Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First and foremost the condo itself was quite nice. End unit, therefore you do get some cross breeze and have views looking out two sides. The Building itself is well situated, about a block from the Ala Wai canal, with quick access across the canal. It is only a couple blocks to the Waikiki beach and some darn handy bus routes. The finishes in this particular unit were nice, but the flooring in the kitchen needs repair. (I understand this is scheduled to happen) There were a few small items that needed repair, and Captain Cook property manager Paul was quick to respond. While we were there, the beds were all replaced with upgraded models... this was handled quickly by property staff, and the result is nicer mattresses. The building itself is very secure, and there are plenty of nice amenities on the 5th floor, such as pool, BBQ and workout rooms and even a library. We also had a parking space.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I discovered after a few days at Chateau Waikiki # 1014 that there was a place twice bigger, more luxurious, more modern place for a similar monthly price. My friend rented a condo 3-4 minutes from my place on Kalakaua Ave and it was jaw-dropping. For a similar price. With a swimming pool like in a 5-star hotel...Moral of the story, put that extra effort when searching your dream vacation rental. I should have consulted my friend before. This particular condo # 1014 was at the end of the hallway, just next to the trash dispensing room. I don't know why the smell was so disgusting. So my family and I had to stop breathing for5-10 seconds each time we went out or in of the condo. But living for one month in Oahu with my family was fantastic enough to disregard those minor details but I can assure you that this property is not worth the 5000 plus dollars of monthly rent.And never ever have a look under your bed. The dust is impressive.
