It is located in the district of Kufstein, has just under 4,300 residents, and welcomes visitors above the town of Wörgl in the Kitzbühel Alps. Nestled in a natural landscape that can certainly be described as wild and beautiful, it truly lives up to its name. In addition to the main town of Oberau, the villages of Niederau, Auffach, and Thierbach also invite visitors to enjoy a varied and active vacation. Farms, rustic huts, well-maintained hiking trails, and—last but not least—the charming mountain scenery define the landscape of the Wildschönau.
