This was a great place to stay. Very clean and quiet and we had a lot of room for the 4 of us. Owners were amazing to work with. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a pleasant experience, however the one draw back was the TV reception there was no NFL, NCAA, or Baseball and no locaL channels the set was maybe 20 inch.

House was clean, beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed. Disappointed that there was not a smart tv and only an electric percolator coffee pot. Winter Harbor is a quaint town with shops and restaurants. Got fresh lobsters down by the harbor at the co-op and steamed them at the house. Delicious. Bar Harbor an hour away. Went to Acadia NP several times. Note that the ferry was closed in October. Bar Harbor whale watching we saw many whales on the trip. We enjoyed our stay.

Very clean and spacious place. Be aware that although both bedrooms are upstairs one of the bathrooms is downstairs. About 30 minutes to Ellsworth (the closest real town) that has grocery stores and other services, and about an hour to Acadia National Park. The house is almost across the street from a pretty good restaurant.

We had a blast in Maine and the house was so close to things we ready enjoy doing. The house had everything you need and more. We really appreciated everything. The lobsters from the co ops were fabulous. Maybe upgrade the TV for those rainy days but other than that, perfect!

We are 2 retired couples traveling together. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here on the Schoodic Peninsula. The home is well stocked and in a convenient location. The host was very responsive. We would stay here again, if we ever come back.

We absolutely loved our stay here . The property is located in Winter Harbor, within walking distance to the grocery, stores and restaurants. The Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia is a short drive or bike ride away. Everything in the house was clean and easy to find. It had all we needed and more. The neighbors around the house were very friendly and offered good ideas for things to do in the area. We really appreciated how generous they were with tourists.

Wonderful place to stay in the Acadia National Park area. John and Anne are great hosts who were alway quick to respond to any inquires. It’s near enough to enjoy and explore the Bar Harbor area while still enjoying the tranquil Winter Harbor area. House has all the amenities for a week stay. Would definitely stay here again.

John & Anne’s cottage was lovely. Winter Harbor is a beautiful area and we enjoyed the quiet. The cottage was clean and the little extras provided were much appreciated. Renting from John & Anne was super easy and they are great hosts.

We drove there to see the park, but much preferred the quiet offered by Winter Harbor. Anne was right next door during the week we stayed and was always a pleasure to talk to. I originally booked the place as a cheaper option to the stays in Bar Harbor but we had so much more fun staying at Schoodic peninsula during the day: no crowds with breathtaking scenery equal to Mount Desert Island and an overall more manageable experience with 3 kids 7 and under. The house was spacious and clean with a big kitchen area. Lots of books/board games/puzzles in the living room. There is no central air but with the bedroom windows open this wasn't a problem for us. John and Anne were staying next door and very friendly and easy to get in touch with a knock on their door. They had great recommendations for the area that we all really enjoyed most of which are mentioned in the binder at the coffee table.

Staying in winter harbor was great to see Acadia and avoid the huge crowds. We. Walked to the ferry to get to Bar Harbor. Really nice visit.

The house was super clean and comfortable. Everything you want to see is about 30 miles away! If ever I make it back to Maine, I will definitely want to rent again. A very peaceful quiet neighborhood. 2 very good restaurants within walking distance! Thank you so much for sharing your rental home with me.

We just returned home from an awesome stay in Winter Harbor. The cottage was everything we had heard about it, a stone's throw from the harbor where we spent time each day, exploring and enjoying all we found there. The cottage was well-stocked, as mentioned many times, very comfortable, both inside and out, super clean and well-maintained. We loved the deck with rocking chairs and lots of flowers, a lovely lawn, and most importantly, a tree swing which got hours of use by my three grandchildren. They were able to bike safely in front of the cottage and we played croquet several times. Nearby was a sandy beach, great for kite-flying and playing in the sand, which we enjoyed with few other people. We also loved climbing the rocks at Schoodick Point and the very interesting Puffin Cruise (both highly recommended). Of course, we spent time at Acadia (the sunset from Cadillac Mtn was beautiful, and the Jr Ranger program great for kids) and Bar Harbor , but were glad to return to Winter Harbor for fewer tourists and traffic! Would definitely return here!

We made a last-minute decision to travel to Maine for an escape from real life, and we are so lucky to have found this wonderful spot. Anne and John were terrific and generous hosts who helped us make sure we understood the covid travel requirements In Maine, and who even dropped off gifts to help celebrate our six-year-old’s birthday! Their home is perfectly set up for kids, with a large yard and croquet set, a bunch of games and blocks, and a swing. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need. You can walk to everywhere in Winter Harbor and walk or bike to the Schoodic peninsula part of Acadia National Park, which we found to be much quieter than Mt Desert Island and just as stunning. Thank you Anne and John! We will be back.

John and Anne were wonderful to work with!! They made traveling during Covid so easy. We had the best experience! Excellent and comfortable accommodations with many thoughtful touches and all the supplies we could need. Would definitely stay here again!!

Thank you John and Anna for letting us rent your cottage. My husband and I LOVED your cottage! It was perfect. The cottage was clean, and the you thought of everything! We love quiet and your cottage was in a very quite area. The whole town is quite and seeing the bay from the property was great! We even saw a couple of deer just beyond the property trees.

We enjoyed everything about our stay in John and Anne’s cottage in Winter Harbor. Great location, clean and comfortable accommodations, and it’s quiet. We couldn’ t have asked for more.

We had a very nice time staying at this lovely house in Winter Harbor. The house was extremely clean and had an excellent layout. It was an awesome location, making it easy to walk to town for local shops, stroll along water, ferry to Bar Harbor, and grocery store. This house worked well for our family with children. It had everything we needed, and the owners were so kind and helpful. We hope to return to this house in the future if possible. Thank you!

My family decided to visit Maine to see where my father grew up. We’d heard stories of Bar Harbor, Boothbay, and Bath but had no idea where we wanted to stay. We stumbled on Winter Harbor through the VRBO. WH is about an hour from Bar Harbor however it is worth every minute of the drive (or the GORGEOUS ferry ride ....literally 1/2 mile from the house.) Ann and John, the owners, were incredible; Very, very sweet and Accommodating. The house was incredibly clean and was stocked with everything you could need. There was a small grocery store within walking distance and a few restaurants too. You have to try Chase’s for amazing breakfast, and Fisherman’s Galley has the BEST crab rolls, worlds best onion rings and blueberry pie!!! Say “hi” to our new friend Matthew if you stop in.There is a lobster shack across the path from the house!!! You’ve gotta try the lobster rolls! There is no shortage of lobster and there is a lobster co-op right in WH. You can’t get any fresher! Acadia National Park is Amazing and the entrance to the park is within walking distance. There are very cute shops in WH and a great little bike shop to rent bikes. We highly recommend the bikes! Finally, if you are looking for a sweet cabin filled with everything you need, then look no further. Winter Harbor is very quiet but close enough to see and do everything that makes Maine fabulous!
