This was the perfect location for our annual fall family color tour! The property was perfect for our family of 4. The location was stunning! To be so close to the water and have coffee on the deck was wonderful. We really enjoyed the cozy fireplace. And the restaurant across the street is an absolute gem! We will be trying to book here again for our future trips to the Leelanau area.

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do/ see and the cabin had everything we needed during our stay. We really enjoyed Market 22 across the street as well! Thank you again!

This little cabin is perfect - great location between all of our favorite Leelanau destinations and with a tiny little "beach" right on Little Traverse Lake. Mel + Neal could not be more accommodating. Their pride of ownership is evident in how clean they keep their cabin, and they go out of their way to make sure their guests are comfortable and taken care of.

We had a great time hiking in Sleeping Bear. The cabin was in a perfect location and has such pretty view right from the couch each morning. Super cozy!

This is our second time staying at the cottage. Cozy time of year to stay as we love to sit outside and enjoy the fall colors. We’ll be back!

Cute and cozy cottage! Very clean and well stocked! Beautiful view with the lake just steps from the front door. Great pizza and cocktails right across the street. We’ll definitely be back!

Mel’s cottage is just as described. It is a cute little cottage on a beautiful lake. The restaurant right across the street is a great place for pizza, a snack, breakfast or a drink. The area is loaded with things to do. Traverse City is just close enough to be accessible and far enough to be away from the crowd.

Awesome cottage right on a nice small lake. Patio, kayaks, fresh cut firewood, grill, basically anything you can imagine is provided. Would definitely rent again.

This was my second stay at the little Cottage. It is just such a perfect location for the abundance of things one can do in Leelanau county. Came here to participate in the Bayshore Marathon ( 30 minutes to the starting line) but wanted to be by the water for the rest of the weekend! My dog and I love it.

We were very happy with the cabin and our overall experience. While quite small, the cabin was very functional and comfortable. The kitchen was super usable and the beds were quite comfortable.
We would definitely stay there again.

This was a great place to stay. Close to all the activities in the area. We loved having the lake right outside our door. The Market 22 across the street had great food for when we didn’t want to cook. We appreciated our dogs being welcomed.

Arrival and check in was as easy as opening the door. Spotless and well stocked with linens, dishes, pots and pans. Full stove and frig.
We enjoyed sitting in the small front room near the gas fireplace every night. It was cold weather for most of our visit so this was especially sweet. We would pour a glass of wine, turn off our lights and enjoy the evening sky. We saw: an eagle, kingfishers, lots of small ducks, a muskrat, a possum, and an otter. Great location between 2 sides of the peninsula-- easy ride to Glen Arbor or Leland. Nice hot showers. Comfy bed.
We walked our small dogs at the Swanson Preserve just east of the cabin. Perfect length and less than 2 minutes drive. We can recommend Broomstick Kitchen in Maple City. About 5 minutes south. They have good food, great beer selection, and.... Curling! Nice people. Very interesting. We enjoyed wine and cider tasting. Must visit is Tandem Cidery. We also very much enjoyed Soul Squeeze. If you are into ciders, TapRoot in down town Traverse is amazing. I have celiacs and it is totally safe... and lovely. The food coop (Oryana) in Traverse is a great stop on the way up for supplies. The one on 31 has a fantastic wine selection, fresh fish, organic natural foods, and produce. You do not have to be a member to shop.
We love to vintage shop and there is a lovely thrift in Lake leelanau - Good Samaritan.
Over all we had a great time! Don't miss a bloodmary or amazing pizza right across the street at Market 22. Enjoy.

3 adults and granddaughter stayed and had a wonderful time.
The cottage is right on the lake.
Our granddaughter who is 3.5 loved the lake. It is very shallow right off of the cabin dock with a sandy bottom. It was just great for her.
Market 22 across the street had great sandwiches.
Overall a great stay.
Thanks Mel!

The cabin is on a beautiful pristine lake that is big enough for small motor boats and small enough to be relatively warm in Michigan June (allowing for swimming). The sunrises and sunsets were absolutely serene to look at while we enjoyed sitting on the deck - or looking out the windows in the cabin. The general location was really great for us as well. 15 minutes to Glen Arbor and sleeping bear dunes, 15 minutes to Leland, and 30 minutes to Traverse City. The cabin was very clean and had really nice amenities. The Wi-Fi was excellent in the unit AC worked well to cool the cabin. The cabin had kayaks and life vest we could use as we pleased. There was firewood a few feet away and we enjoyed having a fire in the firepit. The owners are great and very responsive to any questions you may have. We had an absolutely fabulous week and would highly recommend staying here.

We had a great time, our family of four in this cottage! The patio, dock, and lake were beautiful. We were able to use the kayaks and got to try out the pizza from the restaurant across the street and it was really good! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes and the surrounding area, and this cabin was perfectly situated close to the dunes, Leland, and Traverse City. I especially loved being steps away from the lake, and the property was clean and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this little cabin to anyone looking for a quiet, cute place to stay in the area.

Property was clean. The outside is in need of some attention but the weather did not permit us to sit out anyway. The beds were comfortable and the fireplace heater was wonderful. It would have been helpful to be informed that the dock would not be in the water while we were there and that the store across the street was closed and the restaraunt only served carry out. Overall a very nice stay.

I stayed at this lovely little cottage at the beginning of February when temperatures were below freezing and the lake was completely frozen over. The place couldn't have been more cozy and the adventures outside the front door were aplenty. The cottage had everything I needed and was in excellent condition. I would absolutely stay here again.

Had every provision we needed. Loved the convenient location to lakeshore and surrounding towns. Beautiful view and a cozy spot to take in the fall colors.

We loved every minute staying here! My girlfriend, our dog and myself stayed for 5 nights and could not have asked for a better place. Location was perfect, place was clean, had everything you need. Steps to the water, beautiful views, endless supply of firewood. M22 market across the street is the best! Awesome salads and pizza and amazing bloody Mary’s to go! Honestly I can’t say enough about this place. We cannot wait to get back!
