This property first of all was well maintained and has an excellent location with a beautiful view, especially from the balcony.
The first issue for us was the rental agreement which was extremely detailed, was on paper with no online option, and felt like we were signing a long-term rental agreement for an apartment.
Secondly, there was no notification on the listing that linens were not provided but was detailed in the rental contract with an extra fee. After paying the additional fee, on top of an already pricey rental fee, we did get linens prior to our arrival.
Thirdly, essential items were not included in the home such as hand soap, dish soap, paper towels, or enough toilet paper for our stay. We did notify the managing company about the toilet paper issue and they stated that if we had checked in during normal business hours we would have been provided more.
Lastly, the cleanliness of the property was lacking. There was a clump of hair stuck to the wall in one of the showers and grease on the stove top when we arrived.
Overall, property is a great family property with great location.

Loved the house and the location! I just have one itsy bitsy complaint. I had emailed through VRBO a question regarding the property and no one replied. I found the listing on VRBO and there was a $700 fee! I would think someone would have the courtesy of a reply with that astronomical fee. Also, there was zero instructions on how to check in. I had to reach out to Carolina Realty for instructions. However, I will say that the staff was incredibly nice at Carolina Realty and would definitely stay at one of their properties in the future.

This was our second year in this home. It served us well both years. The location is great and the views are perfect. We had 5 adults and 2 children during our stay with no spacing issues. The kitchen is stocked with what you need for the week. The only addition I would make is containers for leftovers for those who cook in. We had left some behind last year but they were gone this year. The walk to the beach is not far and the foot washing station and outdoor shower are great for your returns from the beach. We would recommend this house to others and would stay in it again.

The property was as explained - great location, very clean when we got there, and overall a good experience. The washing machine did break while we were there which was an inconvenience and wasn't repaired until after we left. We also arrived at the check-in office 2 hours early and even though the property was finished being cleaned, the office would not hand us the keys until 4 pm on the dot. I understand that it's policy, but as a small business owner myself, if it were me I would've handed over the keys and not made the guests wait in the lobby. Just seemed a bit silly. But overall, we would return.

To say this location is amazing doesn't cut it. It was the very best place to be in my opinion. Right in the middle of OBX, and all I can say is pay the extra and stay right on the beach if you can. It was 100% worth it! We would see people walking for blocks with all their beach gear to get there....we just grabbed our towels and went. The grown kids could go down when they wanted, we could see them from the top deck. It was so very pleasant, relaxing and just a perfect vacation. The sunrises each morning were amazing! Such an amazing view!

Carolina Shores was great upon check-in. Didn't need any assistance throughout week because the house was in great working order. Ocean Breeze is the perfect size house for a family. It could get cramped inside with more than 5/6 people in the common area. However, you're at the beach! Why would you spend the day inside when the sand and water are at your toes (even in November)? Updating with some minor cosmetic fixes inside, this house and location will not disappoint.

We have been coming to obx for a long time. We usually rent in Southern Shores, but wanted an ocean front home instead. This is our first time staying in this property.. The location is fantastic! The kitchen is also well stocked. It was a nice place. There were 8 of us, 4 adults, 2 teens, and 2 kids. It was tight, but we made it work. It does need some updating and a good cleaning. We did have an issue with the down stairs bedroom ceiling leaking in the middle of the night and had to scramble to get everyone switched around. We contacted the emergency # for the rental property listed on the fridge and no one responded until the next morning. We felt that that should've been handled more promptly. Once they did respond it was corrected and had no other issues. We would consider staying here again.

There were 6 of us and this house was perfect!! We were within walking distance to the pier and the house is really secluded with private beach access and not having to worry about getting a spot on the beach to enjoy! The washer didn't work, I made a call to the office and it was fixed within the same day! We would definitely recommend this house to others and would stay again! Amazing views from both the upstairs and downstairs balcony!

The house was great for a group of 4 adults and 3 kids. Small, and not sure a much bigger group would be comfortable. Pictures are accurate. View of ocean is great, and the decks are perfect! House was clean and in good condition for the most part, but does show some age and wear and tear. We enjoyed the covered deck areas during the only rainy day during our stay. Beach access was very easy. The stay was exactly as we expected. Located a good distance from public beach access in either direction makes for a very uncrowded beach! Easy walking distance to Avalon pier. We visited I got your Crabs restaurant twice during our stay for takeout, it's very close, and very good! And the view from the decks while you eat doesn't get any better! Everything with Carolina Shores went well. Great spot if you like relaxing on the beach!

Great location, terrible beds.
Not a bad place to stay if you can handle the beds that badly need replacing. As in -you slide to the middle bad. The kitchen was well stocked. There was a maintenance person who entered the property while we were on the beach, without notice. He returned the next day too but gave us warning the second time. He was just checking the thermostat wasn't cranked up I think. The main bathroom sink had a bad leak through the wall into the bedroom and was unusable the last couple days. It was unfixed when we checked out. So bottom line, great location, well stocked kitchen, but badly in need of updating furniture in bedrooms. Also hot tub was broken at 100 degrees. You couldn't adjust the temperature.

Enjoyable stay
Our adult family of four enjoyed our stay at this house. Great location only steps from the beach. Kitchen had a great selection of cooking/dining tools and we enjoyed using the gas grill to cook out. Property also had great beach umbrella that was helpful.
Didn’t use the hot tub as there were no instructions for removing the cover. But appreciated the covered parking for our cars and convenient location to Wright Brothers Memorial and Jockeys Ridge state park and shopping.

This was our 4th visit to this rental home. It is the perfect location. However, when we arrived we were told we needed to wait until 4pm to check in as the home was still being cleaned. Our surprise to get there only to find the home was filthy. Crumbs all over the counters and floors. Used coffee grounds still in the coffee machine, the microwave and refrigerator had spills and food all over them. Disappointed!
