The house has a lot of history and it's great that it's made available to tourists to enjoy thanks to the efforts of Valentina and her family. We super liked how well it's been conserved and enjoy details such as the tastefully painted ceilings. The bathroom is fully renovated and it feels quite luxurious given the age and location of the house as whole. Breakfast was a good addition, given the remoteness of the house. The owner was always there, courteous and non intrusive.
We spent 2 nights there during a colder beginning of May and we really felt it. It was very cold because the central heating system was off and no AC alternative in the room was available. The windows have no insects net, therefore we had a mosquito as companion both nights, we flagged this to our host but she failed to provide any help. The breakfast was obviously low budget to such extent that the "orange juice" was a terrible, artificially sweetened bright orange alternative. We appreciated the non intrusive character of our host, but a bit of proactive advice about the area and warmer hospitality would have been even more appreciated.

beds uncomfortable and cold floors. no slippers provided even though cold stone floors. didn’t make a lot of sense to us.
rude unwelcoming reception. when we arrived I messaged owner and when I saw her I said oh we couldn’t find where the reception was. response - that’s because we don’t have one. Not a great welcoming start.
got worse - this place is run like a drill camp. not relaxing at all.
bfast finishes at 10.30 and if you are there at 10.31 - forget it. it’s gone. no flexibility whatsoever. bfast range very average my wife said - not even an egg. very difficult when you are in middle of nowhere and can’t go elsewhere easily.
if you want your room cleaned you have to be out of your room by a certain time in the morning. if you aren’t it won’t get cleaned to the following day.
if you want a reading Tuscan family holiday with no pressure - this isn’t the place! avoid it all costs of your a family.
not sure what star rating this place is or claims to be but service wise - it’s 2 star at best.

Locaction was perfect for an exploration of the whole region. Nice restaurant 15mins walk from the location (Romita), Tavarnelle Val di Pesa with lot of nice restaurants / shops is 10mins away (by car). That was really nice experience to spent time there :)

Very nice place in the middle of Tuscany. The vila is welcoming, away from the street noise. The owner is the perfect host. Thank you Valentina!

This Villa is even more beautiful in real life than in the pictures. It is an authentic Villa with all its rooms and secret passages and It is surrounded of wine and olive trees. Oh and their coffee ☕ makes you even want to get up earlier, it is that good.

The Villa is steeped in history, to lie in bed and see the beautifully painted ceilings is quite unique. The breakfast room is also wonderful, with art and furniture reflecting a gracious and important place in the local area. The most significant ingredient in our stay was meeting Valentina whose knowledge and enthusiasm meant we connected with the local community and a most incredible couple of days followed, more than our wildest dreams. A stay at Villa Moris is especially poignant for children of servicemen from NZ Second Division, 18th Armoured and 21st Infantry Regiment, to whom it is known as ‘the Castle’.

The rooms--main entrance, dining, and double room--are beautiful. The house is filled with beautiful and old objects but very clean despite this (which stood out to me because I often find houses with history are a bit dusty). The double room was so clean, as was the bathroom that was stocked with vegan/bio soaps.
The location is perfect as long as you have a car (or scooter/motorcycle), which you should anyway as it would be difficult to go around Tuscany without one. It is in the center of everything so less than an hour from Florence, San Gimignano, and Siena. It is right in Chianti area and there are so many beautiful vineyards and lovely restaurants nearby: Ristorante La Fattoria perfect for florentina and Osteria i Vignaioli for other local dishes.
This stay is exactly what you imagine and expect of the typical Tuscan experience: beautiful, rustic, and quiet.
Perhaps we just got unlucky but I was eaten alive the first night of our two-night stay. I had eight or so mosquito bites from the first night, as well as five or six from right outside the property while waiting to check in. We killed five mosquitos the next morning and then another three or so that night before falling asleep. We both slept terribly the first night but then well the second night.

The villa (inside) is very particular, with frescos and unusual decorations. The owner was kind and helpful. Breakfast was satisfactory (not a hot breakfast). Parking on site. The location of the property was perfect for our needs. There ia a communal kitchen at one's disposal. The bathroom is huge and is wheelchair friendly. Super clean.
The check-out of 10am is quite early (if you don't vacate the room by 10am, you can be charged €30!) We didn't like the metal bed frame, as there's a space between that and the mattress (slightly uncomfortable).

A beautiful Tuscan Villa with an amazing history spanning generations. The ceilings and walls painted in the 19th century remain untouched in all their beauty. The host, Valentina, inherited the property and was kind enough to share it with the public. It was a privilege to have stayed here. Why visit museums when you can sleep in one?The location is very convinient as Siena, Florence, and San Gimignano are all within a 45 minute drive. Highly recommended!

A perfect place to stay in Tuscany. Cozy, great decoration, silent, full of history and kindness.
