This was one of the cleanest cabin/hotels we ever stayed in, it is centrally located to everything and very peaceful. The views are amazing, there is a beautiful walking trail out back, with a stream running beside it. The owner George has bikes you can use to ride, as well as an inground pool, hot tub and fire pits. This was perfect for our family and if we ever come back, we will stay here again! Also if you have any questions George is very knowledgeable about the area, he gave us great advice on how to go through Custer state park and see everything and told us about the nighttime lighting ceremony at Mount Rushmore (which I highly recommend) this was a big help since there are so many ways you can drive through and possibly miss things!

The location was perfect for sightseeing, and cabin was right off the Mickelson trail.

Beautiful location nestled in the green hills, main visiting attractions nearby. The cabin was spacious with two bedrooms, fully stocked kitchen. Wonderful family who runs the facility. George is always available for anything we need and knows everything there is to know about what to see, where to go and what to avoid!
There could have been paper towels in the kitchen

Location's nice, just outside of Hill City; lovely views from the deck at the rear of the building.
The owners have refused to refund our deposit, instead claiming that we broke a call inside the shower. He's said that it looks as if it's been kicked at knee height - which is an absolute lie. When we left, that room was cleaner than when we arrived (they expect you to clean it - which is fine, we didn't make a mess and used only the fridge to store drinks) and there was no damage made by us. We'd have noticed if we'd come in to contact with a wall using sufficient force to break it! The hospital bill would've been a clue! Having endured an email conversation with the owner (insults and aggression), I've now handed the matter over to Booking.com and my credit card provider. I won't deal with this nasty man anymore. BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!

Cabin was very run down and smelled musty. Traffic noise was quite loud, even inside cabin. Holes in walls and tears in wallpaper. Had to leave early and lost 2 nights deposit. Not at all worth what they charge in my opinion.

Close to other towns
Having to clean when you're charged at a similar price to others where you're not required to clean, I don't mean picking up after yourself but deep cleaning.p

The place was clean it is not fancy but it was priced right. The owner was very knowledgeable about the area. He was nice to answer some questions about the places to see in the area. This was a good locations to see Crazy Horse , Mount Rushmore , Black Hills National Park and Hill City is a nice town to just walk through. We were not at the cabin much except to sleep. They had some nice amenities like bicycles and gold mining pans that you could use. We didn't use the pool because we didn't have time. There is a very nice trail behind the property that is excellent for running or walking and it takes you into Hill City if you want to just stretch your legs. The cabin is situated in a beautiful area. The property is very clean and nicely kept.
You have to put a deposit down for the cabins and if you don't clean them properly before you leave then you don't get the deposit back. The cleaning is not a normal thing that you do at a hotel/motel but it was not hard to keep the cabin clean and get your deposit back. Just follow the rules posted in the cabin. It took my group about 20 minutes to wipe down the surfaces and appliances and sweep, vacuum and swifter the cabin. Of course we didn't cook at all in the cabin so it would probably take a little longer if you had to wash dishes. The only thing that I noticed and was somewhat worried about was I didn't see a smoke / carbon monoxide detector in the cabin even though it has a gas heater and I think a gas hot water heater.

The convenient location of the property. Our room was spacious, clean and having a second bathroom made the situation for four adults was great. The room/apt was clean.
The is one wall air conditioner in the kitchen. Sometimes it worked…sometimes it didn’t. During the day it was hot! But weren’t in the apt after 10am most days. We would think we were leaving the air on cool so by the time we came back it was cool in the apt. But that wasn’t the case. And since it was in the kitchen the cold air couldn’t be felt in the bedrooms or bathrooms on the other side of the apt. However, at night, the temperature drops significantly and it is cooler (this is August btw). And both bedrooms have a ceiling fan and windows. Hubby and I always slept with the bedroom door closed, window open and fan on. My gf in the other bedroom, the same except she DID NOT open her window. Our other gf, she slept in the living room area on the hideaway beds with the ceiling fan and a fan she brought to keep cool. She had no complaints.

The staff were so helpful. The location was perfect. It had a personal grill and picnic table. The kids enjoyed playing volleyball and going to the playground. There were bikes to check out. Don't forget the swimming pool.
I have bad back, the bed was a little hard.

Cabins were clean and had comfortable beds.
Awesome location! 15 minutes from everywhere to explore in the area. Spent many days exploring Custer State Park. Get out early so you see more amazing wildlife.
Free bikes we signed out and rode on the gorgeous trail just behind cabins. Sooooo quiet here too minus the road traffic in the day when everyone is out exploring.
Some folks complained about owners detailed rules but for us we totally didn't mind at all as it ensured there was a very nice crowd of people in the cabins. Zero loud partying people which we greatly appreciated after days of hiking and that meant great sleep.
Full size fridge for groceries and coffee maker and fully stocked kitchen for meals.
Nice pool. I loved the rustic vibe of this place and would definitely stay here again!
Thank you George and Jocelyn!
I only wish we had stayed longer than 5 days as it was such a fun trip!!

Easy access to bike trail and Harney Peak.
Loved the deck with a view of the trail and woods. We had a thunder storm that resulted in a double rainbow.

Be aware, not sure if George was having a bad day or what!!! Upon arrival we were greeted by a nice young lady… then the owner walked in and snapped at me to sign a piece of paper that I had all ready signed. No hello how are you nothing just ripped the piece paper away from me after I had said I had signed it, he then proceeded to talked sternly to his daughter about getting payment prior to giving the customer their receipt. Not off to a good start in my opinion, to me first appreciations are a lot. When we walked into the cabin there was a basket caulked to the ceiling and a ton of rules, I get rules but you also need to make people feel like they are at home when away from home. We ended up leaving and not staying but when we went to tell him we weren’t staying he was less than happy, the room was non-refundable so not sure what his problem was. We were only there for 10 minutes and he still had to do a walk through of the cabin in order for me to get my $150 deposit back! I would definitely NOT recommend this place to others!

The room was very clean, the bed was so comfortable and the viewa were absolutely amazing.
Plexiglass plate under the microwave protruded a little and was easy to hit my head on.

This is an older resort just south of Hill City in the Black Hills. It is centrally located near Custer State Park, Jewel Cave, Deadwood, and close to Mt. Rushmore. The cabins are old and small but well maintained. BUT, this is a Great little resort for less than a hotel room and half the cost of other resorts! It backs up to the middle of the 106 mile long gravel bike trail that crosses the Black Hills! Super beautiful ride! The resort has bikes, a pool, outside tables and b-b-ques, play area for kids, hot tub, beautiful view of pine covered hills-we loved being there!
Nicer cabins, but that would double the price like other resorts in the area.

Great location to get to the major attractions in the area. The place was older but in good repair, clean and comfortable.
