My family (kids age 9 & 5) stayed here for 6 days in August. Stanley was a slice of Heaven. This cabin was the perfect home base for all of the outdoor activities and a cozy spot to retreat to at night. We escaped the Texas heat and went hiking, fishing, kayaking, and even enjoyed a trip to the local fish hatchery. The cabin is just what you need, with a stunning view and outdoor space. We would definitely stay there again! Thank you for sharing your incredible property!

Lower Stanley is a great location
Lower Stanley is a great location
We were specifically looking for a private location directly on the Salmon River, and this property met our needs exactly. The house was very spacious, very clean, and the Stanley area is a great location. Lower Stanley is actually a small cluster of buildings about a mile or so from Stanley (pop 65) itself. While we were there (in early October), it was very quiet. The restaurant next door was closed, and there was little traffic on the adjacent main road that runs through Lower Stanley. We particularly enjoyed sitting out in the gazebo on a few warm-ish days, and fires in the fireplace on the chilly nights. Like others have noted, you can't actually see the mountains from the house (because of the restaurant building next door), and barely from the gazebo, but other than that - very enjoyable.

We’d rent it again
We’d rent it again
This was an excellent property for the most part. It is literally next door to a restaurant (that was closed while we were there even though the website said it was open). So we weren’t disturbed by any noise and it would have been handy had it been open. I’d love to see the owners trim the bushes (assuming it’s allowed) by the river bank as the view of the Salmon River was largely obstructed. The property manager leaves a card where you can report any issues… we did experience some minor glitches that we’ll blame the prior tenants for failing to report. There were several burned out or missing light bulbs in fixtures and another issue that I shared on the card we left as well as with the property owner. So I’m confident those will be dealt with for the next renter. The main room offered plenty of seating and the large island in the kitchen was great. The kitchen was well-stocked with plenty of plates and glasses (the glass coffee mugs are a plus with me). The place was very clean—that can be tough with cabins in mountain hiking areas.
