Delicious breakfast.
Hostess met me outside to help with my luggage. She even walked with me to help me exchange money. We had nice conversation and a few laughs as we walked. It turned into a small walking tour.
House is a small museum with art. Nice atrium area with beautiful trees.
No complaints

Cleanliness meet expectation. Beach was walking distance.
Toilet separated from family room. Inconvenience for ladies particularly.

The hostess was very welcoming and did her best to make our stay comfortable. She paid a lot of attention to the cleanliness of the facility and she was very responsive to our inquiries.
We were unprepared for the intermittent power cuts. They didn't last too long- at most 2.5 hours, but communication was more difficult as we relied on internet access at the facility.

It was a clean spot and a good value for the room and what you got.
I asked if they made dinner meals for hire. He said no. Given that being in Senegal my whole trip it was really hard to find edible/sanitary meals to eat, I was real disappointed that I had to go out in town and try to find some food. Sadly I didn’t find anything, and so I was pretty much starving.
But the real kicker was I left early in the morning at 5am to beat traffic and drive to the Gambian border to cross into that country. I remembered like 2 hrs later that I forgot to pay in cash (as I’m used to paying in advance with credit card). So I texted the owner and said I was sorry and if there was a way to charge my credit card. He started freaking out and threatening me saying if I didn’t come back right away he would go to the police station and file a report. I was like wow dude, I’m obviously not trying to rip you off. If that was the case I wouldn’t have contacted you. I was trying to resolve this as I was almost halfway towards the border. I assured him that I wasn’t going to be flying out back home till like 5 days later from Senegal airport. I also said that I would be back staying in Dakar in 2 days. So I would make sure he gets his money either by him charging my credit card or me coming back in 2 days. Tbh I did tell him the night prior that I would be leaving early in the morning. Maybe he probably should have just asked for the money then. I kept in trying to call him and text him to assure him it was on accident and I’m trying to figure out what are my options. I was t going to turn around right away as I’ve already driven halfway towards the border. After him calming down he said I could find a orange box place and wore the money to him, or find a friend to wire the money to him. So that’s what I did, I found a random person in town and paid them cash to wire him the money via orange box. He got the money instantly.

The hosts were really welcoming and very friendly family. Great support throughout the whole stay. Engaging with the family altogether was very nice. We had Christmas cake with the family and we got to know each other. We had our own privacy and we can move in and out of the house as needed. Although there wasnt a variety to the breakfast, it was filling. The host regularly made available bread, jam, butter, yoghurt and coffee every morning.
Felt safe throughout and the location was good. 20mins walk to the likes of KATIA restaurant and la Graine d'or.
I think I was abit mislead, I had assumed stay was an enclosed section with own room and living room but it was simply an ensuite room in a big ~6 bedroom house.
When we arrived we waited for about 30mins for the room to be ready, without a heads up we were notified that the room we were meant to be in, is still occupied (due to unforseen circumstance).
Other small detail:
- No soap in the bathrooms, we used ours
- the roof paints were chipping off that sometimes chunks fell down
- the wood structure under the bed slipped out few times, that we had to lift the bed and put it back on.
- felt a bit weird requesting for food in the morning from the host
