Location, location, location. Can’t get any better. Miguel was quick to respond to all of our questions and requests. He even provided suggestions for restaurants and sites to see while in the city. Talk about responsive, he even face timed us to help guide through the process using the washer/dryer unit in the apartment. What a life saver. Also, we arrived a little early on the first day and Sarah, the maid, greeted us and help with the luggage and we were able to store the luggage until the unit was cleaned. Can’t say how much we enjoyed our stay

Everything was lovely except the 73 steps up. Didn't see that when booking. (And we are in our late 60's!). Anyway everything else was great. Miguel was most helpful. Location is perfect.

Nice place! Miguel and Sara were extremely helpful in getting us in and settled, and gave us a yummy restaurant recommendation. Nice cold water waiting in the fridge for us.
Central location on pedestrian avenue was easy to navigate from... just a short walk to central squares. Lots of shopping, bakeries, and restaurants all around.
Street outside very touristy and noisy but the windows worked well to shut out the noise.
Place was clean, bed comfortable.
Bed linens and pillows/pillowcases could be better. Confused by the washer/dryer but eventually it worked out. Could use a few lamps rather than just ceiling lighting. Blind in bedroom didn't work. Stairs challenging but we knew that ahead of time.
All in all good place and good stay. Thank you Miguel!

Stay was good. Miquel was super helpful, arranged our ride back to the airport
Suggested great places to eat and things to do
Only issue was steep stairs, but if you want that location all the buildings are older and do not have elevators

We loved this apartment. The location was great, just walk out the door and you’re in the middle of everything. Miguel and Sarah were both awesome to deal with and very helpful. I would definitely stay there again!

Perfect location for our stay in Lisbon. We were able to walk everywhere that we wanted to go. The metro station was just a 3 min walk away. We were able to leave our luggage before check-in. Miguel and Sarah were very helpful and quick to respond to our questions. He gave lots of recommendations for restaurants and tours. Although we are on one of the busiest streets we didn't have any issues with noise since the master bedroom is at the back of the apartment and 4 floors up. As other reviewers have mentioned, be aware that this is a steep climb with shallow steps (no elevator) especially after a long day touring and there is a hole in a plank on one of the landings.

The place was clean and comfortable and a nice balcony to watch people. The 74 stairs are a killer with heavy luggage. If this was not the case, it would be an excellent place.

The host Ms Ana had very good communication before and during our stay. The home was very spacious and with the local grocery nearby we were able to cook at home. We could walk to where we needed to from this location. Keep in mind this unit is only for those who can handle many stairs, we could, but if 100 stairs is not possible for you, you would need another option, but if you are able, it was great to burn off some calories from the amazing Portuguese food. We would definitely recommend.

My husband and I booked this property for more than a week as our home base for our vacation in Portugal. This property was perfect for our stay and provided more than enough space for the two of us. The apartment is cute and comfortable and the view onto Rua Augusta is spectacular! We loved the energy of the busy pedestrian avenue full of shops and restaurants. But don’t be concerned that you will be bothered by street noise because the soundproofing of the balcony doors and windows when closed prevents the noise from coming through. The kitchen is nicely stocked if you plan to do your own cooking. The location was perfect for accessing all the neighborhoods, restaurants, shops, and sites we wanted to see.
Everybody mentions the stairs: we adjusted to them by the second day. We are both 60 and we adopted the attitude that the stairs are good cardio exercise after enjoying Pastel de Nata and other local pastries from the easily accessible cafés just a few steps away. ;)
We always felt safe in the neighborhood no matter what time we were out.
Miguel and Sara were wonderful to work with and they made our stay so comfortable. They are such gracious and generous people. They made us feel so welcome, just as if we have been friends for years! Communication was excellent. Recommendations about restaurants and things to see were also excellent. Our stay at this property was an excellent experience. We would book it again!

I came with my husband and three teenage daughters, and it was great! Although there are many stairs in a very busy touristic area, we loved it! A cute and clean apartment with AC and wifi that could easily accommodate 5-6 people. Exactly what we wanted: walkable distance to the shops and restaurants, and to metro with easy access to all touristic attractions. The metro is just three minutes walk away and we used it with ease along with the trains to go the Sintra, Cascais, and and Belem and others! We spent our days travelling around, and evenings hanging out at near by restaurants, and patios listening to live performers, and we loved that we could do that and feel totally safe late at night, and be within walkable distance home. Would recommend to any family with teens!

