Idyll in Cabo de Gata

Arturo had excellent comms before and during the stay. His place was homely, quirky, and relaxed. Art work was hung throughout the house, and his care for the environment was clear. The location was wonderful. And all the tips about what to do locally, both to visit and eat and drink was really helpful. Thank you for your hospitality.

Very bad experience

The common spaces are to less when there are more guests. Especially the kitchen. It's very full with only space for 2 people to eat there. The host uses the kitchen too and all the time left his dishes in the sink, so not very nice and easy to do your cooking and dishes. The description about the apartment is not correct, there were a lot of things different. For example, the shower is outside the room, there is no view, there is no sitting room with fire-place and there is no garden. The house is always open, with the key (at the outside) in the door. It's his way of living the host said, but there's also no lock for the rooms, so you have to carry your belongings all the time with you. We try to discuss this with the host but he hardly listened and only keep explaining his way of living. He won't change his rules for any guests he said. (When we came back that day, we found a very tiny lock with two screws fixed in our door) At least the most hard thing was that the host makes a lot of noise early in the morning. (4.30/5.30h) One day we went out the room (at 5.30), after already one our with a lot of noise, on and of loud and less loud) Also 2 other guests came out and together we discovered that the noise came out of the speaker in the kitchen, very loud. It was like child-crying and very scary. We think maybe the host was watching a movie and forgot to switch of his speaker in the kitchen. The next day we decided to leave earlier and booked another room.
