Property was very nice, location great, communication with Mr. White was excellent.

We had a great time at this house and it was right across the street to beach access! Communication was simple and even when we had an issue with the AC it was taken care of immediately. Would definitely recommend!

The White House was very clean and quaint. Amazing porch for relaxing and rocking. Exactly as advertised. Beach access right across the street was easy. Quiet neighbors. Everything we needed for amenities and extras was in the cottage. Walkable to the pier and close by food choices. Perfect vacation spot!

The White House is a short walk from the beach. We enjoyed the historical landmark to the fullest. There is more to do in the OBX than we could do in our two week stay. Communication with the owner was top-notch. Thanks for the great vacation!

We absolutely loved our stay at the White House. It had everything we needed and so close to the beach access. We especially enjoyed the porch and outdoor shower. With that being said, I read some of the not so positive reviews before arriving. If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, then you should probably look at houses that are significantly more expensive. If you are a go with the flow family/group and just need a comfortable place to stay, this place is perfect!

One of the many reasons we continue to adore this location is the flexibility and attention of its owner, Glenn White. Mr. White is responsive and genuinely concerned about the quality of time experienced by those who select his home. The location is magnificent and the charm of his place unsurpassed by those who appreciate what it has to offer. We look forward to returning.

Can't say enough good things about our stay at the White house. The location was perfect, the cottage is very charming and cozy, weather was beautiful. It was a great week. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Not only within a stones throw to the beach but plenty of shops and restaurants within a very short distance. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

We enjoyed our stay at the Cottage, beds were so comfortable, the access to the beach was very easy, we loved the Cottage, we will go back.

We had a wonderful stay at the the White's cottage. Small but cozy with the decor you'd expect if you grew up vacationing in OBX as a kid. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a rustic nautical bell, which just temps you to ring it. A nice comfy sofa, and several rockers kept us relaxed indoors around the TV. I almost forgot to take advantage of the porch, which is very nice to sit on, sipping coffee, and watching the sun come up. There was a nice supply of coffee and other items (like a lighter for the grill) and the kitchen had plenty of cookware. The outdoor shower was a blessing and helped keep sand inside to a minimum. The A/C worked like a champ and we never even budged the thermostat from 78 degrees. The location of this place is key. The beach access was directly across the street-- 3 minutes tops to be on the beach, which even had a lifeguard. Within sight of Awful Arthurs and the Avalon Pier, and close to many stores and restaurants. We had a great week and loved the place. PROS: Location, parking, cozy place perfect for a small family, great beach nearby, A/C and fans kept us cool CONS: This is tough because I liked the place: Maybe too small for some (wouldn't plan for more than 4); internet was functional but slow (we brought a poratble wifi); outdoor shower looked like it needed a bit of patching up It's a great place with a nice bit of history to it. It's not a palatial estate but you should know that from the pics. Totally enjoyed our stay. 5 out 5 bells.

Location is good. Easy access to Avalon pier, Front Porch Cafe, Awful Arthur’s, and Jolly Rogers by foot. No washer, dryer, or dishwasher. Internet, TVs and cable were minimal and inconsistent. Dark knotted pine interior from the 50’s with no apparent updates since then. Even with blinds up and lights on the interior is very dark. Furniture is also old and used. Front porch was ok. Could hear the ocean but not see it. Few electrical outlets with no easy access. Returned home a day early because of the overall darkness inside this cottage.

If you love a beautiful beach, stay here! Clean, well appointed, cozy. Full of history. Caring owners. 3 comfy beds. Wonderfully appointed kitchen, and a perfect sitting porch. We will be back.

An absolutely perfect location in a charming and historic house. The wrap around porch with a half dozen rocking chairs is something to which we always look forward. The owner is friendly, flexible, and concerned about the quality of our time visiting. This is my second year vacationing at this location and we shall return, next year. Simply, you can’t beat the value of staying at the White House.

My family and i enjoyed our recent stay at the Whitehouse very much. Glenn and his wife are very nice people. Loved the history of the house and property. The location was perfect, right across the street was the beach access and so many places to go within walking distance. The weather was perfect too! Dated, needs attention

This cottage was perfect for me and my two children. The owner was incredibly nice, informative, and accommodating. The location is fantastic and convenient - immediately across from the beach and very close to a large number of restaurants and stores. The history of this house is impressive and the front porch offers fine reflection upon the man who built it. We're coming back.

This was a great stay. The pictures don't do this house justice. The house is extremely well maintained with brand new central air. New flat screen TV which we hooked up a Roku to - wifi for all the kids tablets worked great. Can walk to the Avalon Fishing Pier and Awful Arthurs. Short drive to grocery store, movie theater, etc. The best part is that the path to the beach is right across the street. You could not be any closer without being on the beach! A hidden gem.

The cottage situated across the street from the beach access, walking distance to the fishing pier, bar and gift shop is in a great spot. The undeveloped lot between the next cottages gave you an open feel watching the sun come up from a rocking chair on the deck with a cup of coffee. I really enjoyed the old cabin feel that reminded me of an up North family cottage that is unfortunately long lost. For the fisherman, the outside hose and shower building worked great for rinsing gear and storing tackle out of sight. This cottage had everything we needed inside and out for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We loved our week at this sweet cottage. Although it appears small, there was plenty of room for four adults, a two year old, and a baby. The location was perfect for easy beach access! Overall, a great vacation!
