If you would like to shop or are looking for other dining opportunities the town of Port Perry will provide what you are looking for and more just a short 10-minute drive by either car or you can take your boat to the public docks in the heart of town. Feeling lucky? Venture a short 5-minute car ride up to the Blue Heron Casino and try a large variety of games of chance. You can easily drive to the cottage on well-paved roads. There is ample parking on the new driveway. A gentle slope leads you to the chalet perched over the lake for fantastic views and spectacular sunsets. Gentle stairs lead you down to the dock where you can put your boat (if you have one) on the lift that is available to you. As the host to this little piece of heaven, I will greet the guests when they arrive on Sunday afternoon and set them up for the week. For shorter stays during non-peak times we will try to be here for your arrival and give you a tour. Arrangements will be on a case-by-case basis. The stay was pleasant, Lawrence & Stacey were very nice hosts. But a few things need to be outlined for awareness such as the fire pit & beach area are not private in the sense that you need to coordinate with the home owners because their family actually uses this particular area as well! Also to get to the water (beach-fire pit-dock) it's actually a few landings-stairs down from the cottage. The slope to the cottage from the front is not so gentle! You need to be cautious while going down & up (AB workout for sure!) Especially with children (walking and/or holding them) and/or carrying bags especially if it's raining so hold the railing. Do not recommend for children under 5 years old because of the layout of the cottage inside (few things can be dangerous-kitchen while cooking because of small space & layout) & location (landings-stairs & gentle slope!). Saying that the view is lovely & the grounds are beautiful (Dock for fishing/swimming/kayaks). The Reno's are fairly new inside and the cottage has a fairly new deck & bathroom (great water presser but pump is bit noisy). If you do not mind some of the above mentioned, this place is very affordable and grounds are very beautiful, great view from deck and/or from beach area, nice BBQ, nice deck layout & neighbourhood is peaceful.

We had a great getaway at this cabin! Clean, exactly as pictured, with everything you need. Wifi, Netflix, and waterfront. The dock was beautiful! Perfect for lounging and fishing (so many different kinds of fish to catch!). Hosts were welcoming and friendly. Our dog quickly became friends with the hosts’ puppy. The location was also perfect - only an hour from Toronto and only minutes away from lovely downtown Port Perry. We had gelato at the Perfect Scoop and fish and chips from Captain Georges (great recommendation from the host). We visited a nearby farm (Willowtree) which we also loved. Thanks for having us!

Could have been better
Location was very good, not suitable for anyone with mobility issues though. Bunkie fell short, not as described in listing thought it had a bedroom two beds and a futon in fact no bedroom and two futons not good for three people one of futons was broken, but Lawrence's wife Stacy replaced it the next day with a fold up bed and did address all our other problems very nice person and easy to deal with. , We arrived early and simply wanted to put something in freezer but wouldn't let us. Could have been a lot cleaner, when you opened windows really bad webs and dead bugs dishes and pots not clean had to crape off food. Also there was no storage at all for food, clothes etc. we even bought an over the door clothes hanger and left it for bathroom door. Also window in bathroom was broken and although the shower was great it leaked on the floor because it was missing proper trim around door. Stacy was accommodating and even let me use one of their kayaks. All in all we did enjoy our stay has a beautiful little deck the vegetation should also be cut back a lot more to see view and decrease bugs

July getaway
Lawrence and Stacy were such amazing hosts. They made me, my husband Erik and our dog, Larry feel right at home for the entire week. They were extra careful with cleanliness during COVID, which was especially comforting for me at 33 weeks pregnant. The cottage is cosy, clean, and stays cool during the hot summer days. It’s modest in size, but perfectly comfortable for a couple. The view of the sunset from the private deck or the lake is spectacular. We spent full days swimming and relaxing by the lake, and then had fires at night. The breeze from the lake even keeps the mosquitos away at night! Our dog Larry has a blast swimming and playing with their very cute little pup, Barkley. Would recommend as a very relaxing and comfortable stay for a couple looking to get away for a week. Thanks to you both, Lawrence and Stacey, for a very memorable babymoon we weren’t sure would be possible during COVID. You really helped us relax and unwind - so needed!

Port perry getaway !!!
Lawrence and Stacey, thanks for an amazing visit. We couldn’t have asked for more. The cottage was great. We had such a great time and hope to visit again. Kyle was very appreciative for all the assistance in helping with the fish. Again thanks for sharing your hidden gem.

Amazing stay!
Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed spectacular sunsets while our camp fire was burning away. Swimming right off the dock to cool down. We didn't fish ourselves, but we could see why fishing is so popular there. You should have seen the size of the fish. We walked down to the marina and enjoyed lunch on the patio. Great food and beer on tap at a decent price point. We feel confident in recommending a stay here!

Nice stay
I thought it would be bigger. It’s a tiny room with washroom but very cozy and comfortable for 2 people. Has a little patio where u can breakfast and bbq. You have steps in front of the cottage leading straight to the deck and lake. Had a lovely 2 days swimming and lounging on the deck. Owners are very friendly and helpful. We don’t drive so they dropped us twice to the town and casino and taught us to build a fire in the fire pit. Very kind family. Will definitely go bk when I can.

Cozy cottage with great views and amazing fishing
Very cozy Cottage. Amazing Lake Views and Primo Carp Angling.
The owners are great hosts and even went as far to pre-bait the area in advance of our arrival.
Carp Fishing was productive and the other wildlife (Herons, Blue Jays, Opsreys, etc) made for some great viewing.
10/10 would stay again.

A Hidden Gem on Lake Scugog
It was a lovely weekend get away at this quaint little cabin. The hosts were very welcoming and made you feel at home. A beautiful view from your own private deck overlooking Lake Scugog. Just the right size for 2 people and well equipped with the essential amenities. 10 minute walk to the marina were there is a restaurant and beach. Only a 15 minute drive into Port Perry. We will certainly be going back for another get away.