We loved our stay in Miguel’s flat. The location is phenomenal- to be able to step out on your balcony and look up and down the Rua Augusta, step outside the building and get great Pasteis de Nara and coffee just a few meters away! Also just two blocks to the metro to explore farther around the city or walking distance to Chiado and Alfama. We really loved this as a home base. Miguel was very helpful- pointed out some elevators that were super useful. We also loved being able to go to sleep with the street noise drifting up, which is not too loud at all. Truth in advertising it is a steep 4 floors up, but worth it.

Superb location, fabulous host. 5 stars all round
This apartment is centrally located with Rossio station (for Sintra) 5 minutes walk away and Cais do Sodre (for Cascais beaches) less than 15. Baixa Ciado metro is 2 minutes. Rua Augusta is a pedestrian street so you will need to walk a few steps with your bags and there is no elevator so you will need to navigate some steps.
Host Miguel was extremely friendly, flexible and helpful. Contact via Whatsapp worked well once we arrived.
Apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable with everything we could possibly need.

Location, location, location
The location is perfect - easily walkable to transport and tourism sites in a very safe neighbourhood. No security issues at any time of day or night. However, the apt is on the 4th floor which means 70+ stairs up from the ground. Stairs are steep and shallow. Lighting is all by motion sensor so not bad on the way up but not great on the way down! Apt is very basic inside - IKEA furnishings and appliances. The stay would have been better with the inclusion of instructions for TV, entertainment centre, washer/dryer, etc. One very irksome experience - the shower didn’t drain leaving a small food on the bathroom floor. Upon further investigation, the drain filter was clogged with hair. Disgusting. No hand towel for the second bathroom and no dish towel in the kitchen was surprising given the concerns we now have over hand washing. BUT, overall it was an ok experience.

This apartment was lovely and well stocked/supplied. It was spacious and very comfortable. The location was in the heart of Lisbon and so easy to get around. The four story walk-up was a little challenge with suitcases, but otherwise we didn't mind. We would stay here again. The owner was very friendly and stayed in touch, overall we rated it as a five star. Out stay in Lisbon was fabulous, did a lot of walking. It is worth a day trip to Belem and eat at Bar 38 41' at the water front.

This apartment was amazing. The location is prime. You are 2 min walk to the metro station and centrally located to most neighborhoods within an easy walking distance. The facility is clean, spacious, and newly renovated. The balconette is enchanting and we enjoyed almost every night out there. The only downside to this spot are the stairs. They are killer but with that being said, I would come back here over and over again.

While you have to be in fairly good shape to hike up five flights of steep stairs every time you come home, the effort is worth it. This apartment is spotlessly clean, well equipped, very large for a one bedroom, but the icing on the cake is the two balconies looking out over the main intersection in the Baixa district. At any time you're only feet away from anything you'd like to do - shopping, eating, people watching, but also only a short walk away from parking, transportation, and many of Lisbon's prime attractions. When we return this is the place we'll stay.

This apartment is close to a lot of attractions, shopping, and restaurants. The host was very responsive and answered all of our questions. We did have a mix up checking in. Another vrbo guest took the keys that were left out for us so we were locked out for over an hour until the host could contact them. Not the hosts fault but maybe there is a better way to get keys to guests after hours. However, I would still recommend staying here as everything else was as expected and smooth. Parking is not on site but the host arranged parking at a garage close by and it was an additional small charge.

Excellent location - beautiful views. Make sure you pack lightly as there are 5 steep flights of stairs to climb. Parking in the area is expensive.

Loved our stay here with every thing available just outside our apartment....restaurants, shops, entertainment just looking out our balcony. The 72 steps to the apartment was rough on a couple that is 65 and 70 years old, but was so worth it to stay in this spacious, stylish, perfectly located apartment.

My wife and I completely enjoyed our stay In Old Town Lisbon . The apartment as the pictures show is right in the middle of everything you would want to see or do.
The apartment’s kitchen and bathroom are modern.
The five floors of stairs to climb and the street performer noise with the windows open might be a problem for some.
Dolly who checked us in was very helpful.

Once you get over the long climb up to the apartment, it's a lovely spot. It's especially nice to have the little balcony looking out onto the main street. Great location with lots to see nearby and close to the metro. Would certainly recommend it.
