The staff were very hard working and courteous.

The boat that was advertised was not what was given to us. In fact it was an old boat that had come back after repairs that very morning and was not one of Soma’s own boats but belonged to another company. The room and bathroom was filthy. Black water was coming out of taps and after shower we were all feeling scratchy. There were only 2 pieces of fish for 3 of us - when I pointed this out the staff said they had been informed of only 2 adults and no child (while booking was made for 2 adults and 1 six year old child)! The towels were bad. No toilet paper - thankfully we were carrying our own.

PURE CHEATING !!! Soma house boat There was no electricity for 1.5 hrs. Even no water. Moreover there was no one to listen. I asked for cancellation, but no response

The ride was magnificent and so was the food. The captain and cook were professional and helpful. They provided everything I asked for. The room was lovely, furnished in wood panels which I love.

The manager was the rude, defensive and argumentative type. Despite the booking stating my credit card will be charged, he refused to accept credit cards contrary to what is stated on booking.com saying he only takes cash because of covid.... I subsequently told him to update this on the website... It bothered me as I was very low on cash since not many people accepted credit cards this time in India. Secondly, the AC that was promised weren't operational during the said hour, it cut off between four and six which ruined my sleep. I was half awake during my morning cruise. Lastly, the boats were moored no where near the given address, when İ called their given number, it didn't work the first time round but I got through and someone was sent to pick me up, still worried me into thinking that I may have missed my ride. There seems to be too many levels of staffs who do not coordinate with each other.

The hosts Bipin and Bipin (Koshi) were wonderful! They are very helpful and makes you feel very comfortable. The boat was in good shape and well maintained. I definately recomend them, they are really good.

The bed was not a real double bed but two single beds were kept side by side, which shifted overtime. Otherwise the beds were comfortable. Another issue, not about this particular boat but a general problem with all houseboats, the smell of petrol! Since specially in busy times the boat traffic on the canals is high, you can smell burnt petrol almost similar to that on the busy roads. But let me repeat this is not a problem with this particular boat, but a problem in general.

Nothing at all except the people running the boat were good and courteous and made great food..

oh where should i start from 1. the pics that you see are far from what the boat was given to us 2. boat was unclean, cramped and makeshift.. it had cockroaches and lizards and everything just about functional 3. the bed and the room was very small, not even for a single person let alone couple

The backwaters were great and the boat was also neat and clean.

The heritage boat which I had booked was not available and an another boat was provided to me.

Mosquito problem

I was given a very old boat instead of the luxury boT booked. The staffs ans the food was nice

I booed a luxury boat and was given an old boat. I paid there was no refund

The boats are old. Charges are phenomenal. Bedsheets, towel, blankets not washed. High on expectations and low on delivery. Scenic beauty of the alleppey backwaters is good. There is no point staying a night on the boat. Instead one shoe go for a day ride.
