This 2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom duplex with a deck, full kitchen and sleeping accommodations for 6 if using the fold out queen sleeper sofa. Only a 5 minute walk to Douglas Beach, this home is in the perfect location for small families or a small group of friends looking for a great getaway! Perfectly equipped for a short or long stay, Chapter Two has hardwood floors throughout, an open Living Area, a Kitchen and a great back yard with a deck, gas grill, outdoor seating, and a fire pit! With partially fenced-in back yard, this home is great for dogs! Full Size Washer and Dryer in the unit. This home has 2 bedrooms--one with a Queen bed and the other with 2 Twins/Split King, a pull out sofa and a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo. The living area has seating for 6+ with a flat screen 32'' HDTV, Cable TV, DVD player, access to Netflix and full WiFI throughout the house. Equipped with games and a library of reading materials. The Living Area opens up into the bright Kitchen which has everything you need to cook great meals. Pets are also welcome with a required pet fee. If you are looking for a simple getaway close to the beach and town, Writer's Cove Chapter Two is a great way to go! Staying with a larger group? This little house is perfect. It has a short walk to the beach. I have a 7 and 9 year old and we probably made that walk to the beach 15 times in a week and they never complained once. This short walk is crucial because there is rarely parking available at Douglas Beach.

Western MI surprises with a tropical vibe in the Midwest! Relaxing, quiet neighborhood with easy access to a beautiful small beach w/stellar sunsets! Close to gorgeous Saugatuck Dunes State Park, more beaches & quaint towns on the water. Cottage was exactly as listed & stocked well for a traveling family. Backyard was spacious and cottage was a good size for a family of 4 with teenagers. Great kitchen options - nice hot water (& bathtub!) and the washer & dryer were a great help! Host has is all right!

This house was a great place to spend a long weekend with our dogs. The house is comfortable and well-equipped. We enjoyed its proximity to various beaches and scenic walks. Would come again!

We enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage in a very peaceful neighborhood. Only a short walk to the very small Douglas beach and a quick drive to larger beaches, as well as shopping and dining, in Saugatuck, Holland and South Haven.
We really appreciated being able to bring our dog with us, as well!

Perfectly simple home located within a short distance of Saugatuck, Douglas and Holland. Great location for family walks to see Lake Michigan from Lakeshore Dr and close to Douglas Beach to swim. Lots to do within 20 minutes

Excellent location and communicative owner
We really enjoyed working with Jackie- she was helpful the whole time. The location is perfect- walk to the Douglas beach and drive to store, root beer and outdoor coffee. The bedrooms were as pictured. however, the couch would not make a comfortable sleeping option as listed as an option.
The cottage was not as clean as we had hoped and there were not many cleaning items in the property to clean it ourselves. The bath needs some new faucet handles.

Perfect location - minutes away from Douglas and Saugatuck and a short drive to South Haven. Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful time at "Writer's Cove - Chapter 2"! The property was clean, quiet, and charming with all the comforts of home. We started and ended each day enjoying the private deck and back yard. Douglas Cottage
We rented the property in mid-August 2021. The property is in a great location - less than a 10 minute drive to Oval Beach and Douglas Beach is in walking distance (but we didn't visit that beach, we stuck to Oval Beach). Close to downtown Saugatuck and Douglas. Check in process was easy and the property manager responded to email questions quickly, although we did not contact anyone during our stay. The cottage is attached to another unit, which wasn't clear from the pictures we saw, but not that big of a deal as there was no noise that we could hear from the adjoining cottage. We were surprised when we pulled up because the pictures made it appear to be a stand alone property. The interior was relatively clean, but we noticed several areas that were not (old food under microwave, grime in cabinet under kitchen sink, white stains on the couch). We didn't use some of the bedding because it appeared dirty and one of the comforters was held together with safety pins. Overall, we had a wonderful time in Douglas and loved the location of the cottage.

Douglas Beach, which is walkable from the location, is very small and narrow so be prepared to drive to other beaches. There are no beach towels or beach items at the home so if you are coming with a family in the summer, pack for that. The host was very lovely and responsive.

Nice getaway
Enjoyed our stay at Writer's Cove 2. Clean and quiet locale yet very accessible to downtown area. Loved the firepit out back and the grill. Thank you for a relaxing stay. We will be back!
