The property does have excellent areas and the location is excellent. You can not go wrong with this choise.

We came here for a family vacation. The flat was amazing, clean and in a great location with wonderful views. There was nearby access to the ocean, supermarkets, coffee shops and restaurants. Also, easy access to coastal walking and downtown. We would definitely stay here again the next time in Madeira. Also, Nelson was very helpful, and even helped us with a car battery issue.

Joe and Nelson were wonderful to deal with and our family thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The apartment is well located with fantastic views. Everything was clean and the checkin/checkout process was effortless. We will stay here again for future visits. Thank you Joe and Nelson!

The apartment was spacious and located in the same building complex with shops and restaurants. It was also right at the bus stops connecting directly to the center of Funchal as a well as to the airport. There was also a designated parking spot in the underground parking for the rented car. We all had wonderul time.

Apartment was in great location, Mall, supermarket,restuarants, views, sunset views, natural pools. Had to let owner know to raise the hotel waster Temp. because it was just luke warm. Big issue was the stench of urin in master bedroom and one other bedroom. The prior guests must have pee in bed. If that is fixed we would stay again for sure. Use the hello bus and not the Red bus if you going to do Funchel tour. More busses and come right to Apartment

We recently stayed at Joe and Nelson's apartment in Sao Martinhao. I echo what other reviewers say: huge apartment, beautiful western facing view, large balcony, well-appointed kitchen, comfy beds, #4 bus to Funchal and aeroport shuttle at the front door, and a 5-7 minute walk to the Forum shopping centre and Pingo Doce. We did not have a rental car but if we did, they have underground parking. The Wifi was strong and they even have a TV package that has channels in various languages. This was especially appreciated in the evening after spending all day exploring Madeira. While the decor is basic and a bit old fashioned, the apartment itself is high quality. One side (master bedroom & living area) faces the ocean, the other side faces the street. Noise was minimal at night although in one of the rooms, you could hear the upstairs neighbour talking on the phone. Shoutout to Joe and Nelson who helped us communicate with the airline when our luggage did not arrive. Once it was located, they were super helpful in ensuring it got to the right place and even followed up to see if we were ok. Thank you! For the size and location of this property, I think it offers great value and a wonderful base from which to explore this beautiful island!

Very nice place to stay with family , my kids love it every single second

We spent just over six weeks at this apartment and enjoyed our stay. The view from the huge, main balcony is stunning both day and night and was ideal for BBQ’s. The balcony at the front is sunny and has a lovely side view of the sea. The apartment itself is huge and the beds are comfortable. The main kitchen appliances were up to date and efficient. The location is superb with lots of excellent restaurants very close by. The supermarket in the complex was well stocked and reasonably priced and at the Forum the Pingo Doce supermarket is enormous and has everything you might need. Unfortunately the tunnel to the Formosa beach was closed but we enjoyed the walk in the other direction to the Lido. Despite the restrictions of COVID we really enjoyed our stay and felt very safe. Mask wearing was enforced in all indoor areas and buses and the majority of people wore them outside too.

Spent seven fabulous days at this outstanding apartment. We greeted by very helpful and attentive host. In the apartment everything was spotless and fully equipped with lovely fresh towels. Rock pools within walking distance was great and supermarket forum just up the road meant the location with easy accessibility to amenities and activities was possible. Thank you for a great stay. The apartment is roomy and a perfect place for me, my brother and sister, each with our own bedroom (I got the ensuite!).The kitchen is well equipped and balconies on either side provided shade and sun (weather permitting) as required.Excellent transport links into Funchal via the bus stop right outside, and the shopping area in the centre has a supermarket ideal for most items when we don't want to make the 10 minute hike up to the Forum where there is a large supermarket. Varied restaurants within a 2 minute walk are ideal to suit any palate.All in all a perfect location for a Xmas / New Year break. Wish we could stay longer!

The owner was so helpful settling us in. we had a wonderful month stay. There is a brilliant pizza restaurant, (very good value for money fresh ingredients, a newsagents, a good supermarket, and a few other shops. The cafe has excellent cakes and lovely coffee.

