Die Küche von Orenda ist bereit, fantastische Mahlzeiten zuzubereiten und verfügt über zahlreiche Annehmlichkeiten wie eine Müllpresse, Doppelöfen, einen großen Kühlschrank, eine handgefertigte Frühstücksbar, hochwertige Geräte, ein Gaskochfeld sowie alles, was Sie in einer Küche benötigen könnten. Der große Essbereich bietet Platz für 12 Personen bequem am Tisch neben einem Holzofen. Bei Bedarf gibt es mehr Tische / Stühle. Im Erdgeschoss können Sie auch die Dampfdusche und die Innensauna genießen, um sich nach einem unvergesslichen Tag in den Bergen zu erholen. 18 of us, ages 3 to 88 stayed here for a week with plenty of space, even when it came to daytime naps. It was a treat to all fit around the dining table, and to have several places, inside and out, to congregate.

There were 17 people in our party ranging in age from 8-76. There was plenty of room for us all. There was no air conditioning except the master bedroom, so you need to be aware of that. The bunk room is where the young kids slept and it was quite warm. We couldn't open the windows in that room because there were no screens on the windows and lots of flies. The swimming pool, hot tub, and firepit were enjoyed by all. We had to drive about 15 minutes to a grocery store, and very little other retail, so shopping should not be a priority when planning a trip to this location. We hung out on the deck most of the time and had lots of family bonding time. We've been renting from VRBO for many years and this location was enjoyed by everyone. The high temperature each day was high 70's, we all had come from much hotter climates, so that was probably what we liked best.

Picturesque Stay
The property is beautiful, and the house itself has everything you could want for a picturesque, quaint getaway for a weekend. The home is cozy, clean, and charming. The owner is communicative and understandably wants to preserve the beauty and integrity of the property. Guests should, however, be advised there are very strict rules for this home, as these rules can add stress to the stay if you are not prepared. There are very specific rules around trash and recycling collection, and check-in/check-out rules (such as closing all bedroom doors before leaving, turning bathroom temperatures to 55 degrees, and sweeping the floors). The owner also requested social media profiles, a resume, and driver's license before the stay as verification. If you are willing to take these steps, the home is a great option.

McCabe Reunion
I was looking for a house for a family gathering of approximately 20 people . This listing checked every box off that I needed. It truly was amazing - the views spectacular . The house itself was a gem. Clean , spacious , beds comfortable and plenty of room for social distancing . The surrounding property- outside deck, land, fire pit area was beautifully laid out. Plenty of clean towels , kitchen was stocked with everything , bar area as well. The bathrooms were all updated- top of the line. I cannot say enough about our stay- it was wonderful .
For a fall weekend house was great, not too hot.
Adam was a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend this house.
Definitely would rent this house again !

The View
Fantastic property -- the view is unmatched and is your constant companion inside and out. The house comformatably accomodated our party of 12 with 3 bedrooms to spare. Adam is attentive and very motivated to ensure that it is a memorable stay.

Great mountain getaway
The property was great, spacious, and everything accurate from the pictures! We had 23 people ranging from 2 yrs to 80. It was the perfect property - kids had the bunk house, rooms for families. We spent the entire time in the house relaxing, cooking, and swimming.
Large outdoors with the gazebo, grass, pool, hot tub and fire pit. Owner was extremely responsive and any minor issues were addressed. Host was extremely responsive!

Perfect stay in every way!
Can't say enough about this beautiful space! It was the perfect spot for our large crew and the owner, Adam, went above and beyond to ensure that we were accommodated. The home and everything in it was clean and lovely, and Adam made himself easily available in case there was anything we needed. Looking forward to hopefully making this an annual trip!

The house was a wonderful place for our work retreat. There was so much space indoors and outdoors. The pool and hot tub were a nice addition to the beautiful house. We had a campfire outdoors overlooking the gorgeous mountains. The property manager was nice and helpful and was able to give us some information on the local towns. The only negative for me was that the check out process was not smooth. We needed to alert the manager when we were planning on leaving and then wait for her to arrive to review the house before we left. We ended up finishing early and she was running late so we had to wait around a bit before being able to hit the road. Overall a great property for a large group!

Great spot!
We had a large group of adults for a weekend trip, and this property met all our expectations. It's exactly as pictured! There was enough room for our group of 25 to fit comfortably, and the outdoor space was awesome. Everything was clean, and the grounds were well maintained. This is a great launching point for any activities you're doing in the area.
The only "con" worth pointing out is that the place does get quite hot mid day if it's warm out as there's no AC throughout the house. Other than that, absolutely zero complaints. We would definitely come back.

