Situated in North Eleuthera, this lovely villa for $435 per night is a great option for your next vacation. JUST FEATURED ON HGTV'S BAHAMAS LIFE! "Over The Rainbow" Vistas (unit 2A at the Buttonwood Reserve Oceanfront Condominium Resort) is a bottom-floor unit, that includes a full-surround two-ocean view, facing west over the Caribbean for the sunset and east to the Atlantic for the sunrise. Enjoy stunning ocean views from every room through eight-foot glass sliders and six-foot bay windows. The expansive private decks also feature spectacular sea views in every direction. Buttonwood Reserve has access to two beaches. On the Atlantic side is a world-class, 3-mile-long pink-sand beach, pristine without a single house. It is accessed via our private, golf-carts only driveway. All condominiums at Buttonwood come with access to a fleet of golf carts at no charge. On the Caribbean side of our property, almost in your front yard, is a second beach. This beach is small and rather rocky, so not so aesthetic, but the water is as calm as a lake and this shore is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing. Our resort-style pool is just steps from your condominium. This beautiful landscaped pool is heated for comfortable swimming year round. We just completed a new pickleball court! Our mini-gym is equipped with a multifunction smith machine cage with precision linear bearings, an Olympic weight rack, dip station, and a cable routed pulley system. Guests also have access to dumbbells and a fitness/yoga mat. This is an open-air gym (fully roofed and with three walls). The professionally decorated interior of this vacation rental is elegantly furnished, modern, warm and comfortable. The east end of the great room features a modern, open-plan, luxurious kitchen finished in stainless steel and black granite. The kitchen, dining area, and living room have magnificent ocean views in every direction, with water sparkling as far as the eye can see. The master bedroom is features a large upholstered window seat with magnificent panoramic views of the Caribbean, a perfect spot to relax with a book or morning coffee, or watch the sunset over the sea. The master is furnished with a king bed and equipped with an en-suite full bath. The master has a private door leading to the deck over the Caribbean. The guest bedroom also features a large window seat with a spectacular view, this one overlooking the Atlantic. The bedroom has a full en-suite bath (which can be accessed from the hall as well). It is furnished with twin beds that can be converted into a king. Buttonwood Reserve comes with kayaks and a paddle board for use on the sea or in our pond. Bicycles are also provided. Our retired groundskeeper, Patrick, is an expert fisherman and will take you out fishing in his boat for a half day or full day (extra charges apply.) Grill your catch fresh on our outdoor gas grill near the pool. Buttonwood Reserve is a 10 minute walk from three restaurants: Delish, Leorose Sunset Beach Bar and Grill, and Mel's Snack Shack. Just a mile from Buttonwood Reserve is the village of James Cistern, which has three grocery stores, a town dock where the fisherman bring their catch every day, a produce stand, and Kel D's sports bar. James Cistern is also the home of Stubb’s famous barbecue, now called Tamarind Tree Grill, every Friday and Saturday, which is not to be missed. Buttonwood Reserve is an easy 15-minute drive from Governor’s Harbour, the main town on the island. Governor’s Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Other restaurants in the area include Pascal’s at boutique resort Sky Beach Club, Tippy’s (international and fusion), 1648 Bar & Grille at French Leave (fine dining for lunch and dinner), The Buccaneer, The Rainbow Inn (steaks and Monday night brick oven pizza night), the Front Porch, Hot Buns bakery and sandwich shop, and Da Perk Café (café and sandwich shop). Eleuthera is most famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is safe and friendly.

