Loved, loved, loved this apt! The patio is the ultimate! Very modern apt, fully equipped. Thanks for Netflix. Only downside are the directions to get there which need to be updated. Elevator at train station was out of order, so we got confused. When we got to the church, we followed directions, we thought, and ended up at the priest’s house! We had a lovely stay!

What an amazing place with a spectacular view! We loved Casa Dena for its fabulous deck overlooking Riomaggiore and the view of the water. It’s spacious, clean and very well stocked with everything you need for a wonderful stay. The host, Carolina is exceptional with providing details and information to make for an easy stay. Highly recommend!

We had fantastic communication from Carolina from the time we booked. She guided us through all of the processes and was quick to address any concerns or offer assistance whenever we needed it.
Possibly the best equipped apartment we stayed in during our month in Italy. The decor is authentically rustic Italian and it all makes for a lovely, comfortable stay. It is however a very long way up, and this is a hard climb with kids in tow and lots of luggage if the lift from the station isn’t functioning as was the case for us. Best to make sure you pack light for your stay. Once you make it up to the apartment, the views are worth every single step of that climb. They are truly spectacular!

The view from this apartment was amazing and worth the climb uphill and the narrow stairs to the fifth floor. The kitchen was well appointed with all we needed to begin our day with coffee and small meal. The bed was comfortable although the street noise could get a little loud and the window let in quite a bit of light. Having the bathroom upstairs was interesting and challenging in the middle of the night. Carolina was a good host who checked in with us during our stay. And again we loved the view!

Great stay. A fabulous accommodation in Cinque Terre. Host was great; answered questions promptly and even arranged parking for us in the village. Stay was as advertised and terrace was a nice feature - to sit out with coffee in morning and a glass of wine in the evening.

We have been dreaming of visiting Riomaggiore for over 20 years. I came across Caroline’s space about five years ago. We kept having set backs and had to cancel which was heartbreaking.
This place was worth the wait and every penny we spent.
This space is huge, super comfortable and Caroline has thought of every detail to make you feel at home. NOTHING is stingy, and pictures don’t do it justice. The bed is very comfortable, lots of towels including beach towels. Fully packed kitchen I cooked several nights and we enjoyed dinner on the roof.

There was never a need for air conditioner, we opened the windows and breeze went through house. Church bells occasionally that added to the charm.
Spectacular view on roof with large table and chairs for dining and two relaxing lounges for napping.
Perfect for a dream vacation!

We loved our stay. The apartment was exactly as pictured, very clean. The owner provided very detailed directions how to get to the location with pictures, which was greatly appreciated! I would suggest if you are older, or not in good shape that this may not be a great location, as there are many hills and many steps, if you are able, though, the views
are worth it! Would definitely return!

We stayed here with our kids, ages 13, 12, and 9. It was just wonderful. Usually, photos are an over-promise. In this case, they didn't do justice. The property was so prepared for our every need (even our 9-year-old noticed), and was incredible beyond compare. I can't imagine any property has a better view, and the apartment was completely prepared for anything you could need. We couldn't be happier with our stay. 5/5 completely recommend!

We loved staying at Casa Dena. We felt right amongst the town and loved the rooftop terrace. The aircon worked well and the casa was very clean and lots of facilities were provided like laundry detergent, beach towels and kitchen amenities. I would highly recommend staying here, it made our time at the Cinque Terre so pleasant! Thanks Carolina :)

We had an incredible time in this absolutely beautiful corner of the world. The apartment has stunning views and we had to keep pinching ourselves to believe we were there. The apartment was just as described, but the views are even better! The steps didn't worry us at all, it was amazing to look down on the town and feel slightly out of the hustle and bustle when you wanted to and we loved that there are no cars. There was some noise from the bars in town overnight, this was the only slight downside. There are plenty of lovely little places to eat and we had a great time swimming off the rocks at the beach, but it was hard to drag ourselves away from the balcony at times! We will definitely be back!

Caroline’s house is beautiful and in a great location- we really enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evenings! She was super helpful securing parking for us and provided excellent communication during our stay. We loved the apartment and would definitely stay here again.

The apartment is nice, the view is great. It is mentioned in the description as a minor detail that the apartment is on the 5th floor. In reality there are really steep stairs, which come at the end of a long uphill climb to the apartment. Not suitable for people with mobility issues.
The major issue with the place was that the host informed us the day we arrived that the toilet didn’t work, and that we’d have to fill/dump a bucket of water from the shower every time we wanted to flush. It actually was a big inconvenience, especially considering how much we paid for the place and with 2 kids. It also filled the whole bathroom with a stench which limited the shower use as well. We asked the host for a partial refund based on the inconvenience and she was really inflexible and cheap about it, offering what amounted to about 10% of the cost of a 4 night stay. I was really surprised considering I’ve had many accommodating hosts In similar situations. She seemed to know that VRBO protected her from having to make any refund at all, even though vrbo recommended we negotiate with her. Finally, she accused us of not taking out the garbage, which we did, and was actually a huge effort (to get it down 5 flights on 2 different nights).