Great week at Orenda
We had a lovely family reunion for 18 at Orenda. The house is spacious and inviting. We totally enjoyed the large, open living space - huge, comfy couch; excellent wet bar; big tv; separate reading areas; pianos; games. The dining area fit us all, and the kitchen is wonderfully well-equipped and made cooking for our large group a breeze and fun. The pool and deck area are fabulous. Towels and linens were plentiful and the bathrooms were all nice. The backyard space and mountain setting are lovely, and there are varied fun things to do within a short drive away. Adam was very amiable and responsive. We arrived on the last day of a heatwave, so the lack of air conditioning that first day and night was initially a concern, but the heat broke the next day and the house was totally comfortable after that. The mountain evenings were lovely and cool, and the stargazing excellent! Some of the bed mattresses (not in the main bedrooms) could be better! Overall, a great country retreat for a big group!

4th of July with large group of friends
Our friends had a fantastic stay at Orenda! 26 adults were able to comfortably fit and sleep in the house. Driveway area fit plenty of cars. It was a super hot week and weekend (90 degrees+), so the house did get very warm without AC, but the pool was perfect and temperatures did drop at night - enough to gather around the fire pit!
Adam, the owner, was great! Very easy to communicate with and quickly answered my questions while planning and during our stay! We hired one of the chefs he recommended for a group dinner - food was delicious, and the chef/staff was wonderful to work with.
The house is close to good hiking, fishing, golf, and an easy drive to Woodstock. We did hope there would be Uber or local cab services, however everything we needed was a quick drive away and we spent every evening at the house.
We would definitely recommend this property!

A Scenic Adult Sanctuary well equipped for our annual 4 generation forced, family fun event.
Our visit was early summer and we found it to be a welcome restful, adult, retreat. We played many outdoor games in the large lush green lawns; miniature golf, Frisbee golf, kickball, Bocce Ball, and corn hole to name a few. A little more exterior lighting would have enhanced and extended our game nights. We greatly enjoyed the Jacuzzi and large pool that is well partnered with an on-deck grill and dining area. The Orenda house was clean with an ample supply of dishes, utensils, necessary items, along with paper and linen products. A well-stocked pleasant surprise along with easy access to a top of the line washer and dryer. The spacious, rambling, remote, wood house sitting on a large grassy hill provided privacy and peace of mind. Though we would NOT recommend it for children under age 10; the main wood floor areas with their fragile vintage decor and easy access to pool area along with the need to keep windows and doors open for summer cooling could prove challenging to parents of younger children. Luckily, we had only one small child. The home is a short drive to gas, grocery store and local Catskill park resources. The location has a remote small-town atmosphere that closed its doors early, so planning ahead was important and worth investigating ahead of time. Over all Orenda offers a great potential for rest, recreation and fun. Complete with a friendly owner who quickly responded to questions and requests.

Fantastic spot to retreat to
Adam’s place was outstanding. The yard was huge and recently cut, pool and hot tub were well maintained, and all the rooms were in great shape. It made the perfect place to get together with old friends and catch up. I would 100% return

We spent MLK weekend at this beautiful and spacious home. We could not have been happier - it is very close to Bellyayre Ski, which was a huge plus! We had a bit of snow while we were there and a few of the cars were not able to pull out, but the homeowner (Adam) was kind enough to send someone over to re-plow the driveway. Adam was very responsive and we enjoyed our stay, making great memories with friends!

Beautiful and Well Maintained Home!
We spent MLK weekend at this beautiful and spacious home. We could not have been happier - it is very close to Bellyayre Ski, which was a huge plus! We had a bit of snow while we were there and a few of the cars were not able to pull out, but the homeowner (Adam) was kind enough to send someone over to re-plow the driveway. Adam was very responsive and we enjoyed our stay, making great memories with friends!

Big and beautiful but lived in and homey
Adam was very helpful for helping us to access the property for our stay and was available for any questions and concerns which was a relief. The space has a transformative aspect to it and we felt that throughout the weekend. While the home is big and has very nice everything it feels lived in homey and you comfortable and at ease no matter which part of it you melt into. I highly recommend this space for a rejuvenating weekend!

