....electric power went out (about 2 hours) and Phil kept us posted with updates.
Everything really is provided! Super dog friendly. Booked our next trip to VT before we checked out!!

Pretty much exactly what I expected based on description. Phil was very responsive and attentive. My only ''complaints" were a semi-loud hum coming from the thermostat next to the downstairs bedroom. Some instructions on television controls and sound system would have been handy, but they were easy to figure out. All in all, a fi e stay. I would return.
