I can't say enough good things about this amazing listing! We booked this location several months in advance and a few days before our arrival, we learned there was going to be freezing temps so were dreading the trip. We were traveling there for my BFF's birthday and decided to brave the freezing temps. The apartment was so CHARMING! We thoroughly enjoyed it! It is listed as a two bedroom but the second bedroom is actually the living room with a sleeper sofa ... this made no difference to us. My adult son traveled with us and slept on the sleeper sofa so each evening after returning from our revelries, we spent quality time in his "bedroom" laughing the night away. It was sooooo cold outside so we ubered most everywhere but had the weather been warmer, we would have chosen to walk most of the time. There is a homeless camp just under the overpass next to the apartment that is kind of sketchy but, then again, you are in New Orleans which abounds with homelessness, unfortunately. We were asking each other on the way home "What was your favorite part?" All three of us voted this VRBO ... adorable apartment! One more thing, to get onto the balcony, you must open the window and step through ... sounds crazy but this was one of our fav features LOL!!!

My VRBO experience, unfortunately, was not a good one. Upon arrival, the apartment was filthy. Garbage cans overflowing, dirty dishes in the sink, bedding on the floor. After travelling all day, we couldn't take a shower, because the bathroom was disgusting. I called VRBO's toll free # and was told the owner had 24 hours to fix the situation. I called the owner and was told that there was miscommunication with the cleaning service and that they would be there the next day. They did have a neighbor bring clean sheets, so we could at least get a decent night sleep and the owner did offer us a 50% refund.

Alligator Alley is as stated in the hosts description. Myself, and three others were very pleased with our accommodations and had a very enjoyable time. The backyard patio was our favorite area of the place. While the patio is small, the ambiance makes you forget where you are at, which makes it easy to decompress from a busy day of sightseeing.

My husband really enjoyed our stay at Alligator Alley. Everything was just perfect and exactly as listed. The host was very responsive and even provided little extras to make the stay feel like home. The neighborhood seemed safe and although they were doing construction on the cross street it did not affect our stay at all. Everything was easily within walking distance which was nice because then we didn’t have to worry about paying to park anywhere. We will definitely stay again if we return to NOLA.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here! The location was walkable to most areas we wanted to visit, and the place was adorably decorated with an awesome balcony. No complaints!

This is the perfect little apartment for a getaway! The photos are accurate and the place is even cuter in person than they show. Steven was very communicative and extremely helpful with check in/check out and everything in between. We literally walked everywhere in every direction and had zero problems feeling unsafe. As with anywhere else, use common sense when walking at night. The streets were well lit and the district is easy enough to navigate. You're a little over a mile to Bourbon Street if you walk straight down Carondelet which is nice because you are close enough to walk to everything you want to experience but far enough away to get some rest from the noise and crowds. There is a black binder in the kitchen on a small cabinet- be sure and check it out! Steven has meticulously listed bars, restaurants and to-do's in it with his personal thoughts on everything (his dad's opinions of those places made us laugh too)! We also added two of our favorite places from this week in the back of it.
Honestly, this was the best stay. From booking, to actually getting there, exploring the neighborhood and the city, using all the facility available to us, to check out, we have ZERO complaints. We would definitely stay here again if another trip to NOLA gets planned.
The National World War II Museum is a must.
Oh, and go to the zoo! It's BEAUTIFUL!

My stay was great. However, it needed to be dusted, filter need to be changed to prevent allergic reaction and a better cook ware set. The energy in the location is very welcoming. Thank you for the great assembly of space.

We booked this unit as a last minute Christmas getaway. My husband and 2 kids stayed here for 4 nights. The apartment is adorable!
I loved the windows in the living area and being able to step right through them on to the balcony. The unit is very spacious and is exactly what is pictured.
You are about a block from the highway so it can be a little noisy but nothing that bothered us. The restaurant, Mais is right across the street. A dainty little Colombian food joint, good food but the service wasn't that great...
It made parking a little difficult during dinner hours but again, nothing too crazy.
Only thing I would recommend are black out curtains in the bedroom... There was a motion light outside in the porch and it kept coming on throughout the night.
The outdoor space is shared but super cute, wish the weather was warmer so we could have enjoyed it.
Over all, I give this property 5 stars! You won't be disappointed if you book.

Alligator Alley was a true pleasure to stay in. Spacious and nicely decorated with a very comfy bed. Kitchen has all the basics needed, even some coffee, creamer and sugar to get the day started. The laundry room out back is well equipped and clean. Great location on a quiet street, a block from the trolley line, or a quick and inexpensive uber/lyft ride into town. Highly recommend; will definitely return on the next trip to NOLA.

Clean and cozy New Orleans style location!
This property is amazing! It is extremely clean and very comfortable and cozy. The "alligator" New Orleans theme is perfect and makes for an excellent vibe. Everything you would need is in the property. Traveled with two teenagers and we felt very safe! Also, the owner is great with communication and he promptly answered all of my questions. We plan to come back and stay in this place again! I highly recommend this to anyone looking to be near everything but not necessarily in the middle of the craziness. Great spot and great property!

Perfect Cajun Hideaway
This place was very cozy and in a great location. We walked to get oysters and cocktails, and was a short uber ride to Bourbon one night. Loved relaxing on the balcony with a cold drink. On site laundry and patio area are huge bonuses. We will definitely stay here again.

The apartment was in a great location for our family trip to New Orleans. It was far enough away from the French Quarter to offer a quiets night sleep and relaxation after busy days but her close enough to walk if desired or easily hop on the streetcar a block over. The apartment was perfect for our school-aged kids to hang out in the living room with wifi and roku tv access and for the adults to hang out on the other side of the apartment in the master or dining area. We didn’t feel right on top of each other like you often do in a hotel. Parking on the street was safe and easy and saved us a lot of money from having to park in the Quarter.

Great time in NOLA!
My husband and I drove to NOLA from Wis. and we were able to park our vehicle right outside our front door and never needed to move it the entire 5 day stay! We were able to walk or take the Street Cars to every part of the city. Coming home each day was a treat as the apt was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay in the Alligator apt again. Second floor balcony was awesome to watch from afar.

Great place
It is a perfect place for two or three people and near the streetcar line. Would highly recommend, but know that I had to email the owner to get him to send the address two days before we arrived.

Great place!
When first arriving we were worried that it wasn’t in the best neighborhood. We were wrong! It’s a block from the street car (only $3 for 24 hours)that takes you directly to bourbon street. It’s also within walking distance from great restaurants and bars. The place was clean and quiet. No problem at all with checking in. Steve was very helpful and answered emails quickly. Definitely recommend this place.