My friends and I stayed at this house over Labor Day weekend and it was perfect! Pictures do not do it justice. There were about 16 of us and more than enough room. The bedrooms were beautiful. We never felt like we were on top of one another. The layout can be a little confusing, but the owner supplies a blueprint of the house. Plus it is fun to explore all the connecting rooms. The best part of the house is the backyard. The pool was lovely, as was the hot tub. The views were remarkable and there was so much space! It rained one of the nights we were there so we had to stay indoors, but even then it felt like enough room. The owner of the house is very responsive and very nice. I have no complaints!

We came with 3 large families and everybody had plenty of room to eat and sleep. Bathrooms were spotless and bedrooms well appointed. The pool was AMAZING, clean, warm and very inviting. The grounds are beautiful and spacious. Adam was easy to get in touch with and helpful. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Highly recommend this property. We had an extended family weekend, the house was roomy and clean, the kitchen has everything you could need. Pool area has plenty of seating. Didn’t leave the house the whole weekend! Owner very responsive to questions. My son left his wallet there, they looked for it right away and mailed it back which relieved our anxiety! Hoping to go back for a longer stay next summer.

I rented this home in May 2018 for my husband's birthday. I thought the HEATED pool would be open because it is clearly stated on the website that the pool is open in Spring, Summer and Fall (You can check and verify). A few weeks after renting, I messaged owner to make sure about it. He said pool wont be in use because the property is under snow, "in May". He even sent me a photo of the home under snow however, very obviously, photo was from winter as it was around 60 degrees at the time the messages were exchanged and over 80 degrees during our stay in Big Indian. (You can check weather forecast websites and verify). I told the owner that he should fulfill his responsibilities as promised: The pool is heated and the weather is perfectly fine for a heated pool. He replied with an angry "email" and CALLED ME NASTY just because told him to open the pool for us. He emailed me instead of messaging because he did not want vrbo to see his uncivil messages.(I just forwarded that email to vrbo so they can see it) Irresponsible, arrogant and extremely rude owner. DO NOT RENT THIS HOME. (He advised us to use a nearby public pool... If I wanted to go to a public pool I would not rent this home in the first place.)
More importantly, I am pregnant and getting called nasty was the last thing I wanted to hear from a person.I had an exceptionally unpleasant experience and I do not want you to have the same. There are plenty of homes on vrbo with reasonable owners, just go with them.
Owner never accepted a cancellation. I never asked for any refund because I did not wanted to get called nasty again. It would not worth any money.
Lastly, I already have a big home. The only reason of renting this home was the heated pool. All the money I spent on this home and the pool accessories/decorations I bought for the birthday were gone to waste.(I myself paid for everything, did not get a dime from my guests) Also, the cushions of the outdoor furniture set was missing so we could not use it as well. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED. STAY AWAY.

I rented this home in May 2018 for my husbands birthday. I thought the HEATED pool would be open because it is clearly stated on the website that the pool is open in Spring, Summer and Fall (You can check and verify). A few weeks after renting, I messaged owner to make sure about it. He said pool wont be in use because the property is under snow, in May. He even sent me a photo of the home under snow however, very obviously, photo was from winter as it was around 60 degrees at the time the messages were exchanged and over 80 degrees during our stay in Big Indian. (You can check weather forecast websites and verify). I told the owner that he should fulfill his responsibilities as promised: The pool is heated and the weather is perfectly fine for a heated pool. He replied with an angry email and CALLED ME NASTY just because told him to open the pool for us. He emailed me instead of messaging because he did not want vrbo to see his uncivil messages.(I just forwarded that email to vrbo so they can see it) Irresponsible, arrogant and extremely rude owner. DO NOT RENT THIS HOME. (He advised us to use a nearby public pool... If I wanted to go to a public pool I would not rent this home in the first place.)More importantly, I am pregnant and getting called nasty was the last thing I wanted to hear from a person.I had an exceptionally unpleasant experience and I do not want you to have the same. There are plenty of homes on vrbo with reasonable owners, just go with them. Owner never accepted a cancellation. I never asked for any refund because I did not wanted to get called nasty again. It would not worth any money.Lastly, I already have a big home. The only reason of renting this home was the heated pool. All the money I spent on this home and the pool accessories/decorations I bought for the birthday were gone to waste.(I myself paid for everything, did not get a dime from my guests) Also, the cushions of the outdoor furniture set was missing so we could not use it as well. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED. STAY AWAY.
