Secluded yurt on Blue Ridge Pwy & MTS Trl with hot tub, only 15min from downtown
About this house rental
Located in Swannanoa, this lovely house for $185 per night is a great choice for your next break. Come try something new and adventurous. Stay at our yurt and enjoy the best of both worlds. You can feel a closeness to nature while not skimping on amenities as our yurt is outfitted with everything you need to have wonderful retreat in a secluded woodland mountain setting. Though you will feel like you are in a remote location, you will only be 5 minutes from groceries and restaurants, 10 -15 minutes from Biltmore and eclectic downtown Asheville, and within any hour from most of what Western North Carolina has to offer. If you want to take a hike, the Mountains to Sea Trail is only 150 yards from your doorstep. If you head south, it is a 45 minute hike to the Folk Art Center. If you head north it is only a fifteen minute hike to an awesome overlook. When you get back you can lounge on our spacious deck and take in the mountain scenery before you start grilling dinner. You might then want to make the 15 minute drive to downtown Asheville to hear some good music at one of Asheville’s many venues. Another option would to be to head 20 minutes east to quaint Black Mountain for a walk around. Needless to say this is a romantic spot for a couple to reconnect or bring your kids or another couple as there is plenty of room for them. If you have never been in a yurt, you are in for a comforting experience that living “in the round” creates. So don’t hesitate and come stay with us for a few days or a week and return home feeling relaxed and renewed.

The property was as-described. Clean and well-maintained. Great location for seeing Asheville. Enjoyable first yurt experience!

The yurt was absolutely perfect. The only thing that we didn’t like was that on the photos it looks like there is a mountain view, but there are trees blocking it. Other than that, it was perfect and I would definitely come back!

Overall the location was great. Very quiet area set back from the city and traffic. Close enough to get anywhere you need in Asheville, far enough to get away from it all. We saw a momma bear and two cubs on the road in. The only thing I wish would have been nicer is a clear view from the porch. It was overgrown and didn’t offer much there. I’m sure in the fall it would be better. Overall nice stay. Thank you

First time in a yurt and came away a fan. Simms responded quickly to calls and was respectful and pleasant. Comfortable set-up.

Cons
The hot tub filter had large goo particles coming off of it. The amount of chemicals coming from the hot tub was so strong it burned my eyes and choked me. We get a place usually twice a year with a hot tub. I’ve never experienced this.
The bed leaned to one side. It wasn’t comfortable.
We weren’t unable to stay connected to Wi-Fi. The network only appeared on our phone for about 15 seconds and would not reappear.

It was a nice place. Saw some bears under the deck. Wished it had a queen bed as advertised but only a full. The heater kept it pretty warm overall it was a nice stay. Adding some different size knives and an extra skillet would be a help.

Very nice place to stay. There is not a mountain view, though, it is a forest view since the trees have grown up and block the mountain view. Definitely enjoyed our stay.

I loved pretty much everything about this yurt! I was visiting Asheville for the first time and it was close enough for me to explore downtown and the art district while letting me go on a fun downhill excursion everytime I left the cabin 😅 the dome was amazing. My only dislike is the angle of the shower head but due to the size and position of the doors, it's nothing to be upset about, just had to bob and weave some. The kitchen had pretty much anything you could need and there were extra towels and wash clothes. Extra pillows and blankets if needed as well. The wifi wasn't consistent but again, nothing to be upset about, I needed to unwind anyway. I'll definitely be renting again to see the mountain views once the leaves are out of the way.

Fantastic
We throughly enjoyed our stay in the serenity. Rained a good portion of our trip but was really well accommodating. Hot tub was great. My husband and I was staying for our 20th wedding anniversary.

Perfection
We were wanting a wilderness experience while still having modern conveniences and we got that. Perfect little place to experience the NC mountains while still being close enough to Asheville to get that experience too. Additionally, there was a bear close so we saw it a few times.
Everything was exactly as described. Nothing fancy, but exactly what you need.
Host was quick to assist when we needed something.

We had a blast! The yurt is awesome! Definitely recommend!! If you’re from the flat land (like me) the drive up and down may give you a little anxiety, but it’s definitely doable and worth it.

Perfect getaway for a weekend trip. It snowed and Simms was nice enough to offer transportation up and down the icy mountain into town for a small fee . He went above and beyond to ensure we got up and down safely. We enjoyed getting in the no tub each night and looking at the stars . We would definitely rent with Simms again and had a great first time yurt experience!

Very clean and most definitely serene, yet so close to Asheville attractions. Minutes to Biltmore. Overall very clean, except for a few cobwebs, and the vent hood could use a good cleaning. Had everything we needed. There was a severe thunderstorm our second night which was a little disconcerting (not to mention LOUD), but the yurt held up just fine and we felt safe. The directions were great, and we did make it up the gravel road in our front wheel drive. I suggest you have good tires….ours are a little worn and we did do a little spinning going uphill on turns. There’s only room for one car at a time on the gravel road, but we were fortunate not to meet anyone on our trips up or down. We would not suggest arriving after dark if you can avoid it. Overall a great stay, and a one of a kind experience. The host, Simms, was kind, helpful, and communicated promptly when we had questions. We definitely would stay again.

Best experience ever
Serenity Yurt was such an amazing experience. My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised to see how accommodating and big the yurt felt once we were settled in. We came to Asheville for a short vacation and the best part of the trip was coming home to the yurt every evening to take a dip in the hot tub under the most beautifully clear skies. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you’re looking to have an isolated, special, calm, wonderful vacation, you must book one of these Yurts

The serenity yurt was relaxing and secluded. Cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed the deck, hot tub, and taking the short hike near the property on the Mountains to Sea trail. Would stay again! Just remember to bring your own toilet paper because it doesn’t come with more than whatever is left on the one roll.

We loved our time away from the world. Yurt was exactly as pictured and we were comfortable even during the colder nights. Mamma bear and her cub made several appearances and we got to hike the mountain s to sea trail and enjoy the beautiful fall foliage. Would definitely visit again.

We LOVED the feeling of seclusion we had at the Serenity Yurt but being just a few minutes from anything we needed. Reading the reviews of previous guests, prepared me for the road which was part of the “wilderness” feeling. We enjoyed driving up the bumpy gravel ride like we were really roughing it. The trees, the stove in the yurt (which we didn’t use) and the moonlight coming through the dome was one heck of an awesome experience. We didn’t use the hot tub, but I can only imagine it being perfect.
We had one request of the owner and he responded quickly and appropriately. This was much appreciated.
The decor was perfect amd as far as staying again, we are working on dates to
Rent both the Serenity and Namaste for us and our best friends.

My wife and I honeymooned here. This yurt was close enough to gas, groceries, and even downtown that we never felt stranded, however it’s just into the woods enough that you feel remote and get a mountain experience. The kitchen was well equipped and there was no amenity I missed. Four wheel drive should probably be required, but they do offer a shuttle service. If you do drive up, keep an eye out for gnomes in the woods and watch out for the neighbors dog who does like to chase cars. Overall the experience was very pleasant and I would recommend. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Really enjoyed the yurt as our home base for regional adventures. Great place if you don't plan on staying in the city late at night, about 15 minutes from downtown Ashville but the roads would not be fun for late night driving. Not a location for people who have lowriders as the mountain Rd to the yurt is a bit rough. No problem for my Subaru and saw front wheel drive sedan go up without issue.
