The Inn at Poplar Corner is an incredible 5 Bedroom\/5 Bath Vacation Home on Chin
About this house rental
Located in Chincoteague Island, this charming house for $296 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. The Inn at Poplar Corner - Because Time wasted at the Beach is very well spent....... History. Charm. Allure. Just a few of the things that make The Inn at Poplar Corner such a special Island Retreat. This incredible 5 Bedroom and 5 Bath Home has quite a story to tell. In its past life, it was a wildly popular Bed & Breakfast. A Local Family owned The Watson House, and was so blessed with Guests they bought two other Cottages in the early 1900's to accommodate them, but they still didn't have enough room! This is when The Inn at Poplar Corner came to be in 1995. The Inn was modeled after a breathtaking Historic Victorian in Suffolk, Virginia. Striking in every possible way, this lovely Home is now living its next chapter as a wonderful Vacation Home for your enjoyment..... Located in the heart of the Island at the corner of Poplar and Main, you can walk to restaurants, shops, downtown, and to the Robert Reed Waterfront Park - home of the best sunsets you will find anywhere. This Home oozes Victorian Charm from top to bottom. The huge Wrap-Around Front Porch with comfy Wicker Furniture directly faces the Bay, and beckons you to sit a spell and take in the Views and Bay Breezes. The Inn at Poplar Corner is just perfect for several couples to share, a large family, or 2 small families. On the main floor, there is a comfortable Living Area with Flat Screen Cable TV with Google Chromecast and Free WiFi - a great place to unwind after a day of fun at the Beach. The Hardwood Floors throughout the Inn are simply stunning. Down the hall, the enormous Dining Room seats 10 comfortably, and makes for incredibly special mealtimes. Just off the Dining Room is the spacious, very well-stocked Kitchen, which will definitely please a crowd with 2 Dishwashers and 2 Ovens! You'll find everything you need here to make mealtime super easy - including a second eating area perfect for a quick breakfast before hitting the Beach. Bedroom 1 on the first floor has a Twin w/Twin Trundle, and is a perfect kids room. As you wander to the 2nd level, you will find yourself captivated by the decor and charm of the Victorian era. Each upper Bedroom has a name of its own, and all are Master Suites with Private Master Baths. The Lavender Room features a comfy Queen Bed, Sitting Area, and Private Master Bath. This Bath will wow you with a huge Jacuzzi Tub, Walk-in Shower, and so much space! Bedrooms 3 and 4, just down the hall, are The Baywatch Room and The Main View. The Baywatch also has a Queen Bed and Private Master Bath, but also add in some lovely views of the Chincoteague Bay. The Main View mimics The Baywatch, but has French Doors that lead to a Private Balcony with more Bay Views. Wandering up to the next level, yes - there is another one, you'll find the 4th Bedroom, Grande Gables. This unique Bedroom has a Queen Bed, Sitting Area, and very special Master Bath. French Doors open into a one-of-a-kind Master Bath with Jacuzzi Tub, Walk-in Shower, and very cool layout. Also on this floor is a very special Sitting Area, more of a Nook - a great place to sneak away with a good book. The Inn at Poplar Corner has some other awesome features, as well. The Owners have thoughtfully provided 8 Beach Bikes for you to enjoy, as well as a variety of Beach Gear. Coming this Fall - The Inn will offer Experiential Weekends - Cooking Classes, Yoga, Baking, and some getaways for the Artist in the group. Stay tuned for more info to come! The Inn at Poplar Corner - We travel not to escape Life, but for Life not to escape us...... Seaside Vacations does not allow group rentals to guests under age 25. My siblings and I brought our mother for the weekend to celebrate her 70th & what would have been our parents 50th Anniversary. Even with the threat of a hurricane it was a wonderful weekend.
The house was exactly as described, it was clean, unique, and we would definetly stay again.

My wife, myself, her mom, my dad, and our two adult children all very much enjoyed our time in Chincoteague and our stay at the Inn at Poplar Corner. It is a beautiful ex-B&B and we very much appreciated that we had the whole house to ourselves. It is also very conveniently located and we walked to nearby restaurants and shopping as well as the local supermarket and coffee shop. I cannot recommend the Inn highly enough.
We cooked all of our breakfasts and about half our other meals and found the eat-in kitchen and adjoining (and enormous) dining room quite functional and pleasant to be in.
I would like to point out a few 'surprises'. We hadn't quite understood how spacious the third floor Grande Gables bedroom would be and that the pictured Sitting Area/Nook was in addition to the bedroom suite - my wife and I essentially 'took over' that floor. Second, the ground floor bedroom with the twin beds is essentially a maids quarters and while convenient for someone for whom stairs are somewhat difficult, it is not on par with the other bedrooms. Lastly, the county in which the house is located simply doesn't recycle glass - we misunderstood the wording to mean that they didn't pick it up. Taking glass to the local recycling center was futile.

Great location, within walking distance to so many places to eat and shop. Great size for our family. The dining table seated 14 which was plenty big enough for our group. Very enjoyable stay!

Well stocked kitchen and plenty of room for the family.
Bedrooms have ample room and the jetted tubs are large.

We were a group of 7. The 1st floor bedroom was quite smaller then the other 4, but we didn't need to use it so it didn't matter. The furnishings were beautiful, the kitchen was stocked well and having 2 dishwashers was great! If we vacation in Chincoteague again, we will definitely check availability here!

