Howard Johnson Paragon Hotel Beijing

The Hotel is well located for exploring the city by subway. The rooms are clean although a little outdated. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent and as a guest we were entitled to a 30% discount. The happy hour deal in the bar between 5-7pm is a real bargain! Lots of drinks to choose from and a very relaxing environment. Josie Jing on reception was really helpful with assisting us with recommendations for restaurants.

Soundproofing not great in the bedrooms and I do have think the Hotel could benefit from having an obvious area where an experienced Concierge can be positioned to help with trip bookings and general advice.

Lovely staff. Bed was VERY comfortable!!

Breakfast was a challenge. There did not appear to be enough tables and in view of the volume of people a lot of items ran out quickly. Quality was very good though and they were trying their hardest to keep it topped up

Good rooms, cleaned daily, GREAT central location with plenty of places to eat and an accessible train station. Good on site restaurant that's very well priced especially with the discount. Nice friendly staff who are happy to help with whatever you need.

The Chocolate milkshake in the bar is a con, costs so much for such a tiny cup that's mostly full of ice. Really surprising since the restaurant is so fairly priced.

Thw bar downstairs was great and location was great

The buffet food every day was barely warm, more on the cold side. The window in the room was lealing after rain The bathroom shower screen kept falling off Bell boy doesn't speak English to help with taxi when you have a lot of international guests. Plus, the staff wanted to charge me for getting hair colour on the towel after I washed my hair. It was 1 towel, and I never had thos experience elsewhere. The carpets are old, and the hotel smells musty. The food in the restaurant 3rd floor is below average. The meat is so chewy and not enjoyable. .
