Located in Fritz Creek, this attractive standard cabin for $481 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. All of the below remains pretty much on target. Your adventure awaits.. see update at end. This private and cozy guest log cabin awaits you with awesome views of Kachemak Bay and pristine glaciers, abundant wildlife and a ribbon of hiking and cross-country skiing trails through the peaceful Kilcher Family Homestead. It is a great place to get away from it all after a long day of fishing, to curl up with a great book, complete an art project or just relish the quiet serenity (in this case in early mornings and late afternoon/evening). Glacier View Getaway is fully equipped with everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable including a full-size kitchen, kitchenware and linens. There are two comfortable bedrooms, Jacuzzi bath, dishwasher, propane stove, washer and dryer, deck furniture and propane grill. Update: This summer 2024, (hopefully by early to mid June) we will begin construction of our main home on the Kilcher Homestead, 300 feet to the SE behind a small copse of trees. This will involve heavy equipment being operated by family members and discreet filming for reality TV episodes at times for breaking ground, laying a foundation.and building a shell. Work will occur during the week during daytime 9 to 5 hours and is weather dependent. Some of our guests may find it interesting to observe, may be out and about hiking or fishing so no impact, others (who are homebodies) may not want this experience. The view was spectacular! House had all amenities as well as some spices, and helpful travel necessities. Reasonable drive to restaurants and activities. We stayed two nights. A third to relax and enjoy the property would have been wise.

We loved Glacier View! It had more than we needed. So nice to come back from fishing and hiking to such an amazing house. The views were nonstop and we saw moose every evening and one night a bear walked casually through the yard eating. Catkin was great to talk with and helpful! Would love to spend an entire week there! It’s perfect!!

Just a beautiful property. Amazing views! We saw whales in the bay, eagles, and moose right out our door. Immaculate inside. Loved the rustc log cabin feel. Futon couch could be replaced with a regular sofa. Mattress in Master could be replaced. But this would not stop me from staying here again.Loved every minute!

The awesomeness of the location cant be put in to words. The Cabin was warm and very clean and better equipped than any rental we have ever been in. For example, there is both a charcoal and a propane grill. All the cooking tools and dinnerware you wold ever need, even a nut cracker for your crab. Catkin and her husband were very sweet and helpful, even when I called late in the evening. Again, the views are spectacular and seeing moose grazing on the property became 'old hat'. The property is private, so it's your own little slice of paradise.

This is a very special place to stay. Cabin was well provisioned and very comfortable. The views of Katchemak Bay are breathtaking. It is located on a large historic and intact homestead which is also still a family-run farm. We saw moose, a bear, and sandhill cranes on property. Also, there is a mile or so hike down through the property to a very lovely beach without another soul in sight. Catkin is a very welcoming host. She makes sure her guests are comfortable and have the information they want about area. Highly recommend if you want to stay near Homer but don’t want to be in town! It is an authentic Alaskan experience!

We took a few days getaway down to Homer from Anchorage and enjoy being on the East End for the seclusion and views. This was our first time staying on the Kilcher homestead and it’d be really tough to beat how amazing this cabin is, the hospitality from Catkin and Tom is, and how unreal the views are. We are already planning our early summer trip down!

The views never got old! We lucked out with beautiful evenings to have dinner on the deck. Our boys loved the large yard to run around in and we highly recommend making the trek down to the beach. The cabin was well outfitted with everything we needed and very clean! We had a wonderful stay and would love to visit again someday!

This property is everything you see on this site . Charming, clean and everything you need to prepare your meals. The views are breathtaking, glaciers, mountains, moose . Also your host is just a call away should you need anything. We do recommend the Kiltcher museum tour, very interesting. Also take the walk to the beach, challenging but oh when you get there it’s awesome. Highly recommend

We absolutely loved our stay in June! Catkin was an amazing host The view was spectacular, the cabin was beautiful, and the hike to the beach was one of the best hikes we did. We enjoyed the Homestead Museum and tour, and we’re even lucky enough to have Otto drop in to say hi during our tour!

Our family of 5 enjoyed Glacier View cabin immensely. The cabin was as described and better yet. Thoughtfully appointed and clean, we enjoyed our 3-night getaway on the Kilcher Homestead property. We all loved watching the mama moose with her two calves feed in the field in the early morning and late evening. It’s was a perfect opportunity to slow down in the midst of our 2 week family road trip. We hope to return again someday.

We had a wonderful time at the Glacier View rental. The location and view cannot be beat. A moose and two calves even strolled through the front yard as we were unpacking our car. My only complaint is that we didn't have more time to spend there, relaxing and soaking up the views.

Our stay at Glacier View Getaway was one of the highlights of our Alaska trip. Catkin was a wonderful host and the cabin fit our needs well. Not only did we have amazing views of the mountains, glaciers, and bay but also were visited by a moose and her calves. I would love to go back.

The most amazing views! Definitely worth a stay just for that, but the house was well stocked, clean and Catkin was extremely kind to check on us to see if we needed anything. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

First of all, the beauty of Kachemak Bay and the Alaskan glaciers is beyond compare! The cabin is located on the Kilcher Homestead. Catkin, the youngest sister and her husband, Tom, were exceptional hosts. They were kind, very informative and a pleasure to be around. We enjoyed sharing wine and stories one evening which made our stay even more enjoyable. The cabin had a perfect view of the bay and mountains and a peacefulness that was divine. It was fun to see moose, porcupine, coyote, and cows sauntering through the backyard occasionally. We highly recommend this cabin for your next vacation.

Great cabin, wonderful views, excellent communication with host. The upstairs suite is stunning! Be aware that both bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. My elderly folks get up several times each night to use the restroom, and had worries about navigating the stairs. They opted to sleep on the futon downstairs, and said it was quite comfortable! 100% would stay again! Kim & Tom
