Our family of four loved our stay. The location was perfect for playing on the river, throwing a frisbee, and playing badminton, and was just a short drive from a couple of amazing hikes. The house was extremely comfortable, with beautiful views, high quality linens, a well equipped kitchen (we forgot to bring vanilla extract for our pancakes and were thrilled to find some in the cupboard) , and a very cool bathroom. After a leisurely morning and a midday hike we’d settle in with our books and board games, cook dinner, and watch a movie downstairs. The foosball table was a big hit with the kids. Jane was very accessible and responsive. We hope to come back in the summer!

Great family river house

We had a most wonder time at your beautiful cabin. Such a beautiful view overlooking the river. The cabin is extremely clean and the bed was so comfy with the awesome organic linens. We enjoy dining out on the front deck listening to the peaceful sound of the river. The kitchen has a ton of room and stocked with everything you would ever need. Close to restaurants and Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. Well worth the hike up to James Marshall Monument and other historical history...very interesting! Jane is a delight to talk to and very accommodating. A great place to just kick back and relax in a quite peaceful environment. Thank you Jane!

We stayed in the cabin, sat by the river, and visited the surrounding towns. The whole are is so serene and beautiful. Unfortunately we only stayed for two days, definitely not enough time to enjoy but we will be back.

We loved sitting by the river, exploring trails near-by, and conversations on the large porch watching the deer, wild turkeys and other wildlife.
A suggestion- Do buy your needed food supplies on the way to the cabin; Jane told us of several groceries about 20 min away. Good bread and a vegetable stand are available very close.

beautiful house in a very nice location on the river.
The house is well maintained and roomy for a family of 5. It is located away from the hustle and bustle with the river in the backyard.
The kitchen is well equipped and everything is nice and clean.
We briefly met Jane and she is very pleasant and helpful.
I would have given it 5 stars, but the entertainment part was lacking, no TV (while the world cup was on), only board games for little kids (we have teens), ancient movies and a very enticing looking and professional foosball table, but without balls ... there is not a whole lot left to do out there after dark. The only thing we had for entertainment was the internet (wifi), which does not make for good family time away from home. Typically an unknown board that we all learn at the same time is good for quality family time.

Beautiful riverside paradise
The house was so perfect in so many ways. I stayed for 3 nights with 2 friends to raft the s. Fork of the American river. The property lies about 150 feet from the river and was perfect for us to launch our 12 ft. Raft. The deck is so cozy with a nice view of the river. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare all our meals. There was no need to go out to restaurants although you could if you wanted to. The owner, Jane, communicated quickly and was very accommodating. I've stayed at many Vrbos and this by far was one of the nicest! My friend and I already talked about coming back here soon with our kids. Thanks Jane for opening up your lovely place! Hope to see you again here soon.

Private and relaxing cabin on the river
We were lucky to be Jane's first guest. This is an amazing cabin right on the American River. Very private with a gorgeous view from the deck and calming sounds of the river. The house is very spacious and comfortable. Great beds. Two large sitting areas are at each floor. The kitchen is large and well equipped.
We enjoyed sitting on the deck or by the river and watching the rafters passing by. Plenty of tubing and rafting opportunities are nearby. We opted to shuttle our tubes two miles up the river and float directly to the house.
The owner is very responsive. We felt very welcomed to the house. Upon arrival, a generous gift basket awaited us with marshmallow supplies and the campfire was prepared for us and ready to start. The fridge was stocked with milk and the eggs and spices as well as plenty of coffee were available. The owner also provided two rafting tubes and kids swimming vest amongst others.
I recommend this place to everyone.
