My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend with our two kids and their spouses, all in town for a family wedding. The cabin was beautiful and very spacious and very well stocked with all sorts of supplies! We would love to return for a longer visit in the summer and take advantage of the outdoor space! Reservation and check-in was very smooth and we thoroughly enjoyed the place!

House is located on a small cove with easy access to the main lake.
Slope from house to water is a bit steep but manageable.
Decks are lovely with lots of space and great views.
Grill on deck is charcoal so plan accordingly.
House is charming, could have been a little cleaner in the kitchen area. Kitchen is well appointed
The downstairs is a bit musty and could probably benefit from a dehumidifier.
We made good use of the Kayaks and SUP’s and really enjoyed our time on the lake

We enjoyed our stay and had a good time kayaking on the lake.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kinderhook Lake House. Initially, there was a misunderstanding about water access for swimming; we misunderstood and thought there was land to water access, but you have to take a boat/kayak/other out into the lake and swim from there or a small island, and from there the water is clean and refreshing. The owners were very sweet when we raised our concern about water access and helped us work through it. The house and view are awesome, and we had many enjoyable hours there.

This is our second stay in camp kinderhook in 6 years! The house is still beautifully clean and kept up as the first stay. Such a wonderful spot to mellow out with friends and family. I am sure we will back again!

Super charming comfy spot on the lake. Fully outfitted for everything you need. Kayak, paddle board, sun hats, beach towels, bug spray, shade canopy, string lights, and also tons of dishes, cooking implements, dishtowels, etc. It's also super charming and cozy. Every corner of the house has a little vignette that's quaint but not corny: fishing lures, beehive, artist's palatte, oars, books, decor. we'll be back for sure.

What a wonderful weekend we had at Kinderhook Lake. The water was too by low for our boat but we brought our kayak and enjoyed the calm quiet water. You need only to bring yourselves as everything you need is there. Spacious and beautiful surroundings will greet you. Thank you so much for sharing your perfect location with us.

We’ve been to Camp Kinderhook three times and would absolutely go back for a fourth. The place is spacious, well decorated, and perfect for a relaxing long weekend. I think I caught up on three weeks worth of sleep!

This is our second summer in a row staying at John and Regina's wonderful home. Once again, the house and lake did not disappoint! Our girls, now 3 and almost 7, loved getting out on the lake and making stops at One Tree Island for swimming. Thank you again John and Regina - we'll be back next year. :)

This gorgeous lake-side home has so many activities and warm memories to offer. The family and I enjoyed Kayaking on the Lake, making smores by campfire, cooking dinners in the kitchen and eating them on the outside dual-layer porches/docks. Not to mention the abundant wildlife we encountered which made this truly an escape into a hidden paradise. Thank you John and Regina for this stay and hope to come here every Summer.

We had a great time at the Camp Kinderhook Lake House. The house is beautiful and well equipped for all activities or just relaxing. The deck is great for grilling and chilling and the kayaks are fun and easy to get to the water. We hope we can get back.

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was exactly how it was described. We were looking for a house to stay near my hometown of Chatham to accommodate 4 teenagers and 2 adults; we found it and then some, everyone could sleep in their own bed with some to spare.

Spending time at Camp Kinderhook is like visiting a friend's house - a friend with really good taste and style who goes out of their way to make sure that you have a wonderful time. The charm of the house and beautiful location made this a special vacation - one I hope to repeat over and over again.

We stayed here for a long weekend to attend a family event. It was the perfect place to visit with family that we don't see often. The family really enjoyed the paddleboards and kayaks despite the muddy water that is the result of so much rain. We didn't care.
The place was well equipped and very quaint.

Felt like home as soon as we opened the front door. Not our home of course but it was ours for the next 10 days. There is no detail left undone. Everything is decorated and placed just perfectly and everything we needed was provided. We reminisced about our younger days because Many antiques reminded us of our grandparents. Our favorite: the old time kitchen sink, the old time utensils and the horse trough bathroom sink….priceless!! spent our days kayaking, biking, fishing, hiking, reading from the books provided, playing games, spent time with some friends and family, watched some tv and just sat doing absolutely nothing marveling at the details of the house and the ripples of the lake…watching the squirrels fight over the bird feeders while the birds sat and watched , the blue and brown birds flying in and out of their birdhouses….listening to the sounds of the birds and nothing else. It rained 5 out of 10 days but we managed to get out in between raindrops. That’s the beauty of living right on the lake. The house is on a very quiet cove and a quiet side of lake. The lake is perfect size and allows jet skis and motorboats. Kayaks, paddle boards, paddles, life vests, towels and water shoes all provided but we brought some of our own gear. Amazing time and amazing memories. Thank you again for letting us stay in this gem of a home. We love the lake life with an absolute passion and we hope to be back soon.

Had a great couple days away at this super cute cabin. Nice to have access to stand up paddle boards and kayaks. Would recommend taking them out to one tree island on the lake! Very quiet street. Excellent walking/biking path nearby.

We loved the house, view of the water, the decks and the water toys!
No luck fishing, and that is important to my spouse. The lake has a lot of weeds, and we paddled out to the deep water for swimming.
Would be nice with a motor boat to get to deeper water

Our stay here was precisely what we wanted to enjoy my son’s graduation from RPI and commissioning into the Navy. We brought a parent and 2 adult children. Many hours spent talking around the island, enjoying meals on the deck. The views.... the peacefulness... the beautiful home... made for some delightful memories.

We really enjoyed our weekend there. The house was roomy and open, very clean and comfortable and the decor was so interesting. Alot of thought and care was put into the look. Had many kitchen items that sometimes aren’t found in rentals. Wish the weather was warmer so we could have enjoyed the 2 large decks. We did enjoy the fireplace. Plenty of parking. Would definitely recommend.

This place is incredibly nice and cozy. The decorations are extensive and very well-done, and the fireplace, kitchen, and giant dining room table were perfect gathering spaces. We didn't get to use the front porch much since it was cold, but it looked like a perfect spot for nicer weather. We also look forward to coming back again in the summer when we can take the kayaks out! There lots of good hiking and cute towns nearby, and the Empire State Trail goes right by, with a big portion under construction heading north as well. John was very responsive and the instructions on how to take care of the place were clear. We very much hope to be back soon!

My friends and I had such an amazing time at John and Regina’s beautiful house. The open-concept common space is perfect for a group of friends or family, and the bedrooms are very comfortable. The upper deck has a beautiful ambiance at night thanks to the canopy and string lights, and the huge lower deck with the hammock was perfect for reading and relaxing during the day - some friends even did yoga there! We loved using the kayaks and paddle boards, which we took out to the middle of the lake to swim, and docked on One Tree Island for some fun island time. If you do this, make sure you secure the oars well! We lost one - sorry John - the replacement is on its way though!