We were a group of 4 friends who stayed for a month. Had everything we needed and it quickly felt like home. Joe and his brother Nelson were terrific hosts. Convenient location; bus stop to downtown Funchal, Formosa Beach, restaurants, Forum Madeira mall (groceries/shopping), natural ocean swimming pools and Lido Promenade(seaside walk with cafes, shops and tour info)all nearby. We never tired of the wonderful balcony views of the ocean, Cabo Girao and the hills overlooking Funchal. Highly recommend this apartment and would love to return.

The apartment was fantastic, absolutely huge, very clean very spacious had everything you could need, so much bigger than I thought it would be. Even the balconies were spacious with table and chairs and sunloungers. We went as a family for my sons 30th birthday and had a great time, lovely restaraunts below the apartments with great food and a bus stop right outside to take you in to Funchal in 20minutes, 1euro 90 one way so for 5 of us it was 10eoros and a taxi for 5 was the same price. The only downside was the nearest supermarket was in a shopping centre about 15min walk away but up a steep hill, they advertised one in the apartment complex but it was closed as were most of the shops there but we ate out most of the time so wasn't too bad but would definitely recommend.

Just along the coast from Funchal - 10 mins by regular public bus. Apartment close to shops and restaurants. Stone beach and lido 5 mins walk. Overall excellent

We LOVE Madeira, a beautiful island with very friendly people. And we were so happy to be back in this great apartment. It is in a perfect location, on the water, close to everything you need plus the local bus stops at your door. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby and we tried most of them. Yummy pizza in the complex below but our favorite was Real Canoa for amazing Portuguese food and service. Many mornings we visited the teahouse a five minute walk on the promenade for coffee and pastries. The apartment is very spacious with comfortable beds and lots of linens. We so appreciated the barbeque, the extra table in the kitchen, the large dining room table and the speedy internet and WiFi. We spent quality time on both balconies especially the large one at the front and left our bedroom door open at night to hear the waves splashing on the shore. When a problem came up, the owner responded quickly and efficiently and seemed so happy to help. Thanks Joe and Nelson for everything you did for us and we are definitively planning to return next year.

Beautiful and spacious apartment that is in a great location. Large 3 bedroom/2 bathrooms. We were a party of 5 and it was perfect for all of us. Close to the sea and shopping and walking ! Would highly recommend!

Wonderful first trip to the beautiful island of Madeira and we were delighted with this apartment. Loved having two balconies and we enjoyed leaving the bedroom door open all night. We just couldn't get enough of the VIEW all day, all night. Great having the BBQ, first time during our 6 winter breaks in Europe. As others have said, you can't beat the location. We went for long walks in both directions and used the bus quite frequently as it stops in front of the apartment. Lots of good places to eat nearby and never too far to go for groceries and supplies. Should mention there is no supermarket in the complex downstairs but we were able to get most of the things we needed in the little individual shops within the complex. Hope to come back to Madeira next year but only if we can stay here so what does that tell you.

Once again, my family and I had a fantastic stay at Joe Pinto's residence. The location is perfect, buses and cabs neatby, grocery store nearby, restaurants nearby, and The Forum shopping center is right up the street. Nelson met us at the apartment, when we arrived, and the vacation began. This apartment is perfect for a stay in Madeira. Well maintained apartment, ideal location, and a fantastic owner who answers your questions right away. This was our second time staying here, but definitely not our last. Thank you Joe and Nelson!

A super spacious apartment in a great location. My family has spent two glorious summers in Madeira and found this apartment to be the perfect base.

We stayed for a month in this very spacious, well located apartment. Ideal for access to the promenade for walks. Close to supermarkets and shops. Superb view from balcony and with a balcony each side of the apartment you are able to enjoy sun morning, afternoon and evening. Highly recommended apartment on a beautiful island.

Property in a lovely quiet location away from the bustle of Funchal centre. Views from the apartment particularly at sunset spectacular. Lovely walk along the promenade into town 45mins. Bus leaves every 20 mins from in front of the apartment . Journey time to Funchal centre 15 mins. Supermarket and some fine resturants minutes from the apartment. Apartment bright and spacious. Joe and Nelson very helpful with any queries that arose. The fact that we have already booked a further week in December says it all.
