Location in Teton Village is perfect, walk out to Tram or other lifts. Hotel is quiet, staff were pleasant. Look
This is an old property (doors that need to be locked with actual keys) that has not been updated. No creature comforts of most modern hotel such as mini fridge, or place to charge phone or computer. Hot tub could use an update as well. Reportedly, the hotel is about to undergo major renovation.

Room was great. Resort location very close to Grand Teton's entrance gate. Breakfast was really good. Front desk staff was wonderful.
8.0
The hotel was lovely and the breakfast which was included was delicious.
The parking lot was getting redone and you had a good walk from the hotel to your car.

All fine except the beds were pretty hard.
The cost. Alpenhof is not alone -- all properties at Teton Village are hugely overpriced.

I loved the staff, the hotel itself, and how close it was to Grand Tetons National Park

location is excellent
The property does not follow national Ada service dog regulations. They charge a huge pet fee even after being reminded that it is illegal to do so for certified service dogs.

I really liked the location and proximity to the slopes. The Alpenhof offers a unique menu of very well made items, and at a great price relative to what's otherwise available around town. The included breakfast includes many substantial items that will keep you going until dinner time.
Nothing. As of 3/31/2023 their online dinner menu is broken and only shows fondue for two. They have many more unique and delicious items available at a great price.

Great people. Seasoned staff truly cares about your experience during stay. Great restaurant. Ski on ski off. Warm room.
Nothing. But expect a dated facility. Built in 1969? In actuality, it's negative points were its charm. Some may not agree. You are paying a lot. So some may be expecting 4 Seasons - but face it it is 1/5 the cost and still pricey. We loved it.
Owner passed away. Feels like a business in limbo. Albeit service still rocks. Sometimes bar does not open due to staffing... nothing a higher rated accommodation wouldn't experience post covid.

Location. The Alpenhof is essentially the GMD of JHMR (GMD is an Alta Reference) aka its ground zero, you can't get closer to the Tram or the Gondola or more centrally located in JHMR. The Alpenhof is also the more 'affordable' place to stay (not counting the hostel)... and with that the least 'fancy' (aka: it's past its prime, but clean and it works.) Would I bring my wife here - no. Would I stay here on guy trips - yes (and I do, 1-3 times a season).
Breakfast staff WAY BETTER this season. Last season it was a 1 out of 10... this season we are in the 5-6 range. Significant improvement. Woohoo.
Beatrice (Basset Hound) was not around in the early am ... miss her presence in the mornings.
I've seen moose from the room Balcony. 5 min walk max to all restaurants in JHMR. Ample parking if you drive.
Generally the Alpenhof does not attract the "it" crowd... or the "hip" crowd (this honor belongs to others like the Continuum Hotel) but it means that the bar is relatively mellow and the hotel is generally quiet. I've never heard other guests through the walls or been bothered by guests smoking or partying on balconies... which is nice.
Restaurant: Breakfast - the menu is in dire need of being updated. It's been the same for years. The food is not great... after a couple mornings it gets old... really old. ...but its included with your room sooooooooooo. Dinner, just go anywhere else. My fav is Spur (Resy). Runner up is Corsa (Resy) - Make reservations long before you get here with all restaurants.
Mattresses (I've experienced this is multiple rooms) are saggy on the heavily used sides (they should be rotated but have never been... unless you get a room I've slept in ;-).
Furniture is from another millennium. Example - There are still TV hutches designed to hold a tube TVs in almost every room and the pull cords on bed lamps are rope/cotton and can not be cleaned :-(
Staff communicated that the current owners are looking for a buyer this year. Maybe someone will come in with a decent cash infusion and bring the old girl back to life. Of course with that she won't be the 'affordable' place to stay anymore... so pick your poison.
Elevator does not display a current license or record of maintenance, not does it have a call button either. You look for these things after you've been trapped in one for 2 hours (not at the Alpenhof)... so I generally take the stairs.
Don't be afraid to stay here, she's not a Motel 6, she has character... she's just past her prime.

clean, well maintained, great location, amenities, staff is second to none! great Apres Ski bar with band decked out in authentic German outfits…. super fun experience! can’t beat location close to lifts and gondola!

Location was great for skiers and people who prefer fewer shops and oeople. Due to a road closing it added 20 extra minutes to the parks. The hotel was quaint, clean, and offered in room wood burning fireplaces.
The dark room. Need brighter bulbs

The breakfasts were excellent!! The rooms were spacious. Having a fireplace was a plus and wonderful to use. The staff were courteous and friendly with excellent recommendations in Jackson. We had a wonderful customer experience! We will return the next time we are in the Teton area.
The only suggestion would be to replace the carpeting in the halls and common areas. It is getting a little worn and would make all the difference.
6.0
Decent hotel- clean room and it was large
Nice sauna and whirlpool and pool
Maybe a good location in ski season but we were there in fall.
Decent breakfast that comes with the stay
Way over priced for type of hotel. Needs updating - rugs worn throughout and bathrooms small. Room was advertised to have a balcony -which it did but it was shared and overlooked the parking lot. Staff was not friendly or helpful. Seemed to be understaffed
We were surprised at the distance to Grand Teton National Park. Took 40 minutes as the road near this hotel to park is closed for repairs so we had to loop around through Jackson Hole to get to park - which is 20 minutes away. In reading other reviews the staff was advertised to be helpful and friendly. We did not find this to be the case. Very quiet area with not a lot to do. Probably better in ski season. We drove into Jackson Hole for dinner every night.

We enjoyed the location and that is probably why the cost was so high. The room was comfortable and the bedding very restful. The breakfast was amazing.
We wished the pool opened earlier and stayed open later. 9 till 9 is not nearly enough when your guests are out and about most of the day. It would be nice to have enjoyed a nice soak before breakfast or after dinner. Overall the hotel seemed a little worn. The carpet on the main stairs was pretty dirty and I realize they deal with lots of skiers and outdoor shoes but the cost should cover the carpet being clean. For the price we were disappointed that the room had no fridge nor microwave so we could not save our leftovers during our vacation nor enjoy a late night snack. The hotel also does not offer a food vending machine of any sort and that would be handy when traveling with young people as I was. Also we were very disappointed that the hotel was not currently serving dinners using lack of staff as a reason when all the other restaurants in the Jackson area were open. Again, for the over $600 per night staff should not be an issue.

location was good , but Moose Wilson road is closed and we needed to go around the long way which was tedious
did not like dinner there

we had a lot of bags and it was difficult to get them up to our room

The location was amazing !
The parking was in a public lot but easily assecible we had to get our bags ourselves. No view which is what we expected. They charged me winter rate for an August visit.
8.0
The history and appearance.
The roof outside was leaking and if it rained some of the guest maybe at risk from slipping.
There’s no designated parking for the guests, had to park in public area.

Swiss style. Well maintained.
Value for money. We had to wait long time to order and get our food at breakfast. not enough staff to cover 4 tables and make lattes at the same time

Perfect location to enjoy Grand Teton!!! Fun atmosphere. Very clean. Breakfast and lunch were fantastic.
The rooms are dated, time to renovate and renew. The pool was closed in July?

Northern European style free breakfast was very interesting. Room was great
Better access to water to fill drink containers. Had to ask the front desk to get it from the kithchen, which they were more than willing to do.
