Walking distance to restaurants and safe parking and stay.

We struggled to get hot water for our shower in the evenings. The plates and cutlery was not clean. We had to wash it before we used it. The apartment needs a thorough clean

Friendly greeting on arrival. Great Central location. Welcomed the milk and orange juice provided on arrival. Replied to text straight away when texted the host.

Place could do with some maintenance and attention to detail. Lower mattress in the smaller bedroom had black mould on the side facing the window. This matress easily flattened on that side. Matress needs replacing. Kitchen extractor fan doesn't work neither does its light. Dining chairs need replacing- seat cushions have gone and you sink in. Pot/pan lids had very rusty screws. Had to clean the one we used before we use it as didn't want rusty water in our food.

The flat is spacious and airy. The furnishings are comfortable. The adjacent parking is much appreciated. The block of apartments is in a quiet area. I heard no noise from the street or from the other flats in the building on the second day I had a problem with hot water. The proprietor dealt with it very expeditiously. ( It was my fault btw, I had to get by by pressed the wrong button!! )

Almost nothing to dislike. Some pictures on the walls would have been nice, perhaps a few framed prints of Darlington and surrounds scenes. Also, a wall clock in the kitchen would be handy. The kitchen is well equipped; the only item I could have used but couldn't find was a measuring jug.

I was there with my sister for a few days, looking up family and old school friends (Darlington is our old home town). The apartment was certainly well named - central for all amenities, yet no traffic noise. Matt was there to greet us on arrival. The apartment itself was perfect - two very comfortable bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. Modern bathroom with an excellent shower. We travelled by train because we knew the apartment was so central, but we hired a car to explore the stunning countryside of Upper Teesdale. York and Durham are equally accessible. It was great to come back to our own dedicated car parking space. We'll certainly be back.
