Situated in Oistins, this lovely condo for $532 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. One of only 58 residences in the Sapphire Beach complex, Amikka is a duplex apartment of 1630 sq ft, situated right on Dover Beach on Barbados’ South West coast. Downstairs the apartment comprises a double bedroom with king sized bed, en-suite shower room, washer drier and plentiful storage space. Sliding doors open onto your own patio and onto one of Sapphire Beach’s two private fresh water swimming pools with gated access directly onto Dover Beach. Upstairs there is a further double bedroom with king sized bed (rear facing) and en-suite bathroom, plentiful storage, fully fitted and well equipped kitchen, spacious living area leading onto a large covered balcony. Balcony has a six seat table for al fresco dining, whilst the double arch windows give you the opportunity to dine in privacy. The balcony is south facing and from here you will see fantastic sunsets over the Caribbean Sea. The apartment comes with TV, iPod dock, air-con in both bedrooms & lounge. Sapphire Beach has a private gym. The local beach: our family has been lucky enough to be holidaying in Barbados for a good number of years. So we knew that one of the critical factors for us when we decided to purchase a property on island was the quality of the beach and the safety of the water. We know from experience that there are many beautiful properties on island but the beaches and sea around them can be difficult for young or inexperienced or unsteady swimmers and we wanted to ensure that our whole family, every generation, could enjoy their time together all day. Dover Beach is beautiful but also gently shelving and with much calmer water than even the immediately adjacent beach which we have struggled to swim from. It is the choice of local families at weekends for good reason! The island: At just 21 miles long and 14 miles wide, Barbados rivals destinations several times its size. Surrounded by over 70 miles of white sand beaches distinguished as some of the finest in the Caribbean, the island has long attracted visitors to its shores. With a beautiful landscape dotted by pristine golf courses, polo fields and elegant estates, world-class restaurants, vibrant night life and an exciting social calendar of cultural, music and sporting events, Barbados is truly an island paradise. The climate: Just outside the main hurricane belt, the island enjoys year-round sunshine, cooling north-east trade winds and just enough rainfall to maintain its lush tropical gardens, gullies and rolling green fields of sugar cane. Yet again another excellent stay at Mike and Andrea’s lovely apartment. Great property with direct access to a pool and the beach. The lively evening attractions of St Lawrence Gap are a 10-15 minute stroll away.
Check in check out was very easy. Great communication as always from Mike and Andrea.
Dover beach is one of the best on the island IMHO.

Beach and pool right at your doorstep…best of both worlds. Our condo was clean and comfortable. Several restaurants and bars within a short walk. Owners were prompt to reply and very pleasant.

This property is perfect. The pool is right outside the door. The beach is just outside the pool area. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent on the beach. The sand on the beach is soft and does not get hot under your feet. The view of the pool and ocean from the balcony is fabulous. The condo was very clean and it has a great layout of 1 bedroom and bath downstairs and 1 bedroom and bath upstairs by the living room and kitchen. There were many great restaurants in walking distance. My parents and my husband and I loved our stay here and enjoyed the island.

Great experience staying at Sapphire beach for my second time! The pool and the ocean being right in front of you is perfect for beach lovers and pool side dwellers alike! Lots of amenities close by. Only negative would be is the roasters crowing at 4:00 am but it does become kind of comical. Hope to visit sometime again soon!

I believe we had one of the best condo units in the building. Beach was great. Saw 2 Sea turtles swimming. Lots of good variety of restaurants within walking distance. Will definitely recommend this condo building to anyone looking about vacationing in Barbados. I hope to be back.

This condo is in an excellent location. There are multiple restaurants and bars within walking distance. From the bottom floor bedroom, you walk directly out to the pool. From the top floor, you have a beautiful view of the ocean directly in front of you from the balcony. The condo is extremely clean and has everything you could possibly need in kitchen utensils and appliances. There are several taxis close by willing to take you anywhere on the island. We did the Mount Gay Rum tour, and a tour of the island. It is a beautiful country and very safe. The property manager checked in with us twice during the week to make sure everything was going smoothly. I would highly recommend this condo for two couples, or a family of four.

