A spacious, clean, uncluttered but very comfortable house in every respect - newly renovated bathrooms, well-equipped kitchen, plenty of living and dining space in addition to the bedrooms, plus two private outside patios. It was an easy place to call home for two weeks of combined remote work and vacation. New Suffolk is a great North Fork destination, separated from the main road by farms, and with its own small quiet beaches, back roads to walk and bike, and bay to kayak. The land across from the house is just woodland, making for a very peaceful location. Bj was great to communicate with, including accommodating schedule changes on my end, and quick help with questions about details of the house and town. Absolutely planning on a return.

This is a very nice house with nice amenities and a great layout. The location is very convenient to lots of wineries, restaurants and beaches in the area. The owner was very easy to deal with, offered great suggestions and was very responsive. The only feedback I will give is that the house is on somewhat of a busy road which has a good amount of traffic during certain parts of the day. This made it tough for my young daughter to nap as she was frequently awoken by big trucks going by. I only say this as I think it would helpful for other parents of small children.

We had a relaxing and very comfortable 4-day stay at the New Suffolk house on the North Fork of Long Island. The cottage appears cozy from the outside -- but has an airy, roomy feeling with high ceilings and skylights inside. Our hosts provided complete details about everything guests need to know regarding wineries (400 vineyards!), walks (to the beach, only 4 blocks away) and restaurants -- and we were greeted with a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates. The house was nicely appointed with all amenities and provided 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. One of the things we enjoyed most was taking the car on the ferry to Shelter Island and cruising the serpentine roads which encircle it. We also hiked the 2,000 acre Mashomack Preserve which offers 1.5-mile to 8-mile hikes and an interesting visitors center. We sampled several excellent vintners and dined at 2 or 3 very good restaurants, including A Mano in Mattituck for dinner and Love Kitchen (also in Mattituck) for breakfast. The area is quietly beautiful with farmers fields, vineyards, woods and inlets. This is a very pleasant change from The Hamsters on the South Fork and we very highly recommend this cottage.

We have been renting on the Northfork for over ten years. This is the first home we are booking a year in advance for 2015 summer vacation. The house is in a centrally located area of the north fork. Close to two 18 hole golf courses..Cherry Creek in Riverhead and Islands End in Greenport..and for the novice a 9-hole golf course literally around the corner. The small sandy beach is a few blocks away with a lifeguard. Vineyards surround New Suffolk. The house layout is great...bedrooms and kitchen at one end and living area down the other side. So if you have an early sleeper, won't hear the tv. The beds are extremely comfortable...tons of linens, blankets etc. The kitchen is fully stocked..cooked home every night from Lobsters to BBQ, which is brand new. The bathrooms were supplied with a fresh bar of soap and even a blow dryer. We went to Sag Harbor one night for a play. Easy to get to...greenport ferry thru Shelter Island to the south ferry to Sag Harbor. Took around 40 minutes. You won't be disappointed with this rental. There is something for everyone!! BJ couldn't have been more accommodating. Ran out of propane..there was a second one..emailed him with any questions, he was extremely responsive.
