Located in San Juan Island, this lovely house for $866 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Heron House on Westcott Bay – Waterfront living near Roche Harbor Welcome to picturesque Westcott Bay, a quiet retreat, 5 minutes walk from Roche Harbor Resort, shopping and all marina facilities. Heron House is a dog friendly vacation rental newly constructed in October of 2017…3 minutes walk to Roche Harbor’s dog park. Fly in, boat in, or drive in, you’re never more than 5 minutes walk to the Heron House. What to do on Westcott Bay? Well, you could walk 50 feet out your back door to the beach, or stroll, on all but the highest tides, to Picnic Island. Use the two fishing kayaks to paddle around the bay, troll a line, or set a crab trap. On the weekend, paddle over to the Westcott Bay Shellfish farm for their famous barbequed oysters. Maybe you’d like to hike the nationally recognized trails … all without having to get in your car! If it’s a stroll you have in mind, walk the 3 mile loop past the sculpture gardens (off leash for dogs), through Roche Harbor Resort itself, stopping briefly at Westcott Bay Cider for a tasting, catch a rare Pokémon at the lighthouse mailbox opposite the old quarry 9 swimming hole, and … you’re back home. If drive you must, head over to Lime Kiln Point for some orca watching, tide pooling, or having a picnic lunch. You could drive 9 miles into the big city of Friday Harbor for all the amenities of a small town. Roche Harbor Resort provides the opportunity to book a whale watching trip, join a kayak tour around the north end of Henry Island, or, if you’re lucky…schedule a wedding The Heron House is named for the great blue herons that daily stalk the shallows or perch on Picnic Island. After almost 40 years of renting vacation homes on Orcas we thought we would mix it up a bit and check out San Juan Island. We feel like we hit the jackpot with the Herron House which has THREE King bedrooms all with en-suites! there is a Fourth bedroom with a Queen as well. You can't beat the location which offers a beach, morning sunrises, walking distance to Roach Harbor and hiking trails. The home is outfitted with all you need for a fun day of clamming or crabbing right in your backyard. Oh, another bonus, it's pet friendly! Our time went by way too fast. This will be a Christmas to remember for sure.

Beautiful setting and newly modeled home direct for small to large groups, children and dogs. Owners popped by to see we had all needed. Rainy every day but it only enhanced the beauty of nature around you there.,, really glad we chose Roche bay. Short drive to Friday Harbor yet far enough to feel remote abd peaceful

The house is perfect. Comfy king size beds with attached bathrooms. Spacious, well equipped open concept kitchen and living space. I really can't say enough about this lovely accommodation.

This place is one of the best equipped vacation rental that any of us has experienced. Wonderful view and wonderful location. My 6 year old grandson was totally entertained with all of the amenities. My 93 year old mother was able to get around on the first floor and totally enjoyed the view off the deck or the view of the fireplace. We would all highly recommend this place and will be looking for a time when we can all get together there again in the future.

The 6 of us had a wonderful time! We all agree we would come back in the future. 3 king size bedrooms with en-suite bathroom. 1 bedroom with a queen bed. The picnic Island and wildlife was exceptional. We loved all there was to do on San Juan Island. Great walks and hikes, Whale watching, British and American Camp, Friday Harbor and Rouche Harbor, great restaurants too. We loved Duck Soup. We also loved cooking in the beautiful kitchen. Amazing, beautiful home!

We had a great time at Heron House. It was such a comfortable place to stay. Dave was easy to communicate with and was so helpful. The beach views were lovely, and the space was so big and easy to relax in. Super comfy bedrooms! Great shower! Internet went out but the views occupied us better than tv would have haha. My family had a great time and we’d love to come back again.

The home is right on the water, has gorgeous views, is a pleasant walk to Roche Harbor and was well furnished.

This house was absolutely perfect for us! Great location, great beds/bathrooms/bedrooms, lots of room and access to toys (kayaks, buckets, fishing pools, clam digging tools, etc.). The kids had a blast, and the adults enjoyed the large beds with ensuite bathrooms in every room. We are definitely going back....

We had a busy but relaxing getaway. Home was well eqipped and great variety of things to do. We enjoyed seeing wild animals from deck as well as whale watching at Lime Kiln Pt. Within walking distance was the Sculpture Garden which was my personal favorite. Overall we had a wonderful experience for our first time visiting San Juan.

What a beautiful house! This home is amazing - it’s huge yet has a very cozy feeling. It has an awesome view of the water, plus a tiny island you can walk to when the tide is out. It’s super close to Roche Harbor, which has restaurants, a market, and several water/boat activities. It’s even just a 15 minute drive to Friday Harbor!
It was just the two of us, plus our pup. We could have brought our families with us and still had room! The kitchen is awesome and fully stocked with everything you need. It’s hard to find a house that accepts pets - this one even had doggie towels for their feet and a drawer full of supplies!
Our host, Sue, was great! She was always quick to respond and eager to assist us. We loved our stay so much, we’re returning in the fall! Don’t hesitate to book this home for your next trip to San Juan Island!

We spent two weeks at this beautiful house. It is as nice as the pictures look and maybe even more comfortable. The beds are great and the location couldn’t be better, even with the cool, rainy weather we had the first week. The convenient dog park and the sculpture garden made it easy to keep our pup happy, as well as the extensive trails all around the area…and the island. Every morning we delighted in seeing how the water changed & which ducks were visiting, as well as other mammals most mornings, including deer out on the island for perfect silhouette pictures in the sunrise.
I think it is a wonderful place for anyone, wether friends or families with children, and we would go back in a heartbeat if we get the chance. Well done Dave & Sue!

The house was beautiful, well-appointed with everything we could need, sparkling clean and very comfortable. The little island was a great treasure for our kids. Great location- couldn’t ask for anything more!!

A Five Star Rating doesn’t do this place justice. When you walk through the front door it smells clean. The house is stunning. Communication with the hosts is amazing. If you’re thinking about a VRBO on San Juan just stay here and quit looking. I know we won’t stay anywhere else again! I can’t imagine spending our 20th Anniversary in a more beautiful setting!

We spent our spring break on San Juan Island - it was absolutely beautiful! We were worried it would rain the whole time, but we had sunshine every day. Unfortunately most rental and excursion places were still closed for the winter, but the owners of this property had so many options already available for us. We all had a great time kayaking in the bay behind the house and hiking around Lime Kiln state park and San Juan Park. We played games, read books, and watched movies. It was a lovely stay. The beds were comfortable and the view was amazing. Thank you!

We spent four days with our family and two dogs and were very impressed with the overall space. Each bedroom has very comfortable beds, three of which are kings. The kitchen is very well stocked with a full range of spices and cookware. We were most impressed the dining room table was set for all eight of us when we arrived! We will definitely return!

We loved our short escape to this beautiful home in Roche Harbor. Mornings on the deck watching the wildlife is enough to want to return. Tons of birds to watch, and a sneaky little fox that was my favorite. Peaceful and quiet, but still close enough to town if you wanted dinner etc. We hope to return!

The house and amenities provided were fantastic. Convenient to various attractions and shops, while secluded enough to enjoy privacy and relaxation. View from the house was very scenic. Owners have thought of everything - from coffee supplies, hand soaps, paper towels, to binoculars, rubber boots, and multiple area maps. Highly recommended!

Everything was absolutely perfect as always as we've stayed here before. Immaculate house new house with a full length deck facing the water to watch seals and otters. Kayaking right from the beach. Dave and Sue are wonderful to communicate with! Let's not forget sweet little Chairlie too! LOL.
