About this house rental
A very comfy spot indeed, our lovely Black Bear Chalet makes indoor and outdoor living enjoyable for the entire family. Outside, a 27' by 12' deck with a Weber grill and 7 ft. picnic table, hot tub. Inside, an open kitchen, 2 stone front fireplaces, pool table, 59-in-1 arcade game and WiFi. An airy yet cozy loft looks out over the great room inside and the treetops outside and is a perfect spot for some alone time. Wood accents throughout give it a truly “mountain cabin” feel, but with creature comforts like wireless Internet. Close proximity to lake, beach, pool, playground, and Trails Lake and Tennis Club. This property is DOG FRIENDLY. PLEASE NOTE: The Development only provides 8 visitor wristbands for lake and community pool area access and DOES NOT offer the option to purchase more. PLEASE NOTE: NO PROM or GRAD Groups, even with adult signature or chaperones. Pet Policy: Renter is permitted up to 2 dogs, any size. Dog (s) must be disclosed up front at the time of inquiry/booking. Dog (s) must be housebroken and must be friendly with other dogs and people. A non-refundable fee of $200 per dog will be due at the time of booking. If we receive complaints of barking/disturbance Pocono Mountain Rentals reserves the right to ask you to remove the dog (s) immediately. Undeclared dogs will be charged $500 and you will be required to vacate the property. Dog (s) MUST be confined to the rental property or on a leash. Dog handlers MUST clean up after their dog (s) on and off the rental property. Guests will be responsible for all damage caused by the pet. Damages caused by the pet will not be included in the damage waiver agreement. Please contact our office immediately after becoming aware of any damage caused by the pet. The pet owner takes full responsibility of all damages and/or injuries to others caused by the pet. By booking this property you are agreeing to the terms and fees associated with bringing an approved dog. We closely monitor all of our properties.

House was very clean and everything was in great working order. This house was perfect for our family of 11. We cooked all of our meals at this house-grill and stove were so clean and worked perfectly. Fireplaces worked great and added so much ambience. Loved the hot tub after snow boarding, loved the arcade game and pool table. Walked to the beach a few times very peaceful. Bathrooms were very clean and so were the sheets, towels and blankets. All pots, pans and dishes were like new.
We had a great trip and really enjoyed this home!

Our family of 11 people from 17 to 77, had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving in the Poconos. There were plenty of amenities to keep all entertained. From the hot tub, to the pool table and someone even threw in an inch of snow. Way to go!

The house itself and location were as-advertised, but the water stopped working on our second day. Management (PMR) responded and a pro-rated refund was issued, but working with VRBO for refunding a portion has been a difficult process to say the least, especially when the fee was nearly $500 just to VRBO. Calls have been bounced around and “dropped on transfer” several times. Not done yet though.

The home was advertised to sleep 16: however, pillows and blankets were not provided for 16 people. There was damage to the ceiling and the carpets were old. We thought the property was lakefront. The checkin/checkout process was easy and our questions were responded to immediately, which we appreciated. The hot tub was a nice addition as was the video game and pool table. The lake was closed off, which was a shame for the kids who had hoped to swim on the beach.

This place was very nice and spacious. The only issue I had was that it was very hot in the bedrooms except for the bedroom upstairs with the AC unit in it. Other then that I recommend you stay here for a nice stay.

We had a great time! However the furniture and the house on the pics looks like brand new, when you get to the house it's actually really old. Some mattresses had rips, when you move the beds there is dirt old wrappers (cleaning company doesn't do a great job). The house is great, location etc. but the house furniture etc is old!

We had booked this place for the weekend of Oct 5th 2018 to Oct 8th 2018 for 3 days. Four families stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days. Very spacious and cozy house. We all really liked it. We were 8 adults and 7 kids. Not only we had lots of space we still had room for couple of more people. I wish there a little more privacy in front of the house as it's too open and close to the main road but overall a fantastic place to spend a weekend with family! Btw, the rental company was really great to work with. Patrice was really really helpful and accomodative. A big thanks for her!

Overall the house was comfortable. However, problem with the lights switching off and on. Suggestion, put lights in kitchen over sink and under cabinets. The furniture needs to be updated. The couches sat very low and hard to get out of.

This house was very clean and had plenty of room and things to keep us entertained. The basement was the best part of the house with a pool table, video arcade and a tv where we were able to set up karaoke that we brought. The only issue I had was that there is hardly anything in the house. We had to bring everything from toilet paper, garbage bags to our own sharp knives and cutting boards. We were totally prepared to do so, however they didn't even have salt or sugar so we ended up having to buy spices which I have never experienced. I have used this site to stay everywhere from NY to Hawaii and this was the least stocked house that I've ever rented. For the cost, I would expect a spice rack. Other than that, I would highly recommend this property for a family with children or for adults who just wanted to relax.

Six of us stayed at Black Bear chalet. The snow covered ground and deer coming right in the yard was beautiful! The cabin actually is better looking in person and even though we planned on a bigger group of people we would have still had more than enough space. We were pretty close to Big Boulder for skiing and a few good restaurants. The kitchen was updated since pics. We took advantage of the hot tub and games. the only complaint is that the lower level got pretty cold but it was also like 10 degrees out during the night we were there.

Great Mini Vacation fo 4 Families
Had a great stay at Black Bear. There was 8" of the snow the day we arrived. When we pulled up the driveway was plowed and the steps and deck were shoveled. 8 adults and 7 kids all had a bed a to sleep in and plenty of room in the house so we were not on top of one another. Kids had first floor with game room and the adults had the second floor to hang out on. House was clean, gas grill fired up with an extra tank on hand. Hot tub was clean and working as well. All in all we had a blast. Would definitely recommend for families with younger kids.

all was good. of course propane tank ran out in the middle of food cooking so we had to finish it on the stove top. i feel biggest problem every year we come there is the grill. Its either a disgusting mess, a burner doesnt work, or it runs out of propane. the jacuzzi worked good which has always been a hit or miss for us too

This house is perfect! I had 14 stay/ sleep here and it still felt spacious and everyone had a bed to sleep on. I was in between this house and another house but I am so glad I chose this one! Hot tub, pool table and PAC man game was a hit! The house had all the essentials you could need, we didn't need to go out and buy anything additional for the kitchen. No soap or toilet paper in any of the bathrooms though! The beds had blankets and pillows without pillow cases FYI! (If you choose the no linen option.) So you only need sheets and pillows cases! Jim Thorpe city is very close and the cutest town, definitely make the trip out there if you can. I had a question about the fire place upstairs and I called/emailed Pocono mountain rental and never got a response to my concern. To dispose of trash you need to drive 2 miles down the road with the trash in your car? Those were my only problems with renting the house, but the house itself was amazing!