We just stayed a month at Amika and had a most enjoyable stay. The property is amazing and a great home away from home, located next to the pool and right on Dover Beach. For those travelling to Barbados, this is where to stay!

We’re just enjoying our last morning on the balcony before we leave and it’s been joyous!
The apartment is stunning. Two lovely big, comfy bedrooms with en-suite, a much used laundry room and a great living space. The kitchen is very well equipped and we’ve spent many lazy lunches on the balcony and fun evenings playing the games provided after we’ve been out for dinner.
I can’t say enough positive things about this place….. we will be back!

We spent 4 wonderful nights at Sapphire and enjoyed every moment of the experience. The condo is gorgeous, spacious, clean, and all amenities have been thoughtfully included. The beach is steps away and the pools are warm and inviting. Restaurants and shops are all within walking distance and you have safe, free parking if you rent a car. Overall, this was a perfect getaway and we will be returning.

We have visited Barbados numerous times throughout the years, mostly staying in All inclusive hotels.
I think our all inclusive days are over, we had such a wonderful time staying at Ammika!
The cleanliness, the view, the beach.. ( best beach in BGI!!) the list is endless.
Mike & Andrea were fantastic from the first time I contacted them. Keisha was also fabulous always there if & when we needed her.
I’m not one to normally write a review but I have to say you will not be disappointed we had memorable stay and hope to return very soon.

Couples break
Excellent property perfect for two couples, plenty of space and really good outdoor areas. Pool area is very nice and direct access to a lovely beach. Location is ideal with variety of bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance.
Mike & Andrea were helpful and considerate from the moment of booking as was Keisha (property manager).
Would stay here again and definitely recommend to others.

A little slice of paradise on Dover Beach
Sapphire Beach apartments offers the best location, facilities and proximity to everything you could want to enjoy your stay in Barbados. Angela and Mike are the perfect hosts - super responsive, friendly and understanding and their apartment is perfectly placed in the block. We been to Barbados on several family holidays and keep returning to this slice of paradise. Can’t recommend it more highly. You won’t be disappointed!

Location is the best ever, easy walking to restaurants & bars, right on the ocean, two
pools outside your patio door. Condo itself is very comfortable and clean, with a patio living space that is breath taking. The staff and other visitors/owners are the friendliest people you could ever meet. We’ll be back!

This two-level condo unit is one of a few two bedroom units in what is considered to be the best building in this part of Barbados. The unit and the overall building are well maintained with on site security and management to answer questions. The lower level includes a king bedroom, bath and laundry room opening onto the pool, while the upper level features a king bedroom, bath, kitchen, living area and balcony overlooking the pool and beach. The condo is a very short walk into St. Lawrence Gap, where there are numerous restaurants and bars.
The unit is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The owners communicate very well and thoughtfully provide a welcome supply of fruit, beer, milk, tea and coffee. There are two small convenience stores within five minutes and two supermarkets about 20 minutes away by foot. Taxis are readily available throughout the area.
The beach is one of the best on the island — soft sand, no broken shells or coral and gentle surf. The beach is public (as are all beaches in Barbados) and you can arrange to to rent lounge chairs and umbrellas.
This was my first experience using VRBO and I could not have been more pleased.

Best location we have stayed in Barbados! The condo was pristine and quiet. We stayed with our two adult children and their spouses and had plenty of room and privacy. We spent lots of time between the pool and the beach, and a perfect location to walk in the Gap at our leisure. Great restaurants and nightlife just nearby yet the condo and property were so tranquil. This condo is perfect in every way, the staff so helpful and friendly. Restaurants were plentiful and surprisingly modestly priced. We highly recommend Ammikka!!

