The Blue Barn is a little haven in a lovely garden setting. It was a peaceful getaway!

The Blue Barn is thoughtfully set up. It is spacious inside, with a cosy feel. The furnishings are eclectic but work together nicely to provide some personality. The garden area is lovely with a sitting area to enjoy the sunshine!

Poor

Comfortable bed.

Very cold,very draughty.Suitable maybe for I night but nowhere to put clothes other than a few hangers on wall. Minimal basics given price per night. Noisy neighbours playing loud music during only afternoon we could have sat outside was frustrating as we had to clean the outside furniture before we went out..At this price cable/ satellite tv would be an expectation. Definitely would not recommend. We did not meet the owner who was on site,and when we arrived the power cable to the property had been damaged by a vehicle and was laid across drive.The local agents however responded very quickly and offered a very pleasant alternative which had much better facilities. However once cable fixed we were encouraged to move back to The Blue Barn the following day,despite requesting to stay where we were. Given the disruption we feel it was strange to not have contact with owner who had,we believe,insisted we move back. Altogether a very disappointing property.

Convenient and cozy accommodation

The location is really convenient considering this is our first time to Daylesford. Bed was comfy and adequate amenities provided ( the portable heater in the bathroom was very thoughtful as it was freezing at night). Parking onsite is great and easy to check in and out.

There were dead ants floating in the water container of the coffee machine, seems like it had been there for awhile. Luckily we spotted it before using the machine and washed them out. Couch was a bit too soft and uncomfortable for our liking but it's just a personal preference.

Superb

We had a delightful time exploring Daylesford. It was rainy but it was lovely looking out on the garden. Enjoyed watching one of the DVDs available, and had everything we needed.

The property is great, cosy and comfortable and has everything you need, the online checkin is ?

It was super easy to gain access to the property, I booked the property at booking.com, was provided a confirmation of my booking, I was contacted by the property hosts, which was 'Daylesford Country Retreats' who provided me with a lockbox code to retrieve the key to access the property. I needed to add to the dislike although I had no room. I need to make mention that the online checkin (collection of data ) is mandatory after you have already booked and paid for the property at booking.com, it does state under the terms that a $200 damage cost will be collected, at this point it looks as though booking.com collects this, it makes no mention of a third party[Daylesford Country Retreats] collecting credit card, licence, name, email and phone information, which is a link sent via a email directing you to a unrecognised URL [https://homehero.link/xxxxxxx] to checkin, in a world on email phishing, they were lucky to get my details, all of this information needs to be disclosed to the person making the booking before it is booked. Not after the fact. If I did this to my customers, I am not sure I would have any customers at all, this is not ethical business practise by any standards, and needs to be evaluated by booking.com.

I was a little hesitant to provide my credit card and drivers licence ( and I had to take photos of my credit card and drivers licence, which were added/uploaded to a online checkin form ) information to 'Daylesford Country Retreats', I had booked the property through booking.com, and was billed for the total amount through booking.com, I was then asked to provide my personal information via a online checkin form. The form is hosted at [https://homehero.link/xxxxxxx] and the online checkin was mandatory. the exact copy was:We are looking forward to welcoming you to The Blue Barn. Our Guest Online Check In is the final step before arrival to ensure your check-in is as smooth as possible.This information is mandatory. Please contact us if you need assistance. I am a little confused here my booking obligation and payment was made through booking.com, I was now being asked to provide personal details to a different company in which I had no contractual agreement with? My credit card was then billed an amount for bond pre-authorisation. The credit details are for bond pre-authorisation as some credit cards details are not provided to us.I had stayed in another property the night before ( not The Blue Barn ) and was not asked to fill in an online checkin form where I would need to upload a credit card/drivers licence images.I am not sure this system works, why did I book this property through booking.com then? My contractual property stay /booking is with booking.com, I then received a email from Daylesford Country Retreats to provide very private information to a third party, and this was mandatory? I do feel that if personal information is mandatory to allow you to stay in the property, this should be part of the handover between booking.

It had everything you could think of, it was a quiet and relaxing stay and the hosts were thorough with check in/booking. It was the little things that really made this trip amazing

Just lovely, very comfortable, welcoming, homely and spacious. Delightful touches from being lovingly constructed from some recycled materials (stained glass doors) & personal decorating. But modern heating, tele, bathroom etc. Surrounded by gardens, very private, with your car at front door.

Nothing really, except this accommodation is under "an agent", called Daylesford Country Retreats who put you through the wringer after you've completed your booking with Booking.com. eg you must provide all details by photography of your drivers licence, & credit card and agree to $200 bond and no cancellations or changes or refunds considered, despite any conditions set by Booking.com.

I thought it would have been nice to have some milk even better some breakfast supplies as it wasn’t close to shops

you need to pass the main house entrance to go in and out of the barn. would have been good if it had a private entrance .
