Opening hours of the swimming pool could have been longer.

Beautiful location and views, wonderful staff, delicious food.

The Château de Sanse is surrounded by nature and has a breathtaking view of the beautiful landscape. Cleanliness and light decoration : harmony between the old and the new materials. Cosy and enough common space with a small number of bedrooms, making it a comfortable place to stay. The size of the suite. Sandra, the owner, puts all of her energy to bring a memorable stay to the guests. By car easy reach to all the vineyards villages like Saint Émilion for example.

A better maintained swimming-pool : shower U/S and too many insects in the water. Wardrobe, coat-hanger missing in the bedroom : only one valet clothes available so we had to spread our garments instead. Lights above the bathroom sink and fan not working, which is tough with the summer heat. Towels and bed linen were not changed every day. Despite a breakfast served from 8, soft-boiled eggs not served before 9 because cooked using the gas-stove.

Superb location deep in the countryside - so peaceful! Beautiful warm stone buildings - gardens and a pool - a terrace to dine or lounge enjoying the lovely view. Plus warm friendly staff and excellent food and comfy beds. We wish we had booked for two nights!

No aircon but they gave us a large fan.

I can't praise this hotel enough, our stay was excellent in every way. Without exception, the staff are friendly, approachable, accommodating, speak good English and just make you feel comfortable. Our room was exactly as described, new comfortable furniture, excellent roomy bathroom ... perfect. We eat in three nights and the food was excellent quality with plenty of choice. Breakfast was similarly good, typically French, minimal but good quality, with homemade fresh products. The hotel is set in a beautiful, fairly remote location and has been recently refurbished. The swimming pool was warm, spotlessly clean with good surrounding furniture. Although the location and building are excellent, it's the staff that made our stay perfect. Highly recommended, thanks.

Nothing ... everything excellent.

The property, location, facilities were all exceptional. The pool area set above a vista of vine yards and rolling hills was just Devine. Sandra and Uri who have only recently bought the business were exceptionally attentive, friendly and helpful hosts. They have already invested vastly in upgrading the guest rooms and have lots of fantastic ideas for the future of the their beautiful Chateau.

Having first stayed at the hotel 13 years ago, the setting, views and quality of restaurant dining were all as outstanding as we remembered.

The hotel has been acquired by new owners and we found that some of the changes didn’t meet the standards that our memories expected. More than anything though we were hugely disappointed to be advised during dinner on night 1 that the restaurant would be unavailable on the Friday night 2 of our stay due to a staff reception - we felt that particularly in such a rural setting, we should have received advance notice of the requirement for us to research alternatives.