When we arrived we were greeted and shown the unit without delay. A welcome package was provided.
Overall our stay was excellent. The condos are getting a bit dated and can use a good scrubbing. Our only complaint was our feet getting black walking around the unit in our bare feet. All tile floors tend to get dirty I imagine. The gym equipment needs upgrading. The pool was directly outside our unit so a quick dip would be good for those who like a pool. We used it twice during our stay.
What we like most is the beach is at our door steps. The Gap has many good restaurants and street vendors for meals. Played a lot of golf.
We have stayed at the Sapphire on 5 other occasions and this 2 bedroom unit fit our needs both price and size.
Our property manager Kiesha was there at a momemts notice and took care of amy issue immediatley. Only had 2 and the were handled.

We Loved It
We would like to thank you for the lovely beach front condo. It was everything the pictures showed. We enjoyed being in the heart of The Gap and the beach and ocean were the best we have seen. The condo was just as pictured and more. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the items you would want. The condo is just steps from one of the pools, the grounds were beautiful as well. The condo is a gated complex so we always felt safe during our stay. Andrea and Mike were a pleasure do deal with and provided answers to all of our questions. We hope to return again and would definitely recommend this unit and will stay here again.

A Little Bit of Paradise in Paradise.
Fantastic condo; - stylish, modern, extremely well furnished, clean and very comfortable. Direct access to the two pools and a gate right on to one of the best beaches in Barbados. We certainly tried out many of the suggested restaurants in "the Gap" from fine dining to Rude Boyz Jamaican jerk kitchen which we really enjoyed. This is our second visit to your condo "Amikka" and it will definitely not be our last. Many thanks Mike and Andrea for making our vacation extremely memorable - we will be back; - guaranteed !!

Fantastic apartment
Our recent stay here was absolutely fantastic. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The apartment is spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The bedrooms are large and have a lot of useful storage space. The kitchen is well equipped and very welcoming with the groceries provided.
The location is perfect with just a short walk to a number of really nice restaurants and bars. Even better, it takes a whole 15 seconds to reach the beach from the apartment! The beach is beautiful and there are a few choices for drinks/food within a minutes walk.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartment, it felt like home for the week and added to our wonderful holiday.

Fabulous apartment !
I have just returned from a weeks holiday at this apartment - wow, what a place!
Our check in was smooth and really simple, and the arrival grocery pack was a really nice touch!
The apartment is spacious, beautifully furnished and in a location that is second to none. The beach is just a few steps from the door, and the restaurants and bars of St Lawrence Gap are just a short stroll away.
We loved the detail that has been put into the fixtures and fittings, with absolutely everything you could need available in the apartment. The beds are HUGE and so comfortable, the kitchen is really well equipped too. We made good use of the ice maker for our rum punch - perfect for sipping while watching the sunset off the balcony!
The local area is great - we had lunch on the beach most days at Johnny Cools, and spent most evenings trying out various cocktail bars and restaurants in the Gap itself. We did not hire a car as we didn't need to, the bus service runs from the end of the gap and there are always taxis available too outside so we were able to get around easily.
I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment - it's super!

Sapphire Beach is a GEM. Holiday of a lifetime!
Arriving into Dover Beach, Barbados, we couldn't have been happier with our first impressions! We were greeted at our stunning apartment, given a tour of the complex and blown away by the surroundings, view and spectacular setup. The pool and beach couldn't have been any closer!
The property is incredibly well maintained with everything you could need for your stay. We particularly loved enjoying the balcony in the evening watching the sun go down, whilst playing the board games provided.
The rooms are incredibly spacious, light and airy, and the beds are dreamy - so comfortable and BIG!
The apartment is located in a lovely, unspoilt area of the island with plenty of delicious restaurants to choose from - I'd recommend Dover Beach and the Sapphire Beach apartments in a heartbeat to friends and family alike.
A stunning property, in an even more stunning setting. I would love to return one day!