Great location, at top of the town though so be prepared for a steep walk and plenty of steps. Communication with the host was faultless, there was a couple of issues with property but we were kept informed.

It’s a very easy passage from train station to property. It is up 36 steep stairs but once you’re there the views are spectacular!
Big bedrooms, air conditioning, washing machine, kitchen facilities, huge terrace with awning. We are in each night as it was so hard to tear ourselves from the view.
Carolina was a great host, good directions, very responsive and friendly.
I hope to return sometime and would not hesitate returning here!

This is a fantastic home-base for your exploration of the Cinque Terre. We Loved the roof top terrace and used it for every breakfast and dinner. This was a great decompression location after our hours on the hiking trails.
Highly recommend this to anyone. All four of us enjoyed this apartment and it exceeded out expectations. Wonderful host with very clear and helpful communication whenever needed. 5/5 Stars.

I chose Riomaggiore and Casa Dena based on some internet digging … couldn’t have done better if I tried. After day trips to all the villages, I think Riomaggiore was the best one to stay at. Casa Dena was great. It’s a little bit of effort (physically) to get there but well worth it.
The pictures are accurate. Best part about the apartment was the terrace and the view.
Both bedrooms and the living room have A/C units. Both bedrooms had an ocean view too. Beds were comfortable. We didn’t use it but there is also a washing machine … drying was by line on the terrace. We had one morning we weren’t able to leave because of a thunderstorm - the apartment was comfortable to just hang out in.
No problem communicating with the owner at all.
There are bars, coffee shops, restaurants and local markets on the main road (maybe a 3 minute walk?). There’s a small restaurant (Old School) about 100 feet from the apartment building. We had breakfast and dinner there a few times.
Trains were easy to catch. They run about every 20 minutes. It’s €5 per person each way (for the villages and La Spezia). If you’re here for a few days, consider getting the Cinque Terre rail pass. It’s for 1, 2 or 3 days (€18, €33 or €47). Includes all on on and offs you want per day, bathroom usage at stations (€1 without the pass), Wi-Fi at stations and the bus to get up and down the hill at Corniglia (€2.50 without the pass). It’s available at the train station.

Casa Dena enhanced our experience immensely! The views were fabulous. It was an authentic home. We both enjoyed opening the windows & shutters allowing the wonderful breeze to come in! Yes, there are a lot of steps but the view is well worth it! Hiking between the villages was very scenic and a 5 hour boat trip let us see all of Cinque Terre & Porto Venere from a different perspective. Love making espresso in the Moka pot; we bought one to use at home. Casa Dena is very well equipped & very comfortable. We loved having dinner on the terrace. We felt like real Italian locals staying here!

I booked this vrbo and had to cancel during covid so we were so lucky to be able to book it again. It is absolutely gorgeous. We had an issue getting in, probably because it was late and we were very tired but the host was so kind helping us. The view from the patio is unbelievable. I hope to go back to Cinque Terre some day and would definitely stay here again.

This property is in a fabulous location - far enough away from the busy of the village. Clean, comfortable, and quiet at night. Well stocked kitchen - nice to have a fridge, plates, wine opener, etc.
The view from the rooftop terrace is absolutely amazing. There are a lot of steep stairs, but definitely worth it.
Communication with Carolina was reliable and fast.
Unfortunately and not to the fault of this property, the elevator by the train station was out of order during our stay. Definitely recommend using that if at all possible. The slopes of Riomaggiore are no joke!
I also recommend the restaurant next door (Old School) for breakfast or lunch!

We loved this apartment and Riomaggiore! It’s very affordable for what you get. I mean, the views from the terrace could not be beat! We ate takeout on it every night. Our favorite place to get food was Mi Va where you can get pizza, chicken wings, AND fish! We took a boat to Monterosso and spent a few hours there. Aside from the beach and more food and shopping options, it doesn’t hold a candle to Riomaggiore!
At night after watching the sun go down on the terrace, we settled in watching Netflix.
Communication with Carolina was always great, she made sure someone was able to be contacted if we needed help with check-in.
By far, my favorite part of our vacation in Italy, 100 percent recommend!!

We visited Cinque Terre on a day trip from Florence in 2012. We knew we wanted to return .
For our 25 th anniversary we chose this rental due to view and location. We were absolutely pleased with our stay.
We came in by train and the check in instructions included pictures which made it seamlessly easy.
The rental had everything one would need including American adapters for the outlets. The kitchen had everything one could possibly need. We didn’t cook but we did use the Bialetti coffee makers ( which we love). The first morning they had coffee there for us.
The location was an easy ten minute walk from the train station. Direct next to our building was an awesome little wine bar for snacks and drinks.
Understand that all on Cinque Terre requires a certain level of health and mobility. Having said that, as others have said this is a three story walk up. For us this was fine but people with mobility issues would find it daunting but I think that holds true for the region as a whole.
The view from the balcony is simply stunning and we spent a ton of time up there reveling in it.
For a homebase in this region this was a great find.