This is a lovely property. It is spacious and inviting. It was great for our group. We enjoyed its location within walking distance of downtown as well as restaurants. There was plenty of parking. The home was clean and very well stocked. The kitchen had all you could need, plus there were pack-n-plays and roll away beds for extra guests. The routine maintenance could use some attention. There were several issues while we were there. We contacted the management company and some they were able to fix (the running hall toilet and broken 3rd floor air conditioning) some they were not (the 2nd oven being out of service). But they did their best to address the issues. We would come again.

Unlike any rental I have ever stayed at, this property was a bed and breakfast prior to being a vacation rental, and it seems the owners left it as intact as possible, even down to the old pamphlets and stationary. We had some challenges with the bikes, but there were supplies to fix and considering we didn't have to rent any bikes at all for 7 of us, no complaints! It was a good fit for our family.

We enjoyed being on Main st this year. The house was great and had everything we needed, thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the porch morning and evening.

Great location in historic home
The property is just minutes walking to downtown Main street and the lively Maddox street. The property management kept checking in with us and when the fridge ice-machine wasn't working sent someone in to fix it right away. We also made use of the bikes in the garage which is a great way to get around the island. There was a charcoal Weber and beach toys and chairs in the garage as well. The furnishings and appliances are probably what was in place when the old Bed&Breakfast was converted to a VRBO; however, I wish a few things had been updated. For example, the AC units in the rooms were very noisy and inefficient (though it is nice that each room has its own unit). The shower curtains did not fit the showers so would blow in and cling to you. On the flip side, the bathrooms were all very spacious with huge tubs. The second oven was out of order, we didn't need a second oven but if you do, be sure to check in with management. Lastly, we ordered the linens/towels. The towels were great but the sheets were not great (felt like hospital sheets), so if you are picky about thread-count, bring your own. Overall, for a large group, a great place to stay.

The Inn at the Poplar Corner is a very nice house for groups like us to stay for a vacation. We have 9 persons from 5 families, and the 5 Bedroom / 5 Bath vacation home was just perfect for us. The Kitchen with two dish washers, the dining room, the bedrooms with Jet Both Tub, and the temperature control, are all great! The weather was also wonderful. We enjoyed cooking, playing cards, sightseeing, biking, crabbing, and picture taking. It was a wonderful and unforgettable vacation on Chincoteague Island !

Off season oasis
The property was very nice, just as advertised. Old world style with creature comforts, like AC and whirlpool tubs in every room.
There was a handy 110 outlet outside, right next to the parking space, perfect for scooters and the like.
We had 7 people with plenty of room to spread out. We could have easily fit a couple more.

It's rare to go on a beach vacation and feel that your rental home has room to spare! We were very comfortable and enjoyed the bathrooms with the big jetted tubs.

4 bedrooms not 5 as advertised. So called 5th bedroom is more like down stairs storage room with junky single bed. Beautiful old 3 story house with steep stairs, antique furniture and rickety, fragile chairs. No view of waterfront. Outstanding rap around porch is best feature!
Other large homes on the island offer more bang for your bucks.

Our group of 7 friends stayed at the inn for a weekend getaway. The inn is beautifully decorated. Our favorite place in the whole house was the wrap around porch. Although the cleaning company could have paid a little more attention to details, it was clean enough and that would not prevent us from staying there again or recommending it to others. We had a fabulous time.

The house was nice. With 5 rooms and 5 master baths it was very spacious. There is construction across the street so there are daytime noises, view is obstructed, and there is dust that gets in the house and porch furniture. There are no linens provided. The blankets are small and 1 per room, even the room with 2 twin beds. The pillows are hard and only about 1” thick. You need to pack all your own bedding. The beds Are fairly comfortable. The one on the 3rd floor Squeaks and bangs the wall with the smallest movement. The bed in the lavender room just squeaks. The hot water held up while we were there with a party of 10, even with using the jacuzzi tubs. That was impreSsive. The showers have weird nozzles and aren’t that great. The one on the 3rd floor can only be used if you are 5’ or shorter. There are individual a/c units in each room, which was great. There is no comfortable furniture in the house for lounging except 1 sofa. The decorations are beautiful and the house is a real treAt. I think the worst part was that we arrived and everything was dusty like we were the 1st guests of the season but there was an envelope the cleaning crew asking for a tip. But the note on the fridge said we had to clean everything including sweeping all dirt off the rugs. Also all dishes had to be washed AND put away with a 10am checkout. That’s tough. No wonder the dishes were all put away dirty. We had to wash almost everything before using it. Also there was no toilet paper in any of the 5 bathrooms and about a 1/4 of a roll of paper towels. There was a welcome bag that included 3 rolls of toilet paper ... for a party of 10 people? Also there is 1 tv that is outdated in the living room and another very small one in another bedroom. Overall it was a nice house and we enjoyed it. There is ample room. I was just not pleased with the level of expectations put on us as guests to clean, provide all TP and paper towels, and provide all our own bedding. That’s a lot to pack in addition to food and clothes.

Enjoyed our stay!
We had a great time during our week at the Inn at Poplar! We enjoyed the historic nature of the house and the wrap-around porch the most. The formal dining room worked really well for big family dinners and the kitchen was well-appointed. The highlight of the house was the individual suites with big tubs! Kids and adults both loved!

Perfect getaway in a low key destination
My extended family spend a lovely week at the house, which was an ideal place during a pandemic to minimize contact with others. The management company, Seaside Vacations, was fantastic and provided excellent support! Although you have to plan and drive over to another barrier island to get to the beach, it was a great neighborhood to walk and ride bikes.

Fantastic beach house
We rented this last minute and were so glad that we did. We could not have been happier. There was a ton of room for our entire family (3 adults, 3 kids). Main Street is a short walk away. The bikes, beach chairs, and Beach umbrellas in the shed were a great addition. Can’t wait to come stay here again