Exceptional .....
This is a very very high quality apartment. The location is fabulous. The view from the balcony is amazing. The patio doors in the main bedroom open out onto a large pool. The wonderful beach and the warm waters of the Caribbean are just steps away. What's not to like?
The apartment is beautiful finished to a high standard. The furnishings are high quality. Everything has been thought of. Plenty of towels. Good quality bed linen. Very comfortable beds. The maid comes in twice a week to clean, change the towels and bed linen.
St Lawrence Gap is a pleasant 10 minute stroll away with excellent restaurants and great places for a drink. We highly recommend Primo and Harlequin. Sharkey's gives everyone a warm welcome and is an excellent place for a beer or a cocktail. They make a good breakfast as well.
Staying at this apartment has all of the advantages of being in a great hotel, but with privacy. The owners are very helpful and everything was easy. You'll be greeted on arrival by the agent. No fuss, no stress.
It was our second visit. It won't be our last!

Mike & Andrea looked after our every need from our first initial enquiry right through to answering our final questions in the days before we flew. The guide to Amikka has been thoughtfully put together and contains everything you might ever need to know. The property itself is even better than the pictures, it's clean, modern, well-equipped and the location couldn't be better! We've never stayed somewhere so close to such an idyllic beach and with the pool just outside the door, it was the perfect place to cool off after a day in the Caribbean sun.
We particularly enjoyed hiring a jeep for a few days and touring the island where we met the friendly locals and experienced the Bajan culture. St Lawrence Gap is a short ten minute walk away and is filled with delicious restaurants of different cuisines; we also absolutely loved a Friday night at Oistens, where we listened to live music and ate fantastic, fresh, grilled fish. A catamaran cruise around the island topped everything off, swimming with the turtles was an unforgettable experience and is a must do when in Barbados.
We felt really looked after throughout our whole stay, Keisha was always just a phone call away and Primrose ensured the place was spotless! We couldn't recommend this place more... perfect weather, accommodation and culture, thank you Mike & Andrea for a superb holiday, we hope to be back very soon!

Excellent!
The property was just lovely. Having a pool outside our door, along with the gorgeous beach only steps further made for the perfect experience for our week. The grocery store was a bit further than we had read, but using the public transportation added to our experience. Surfing was our main interest in the week and although the week started out rather flat, by the end of the week, we were busy enjoying every wave that came our way! The balcony was the perfect spot for morning coffee,mid-day reading, and evening cocktails. The view was gorgeous. Thank you sharing your condo!

Great place to stay... if you didn't have kids...
I would like to personally thank Andrea and Mike for the welcoming us into their (vacation) home. It was absolutely perfect for our family of 5. The house was nicely furnished, comfortable and clean. The property was well maintained. However, the pictures of the property were probably from the early beginnings but not in a bad way. There is more lush greenery than pictured. Again, everything was perfect.
There was one problem that we didn't expect. People who were staying at this property were of course on vacation. And when vacationing, around the months of March and April (which is called Spring Break), there should be a considerable amount of more children. There was a neighbor who couldn't understand why there were so many children. Now when kids play together, sure it can get loud. So of course, parents have to tell their kids to quiet down a little and be considerate of the neighbors. There were a couple of days where this neighbor approached me about other people's children being loud. I asked if she was also referring to my kids. No, not your kids but the other kids, she replied. The next day, she called the security to complain about the noise from the children. In turn, we received a call from not only the security but also the property manager, saying MY kids were loud. Funny thing was my kids weren't there at the pool THAT day. Did they call other families who were staying at the property to complain about their kids? Another day, I took my kids out to surf and when we got back around 4:45, 5 P.M., we were stared at by the neighbor through the door by the pool. Why? My kids are not loud. So why pick on us? What started out as a wonderful vacation turned sour because of them, but we ignored their decrepit sensibilities and enjoyed the villa, beach, surf and Barbados! Sorry Andrea and Mike, but the neighbors took away a star. You can ask Michelle if my kids were rambunctious.
