Problems with cleanliness and host

Very modern stylish property. Lovely large well equipped kitchen. Comfortable and good location 15 minutes walk from central Victor Harbour with parking available on the property site for free. There were also nice touches within the property including a very informative guest book and a coffee machine with pods.

Multiple issues with cleanliness of the property: Outside table and chairs were covered in bird poo which we spent a long time cleaning before being able to use. Outside BBQ was filthy and covered in deep layers of grease to the point we were unable to use. We also went to shower in the second bathroom and found multiple large black hairs in the bath, around shower head and on wall of the bathroom. Informed the owner of the above. We were overall very disappointed with what we found a pretty unprofessional response. He insinuated he did not believe us regarding the BBQ although did kindly agree to a small refund as compensation to the inconvenience which was appreciated given we had purchased two days worth of food specifically to BBQ before arriving. He otherwise did not acknowledged the fact we had needed to spend an hour cleaning the outside area to use it in the same message regarding the BBQ. He furthermore completely ignored a separate message regarding the large amount of hairs found within the bath/ shower. We found this attitude very disappointing. The property clearly is a nice property but on this occasion due to some poor cleaning in and outside there were issues. Instead of being apologetic regarding this , he either insinuated he did not believe us or completely ignored us. Both of which we find inappropriate responses. Hopefully he can take this as feedback and improve his response with guests in the future as the property otherwise has lots of things going for it.

overall was a wonderful stay. would recommend to others. fully equipped for convenience. make sure to book for extended

close to town centre and everything available made it feel like home.

laundry and ensuite combined makes for lack of privacy especially when staying with others.

Beds very uncomfortable. Outside areas , furniture etc covered with bird droppings and a dead bird in rafter. Very unhygienic.

It was a beautiful home lovingly decorated & maintained.

Loved the layout & how it was presented. Beds were comfy & the showers were excellent. When we arrived, there was a strudel type thing waiting for us, which was tasty & a lovely thought.

We only have a couple of “notes”. A note on or near the large switch for the stove would have been helpful. Also the wood box for the fire pit was empty, so a check on that every now & then would also be good & maybe the back deck could be hosed down or a broom quickly run over the area would be nice (there was a number of cobwebs on the windows etc).

Very relaxing few days away with friends

Location is excellent and it was wonderful to be treated to a delicious fruit bun for afternoon tea

Unfortunately we were unable to reach mugs and glasses from the glassed door cupboard. Even the tallest of our group, 5ft 7in, couldn't reach so we had to resort to buying mugs and glasses. This is our second time staying here and even with having to purchase mugs etc we had a great stay.

Great house, great location, plenty of space, well equipped, easy check-in

Great house for a family getaway. Plenty of space for 2 families, comfortable beds, clean & decent bathrooms, kitchen well equipped for making meals, and a nice private garden and terrace for bbq and relaxing. Easy 5 minute drive to the shops, the beach and the sights of Victor Harbour.

Just a few maintainence issues... the shower taps fell off, and turned the wrong way for hot and cold. The shape of the shower taps were also difficult for my elderly parents to use. Not enough dishwasher tabs provided for the whole stay. The terrace hadn't been properly swept by the cleaners and we found quite a few bits of broken glass on the floor. And the BBQ needed a good clean before we could use it. Otherwise tidy and well maintained.

Beautiful accommodation with plenty of room and great facilities. Loved the fruit scroll on arrival Very clean and spacious and well worth the cost

We arrived on a 40 degree day and disappointed that only room without much needed cooling was the kids room :(

Exceptional property for value.

Keys obtained from a lock box - couldn't be easier. Property was well maintained and clean. Beds were comfortable.

Given we were on motorcycles the pebble driveway. This is our only negative but understand their use.

Girls Weekend Away.

The accommodation is situated perfectly within Victor Harbour. As a group of friends we have been staying in Victor for a few years now and this one has been the best. Excellent amount of facilities and being pet friendly too is a bonus.

It was hard getting some items out of the glass door cupboard as the tallest of our group is 5ft 7in but by using tongs we got what we needed.

The purple door was very neat and tidy had everything that you needed and plenty of room.

The beds were a little uncomfortable being a cheaper construction The mattresses are not high-quality. Also the pillows were cheap and nasty flat, lumpy horrible things. An investment in upgrading is definitely needed in regards to pillows and mattresses. Also there is no clothes dryer in the fully equipped laundry, Although there was a clothes horse you couldn’t really dry anything as the weather wasn’t great or really anywhere located in the house for drying it took days for things to dry. also due to the nature of the clothes horse made it hard to dry both towels and clothing for six people. it wasn’t ideal we had to take our washing to a laundry mat for drying. not that this is a major issue I just thought it was bizarre as it was the first property that we stayed in that had excessive rules such as how to wash and use certain cups, The welcoming in letter was several pages long with rules on how to enjoy your stay. we also were asked to strip the bedding and place it in the laundry along with our towels (the towels were a no brainer) but have never been asked to strip bedding before?? but happily did so. The mirror situation in bathroom and bathroom/laundry are small and in awkward positions. there isn’t anywhere to put skincare, lotions toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair tools etc they had to be packed back into bags and pulled back out for every use. although there were wardrobes and one dresser that located in a bedroom there wasn’t much storage for clothing especially in the bunk room. in one of the rooms there where rules on how to use the storage and asks not to put certain items in this area.

Great pet and family friendly accommodation

Facilities were amazing. It's a beautiful house with a great backyard. The home has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Will definitely stay there again!

The quilts were very thin so got cold the first night so made sure we turned the bedroom heaters on the second night. They were perfect for heating the rooms. There are a couple of pavers loose on the back outside stairs which were a bit of a trip hazard, but the rest of the yard was amazing.