The listing oversold this place a little, it was less luxurious than I was expecting. It was fine and the property manager Brett was great, I was just underwhelmed. First thing I noticed was it was not on the beach, it’s in a field. Which is my main complaint, I wanted to roll out of bed and drink coffee on the beach and have wine on the beach for sunset. Which brings me to the second point. Yes you can take a fairly long golf cart ride to the beach, but it’s not very well appointed. There were literally 25 wine glasses, but not a single plastic cup or cup with a lid to take the aforementioned beverages to the beach. Not any staples at all, the coffee maker didn’t work, there was no Kleenex, that kind of stuff. Then the golf cart broke, then we had a mouse and had to have traps all over the kitchen. That cost us two nights of sleep. First from hearing it eating our plantain chips then from hearing it scream caught in the sticky pad we had to figure out how to remove from the house at 2:00am. Finally the location on Eleuteria. I had never to been to this island before just Abaco and so was expecting remote, but not that I needed a car to leave the unit. I thought the beach was out the front door, but it’s actually out the front entrance of the property and across the street. The Atlantic beach is maybe a mile away, which is what the golf carts are for. You can’t take them anywhere else. My review says good for a longer stay because of this, if we had made the hour long drive to the good grocery store we would have had provisions and not needed to go out, but we didn’t want to spend a whole day doing that. the grocery stores it says are close are not grocery stores they are more mini marts and had no fruit or vegetables. Anyway since we didn’t really have anything but a can of Maxwell House from the mini mart, we had to get in the car for every meal and nothing really opens until noon that is close by. Most restaurants were about 20 minutes away. I’m making this seem like a super negative review, but the place is fine. Just trying to help people who’s first time to Eluthera, this might not be the place for you.

One of the prettiest beaches on the island! Our unit was very clean and nicely decorated. It was fun to drive the golf cart to the beach. Only reason there aren’t 5 stars is that we lost power 4 different days. A generator would be nice!

Bottom Line Up Front: No A/C in the master bedroom or living room for the entire stay, unable to secure house (master bedroom rear door would not lock) entire stay, finally unable to secure valuables in Master Room Safe (literally did not function, deadbolts where extended, meaning I needed a code to retract them.Recommendations:1- Maintenance personnel need to ensure all things are in working order prior to guest arrival2- Once the guest report issues to maintenance it is not the responsibility of the guest to continually follow up on facility issues nor is it the guest's responsibility to discover major mechanical problems on 1st day of vacation.

We booked 4 condos and the main lodge for my husband's 40th and our daughter's 13th. Matt, was absolutely awesome from day 1. He helped me with the price significantly. When we got there however, there was one room that I got instead of another from what I reserved. In the main lodge's loft, there is no AC which made it uncomfortable for my children, the washing machine was not hooked up and the stove, fridge and sink were dirty. In addition, there was no hot water. In a few of the other condos, there were lizards and bugs issue as well as lack of hot water.
I'm saying all this to let you know that no situation was perfect but this is by far the BEST AND NICEST PLACE IN ELEUTHERA. If you visit, you should do so at this property. They have a pool, golf carts, kayaks, paddle board and bicycles. You didn't have to do anything anywhere else on the island.
Regarding my complaints, they were all corrected as Matt was up after 12am when I made the complaints and by the morning almost everything was addressed. The bonus was that I was given another unit free of charge so I could enjoy more space for me and my guests. Brett never gave up in addressing our issues showing up several times per day to ensure everything works and we are comfortable. What a blessing.
Point is, this is the best place on the island and trust me, I know because we drove everywhere.

We rented the entire Buttonwood Reserve compound for a group of 16 friends. The place is amazing, and perfect for large groups who want a little more privacy than a large resort would allow. The condos were clean and stocked with all the items you'll need to survive your vacation. There is an amazing private beach on the Atlantic side, which was one of our favorite places to chill. I highly recommend Buttonwood, as it really is one of the best places on Eleuthera.

We just returned from a fabulous stay at Buttonwood Reserve in Eleuthera. This property is very tastefully decorated with excellent views of the Caribbean Sea to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Sun rises and sun sets are spectacular! We could not have been more pleased with our unit "Over the Rainbow". It is spacious, private, and offers beautiful water views from every window. The property, which sits on an elevated ridge, is well maintained and centrally located in close proximity to restaurants and grocery stores. We enjoyed the pool, which is heated, and we visited several unforgettable nearby beaches. We especially loved our trip to Governor's Harbor where we enjoyed breakfast at The Buccaneer and dinner at the 1648 restaurants. Eleuthera is a unique place with lots of local Bahamian charm. You can definitely feel the love here!

