I always book here if there is an available room or apartment. This accommodation is located in the most beautiful part of Funchal, close to everything, restaurants, shops, bus stop, the market, the sea! The building itself is beautiful inside and out, extremely clean, tastefully furnished. Easy check-in, access to the building and apartments with a code. José is a very good host, any requests or questions arise, he responds almost within minutes via the booking messenger. I simply cannot find a better accommodation in Funchal, even though I have been in Madeira 7 times. Also at other accommodations, of course, since there is often no free space at the Edifício Charles so we are forced to book elsewhere.

Location was great, staff was often there cleaning other units and were always friendly and responsive. Allowed us to drop off our bags early so we could return our rental car. Very clean, great location right in the centre of Funchal and close to everything. A bit of night noise but to be expected in the heart of the city, the city crew washes the streets and empties and garbage overnight - we used a white noise app on our phone and it was fine. Very nice hosts.

Very clean and modern, nice and central with very helpful and friendly staff. Best accommodation we have had out of six trips to Maderia, and they have all been good.

Location, comfort and size of the appartment. Well - equipped, no problems to prepare breakfast or other meals. The towels were changed twice during our one week stay. Very good contact with the host. Jose - thank you very much for wonderful stay.

I loved how easy it was to find the property (aerobus, stop 6, avenido da mar) 5minutes walk from the bus stop.
I adored the cleaning lady, she was so sweet and professional !
The property had everything for a comfortable stay.
Since it is located at the center of Funchal it can be noisy in the evening (the noise stops around 11pm) best to take some earplug for a good night sleep.

I loved staying at Edificio Charles 😍 The apartment was so clean, cozy and stylish, I loved it. Would gladly stay longer as it had everything you need on you holidays in Madeira. Amazing experience ❤️

The owner said he would email the codes we arrived before check in time.The room was still being cleaned we phoned the owner he told the cleaner to let us in dropped off our stuff and got changed then wnet out to let then finish. 30 minutes later confirmation the room was ready and codes sent. it couldn't have been easier. Do not get a taxi commute from airport couldn't be easier Aerobus. get off at stop 4 walk down past the supermarket turn right at the bridge over the river inlet, go to the next river inlet crossing over the road, past the shop called de Bazar and you are there 10 minute walk and 5 euro on aerobus, I usually dont risk this but prefer taxis but found this very very easy.
There was nothing I did not like. I would mention it is in the middle of a lovely square that is busy and it can get a little noisy at night although not late. This is not a complaint you have to understand the location is fantastic. Liken it to being in the centre of York. Call it hustle and bustle.

Central location. Very clean. Just enough room for two, a large bath. Friendly staff (thank you Jose and Cecilia!). Walkable to everywhere. Well appointed. Though central in a busy area, the windows were well insulated and it made the room very quiet. Nice balcony, just enough room to pull out chairs for reading etc. Good wifi signal. Borrrow-able plug adapters in lobby. Good avail of hand sanitizer on all floors. Auto lights for stair case and halls. Key pad entry easy to use.

The location is great - right in the middle of the old town, which meant it was easy to return to the apartment to collect or leave something, change shoes or to stop for a rest or a snack. There were lots of lovely cafes and restaurants near by. The apartment was very clean. The bathroom was lovely and the shower worked well. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen had all we needed. The housekeeper was there most days and was very friendly. We were staying for 11 nights so we got fresh towels every few days and the apartment was even cleaned once during our stay.
As everyone else has mentioned the apartment is in the heart of the town so it is noisy for a while at night, and then the (Sé?) clock starts chiming from 8am (quite a reasonable time). But after the first night it really didn't bother us too much at all, and was a trade-off we were willing to pay for the sake of the excellent location.
There is no sofa or sitting area so if we wanted to relax, watch tv etc. we had to pull round the kitchen chairs or use the bed. Not a big inconvenience, but just something we hadn't realised.

Great location! Full size oven and fridge. Newly renovated and everything is clean and new. Great shower with good water pressure. Can’t beat the location in the city center. Walking distance to the waterfront, shopping, sites and grocery store. Super easy check in, property manager sent the code and we were all set.
The street noise can get loud. If you are a light sleeper ear plugs are a must.

The apartment was amazing - pretty and spotless clean, but I loved it because of the location. You are in the middle of the beautiful city, everything you need is just around the corner. It may be a little bit lound, so take earplugs with you.
Next time in Funchal - definitely this place!

The apartment is beautiful and clean with lot of facilities. The cleaning staff was really kind. The location is also amazing everything is in few minutes walk. The bathroom is huge and really comfortable.
I can recommend this accommodation because easy to get from the airport and everything is around, it was a lovely time for us there.
The only thing which we didn't like is the noise from the street through the night. The apartment is in the central with good location but in this case lot of people walking around in the night time and we could hear all the conversations and shouting from them.

Location of the property is very central, with lots of local shops and restaurants on your doorstep. Very clean apartment and great bathroom.
Only a small thing but leaving some coffee to use would have been a nice extra touch.