Our family (college aged daughters) absolutely fell in love with this place! We completely enjoyed using the golf cart to head over to our secluded beach as well as right out front to the calm carribean side where we looked for shells, swam, and snorkeled. The place was perfect! Highly recommend!!

Buttonwood Reserve, Eleuthera Bahamas
Our family has visited Eleuthera and stayed at Buttonwood Reserve 4 times now. Each time has been amazing. The Buttonwood property is beautiful with a wonderful heated swimming pool.
Each unit has a golf cart which you can use to travel to the Atlantic side beach. A new stairway has been added for easy access to the beach. The Atlantic beach surf can seem a bit rowdy at times, but in the mornings is usually calmer. I say this to encourage you to experience this beach because the sea glass, shells and coral pieces make for exciting snorkeling. We would all walk the pink sand beaches as a family and took 100's of pictures.
The Caribbean beach has a newly added dock which is a great addition. The kids (me too!) had loads of fun jumping off of it! The snorkeling along the shoreline presents a view of beautiful fish, shells, coral and is normally very calm. Both beaches have amazingly clear water! Some places have coral and rock, so you definitely want to bring beach footwear. I love my Crocs which helped me easily navigate entry and exit of the water.
This year we braved Lighthouse Point Beach and survived! The road out to Lighthouse Beach is very long, gnarly rock and eroded...but...if taken gently, and slowly, you will be GREATLY rewarded with the most amazing beach and cliff formations! Never did I think we were going to be stranded or stuck...but take your time and enjoy this incredible beach. Note: Bring extra camera batteries and memory cards :)
We also took courage and explored Queens Bath for the 1st time and picked our way down the coral slopes. Note: Have good shoes, take your time, prepare to take lots of pics. We swam in the naturally formed pools and it was a must see and do activity!
The people on Eleuthera are so friendly! Sonya and Brenda and Patrick and Perry are all simply the very best and made our 11 days in paradise so memorable!
You will want to rent a car for island and beach exploring and Roderick was wonderful.
Please don't miss out on this amazing island and Buttonwood Reserve for a truly relaxing and fun filled experience! We were truly blessed by its beauty and you will be too! :)

Wonderful experience at the Buttonwood
This was our third trip to Eleuthera and staying at the Buttonwood. My husband,son and I absolutely love it there!
Our condo was immaculately clean, well equipped, modern but still gave you a beach feel.
The grounds are beautiful and the pool was warm and clean and refreshing after a day in the sea and sand.
We rarely if ever revisit a place we’ve gone before but because of the trust and comfort level we have staying here it is someplace we love revisiting. The beaches are pristine, the people are kind and friendly and it’s the perfect place to decompress for tranquility.

Buttonwood was a fantastic place to stay for my husband and me. The decor is light, airy and so well done. Everything you might need was in the condo and the availability of the golf cart was so nice to take to the beautiful beach. The caretaker, Sonia, was helpful and kind and the rest of the staff including James and Perry were also welcoming and friendly. We had a great time on the island and would recommend Buttonwood to anyone looking for a beautifully-maintained home with gorgeous views.

We just returned from a week's stay at beautiful Buttonwood. The condo was very nicely decorated, very comfortable and perfectly suited to our family of 4. Its central location was great for exploring beaches both north and south of James Cistern. The pool was a perfect way to end each day. We took advantage of every amenity Buttonwood offered - private golf cart for enjoying the spectacular Atlantic beach, kayaking and paddle boarding on the Caribbean side. The manager Tia was so responsive and welcoming and caretaker James a most hospitable host. We highly recommend this property for exploring the beauty of Eleuthera.
