**** WE ARE ON A GOLF COURSE! WE CANNOT CONTROL IF GOLF BALLS ENTER OUR PROPERTY! **** We have surveillance cameras on the property to insure property and guests safety. There are 2 outdoor cameras that face each door on the decks and a door bell camera that covers the driveway. There is an indoor camera that is portable and kept in our locked area, The indoor camera is only hooked up when the house sits empty. **** Fall 2021/Spring 2022 we remodeled the great room, downstairs bathrooms and first story flooring! Constructed in the Old Nags Head style of the 'unpainted aristocracy,' this house, known to friends and family as 'The Buckeye Beach Inn,' is filled with surprising amenities. Featuring a pool larger than the ones at most hotels on the Outer Banks and multiple expansive decks. The perfect family getaway. We are proud to be offering it as a vacation rental! There is off street parking for 6+ cars. A detached garage serves as a pool room and bar, complete with flat screen tv, casual sitting, pool table, and bathroom. This means you can have tons of fun without worrying about waking anyone up! The huge, sprawling, multilevel deck overlooking the golf course surrounds the house and ascends to the massive swimming pool on the lower level. There is plenty of outdoor seating (four picnic tables with umbrellas), chairs and loungers. The pool is completely private and sheltered from the wind by an outer wall. We have two outside showers, one enclosed, and one on the pool deck. In addition, there is a charcoal grill. The main level of the house is a large open floor plan with kitchen, dining area, and den with two sofas and large flat screen tv. Three of the four bedrooms and two baths are also on this floor. Two bedrooms feature queen beds, one bedroom features a pyramid bunk (one twin, one double). There is also a small office area with desk, perfect for surfing the web with our free wi-fi. Up a small flight of stairs is a second large den with dining area and wet bar. Off to itself, it's the perfect place to put, or escape from, the kids. This room has two sofas, a 42 inch flat screen, and dining table. The master suite is located above this area on its own private floor, accessible via spiral staircase. This spacious room, with king bed and flat screen tv, has a private balcony with ocean and golf course views. It's the perfect place to sit at the end of the day with a beverage, or to watch the sunrise over the ocean if you are an early bird. This room also has its own bath.

The house was great! Very well kept and clean, nice appliances and furniture, and a great amount of space for the cost! The pool was also extremely nice and was very well utilized. The only thing I would suggest is to rent a golf cart or expect to drive to the beach as the walk would be very far with chairs/cooler/umbrella. It is a 5 minute drive.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The highlight was the pool! Maybe consider replacing the mattress in the one bedroom, not very comfortable. Overall we would not hesitate to rebook this property in the future.

Check was very easy. I received an email with all my information prior a day or 2 before our stay. Overall the house was nice and comfortable. Pool was fantastic. We took our 5 month old grandson so the highchair and pack 'n play was great. We had 2 and a half families. A sofa sleeper would have been nice as my 16y/o nephew slept on a couch. There was air mattresses available that I didnt see until getting ready to leave and would be a great option. The cabinets are well stocked with cooking options and utensils but kind of lacked storage for food. The game room was nice and had lots of puzzles and games. The favorite was the asteroids game. Location was good. Walkable to the beach if you don't mind a little walk. Very nice and quiet. We would book again if traveling back to OBX.

We really enjoyed the pool and location of the house! It was just a short drive to the beach and was close to everything you might need- groceries, restaurants, etc. Check-in and check-out were simple.

House had everything going for it, except that we may have been the first family for the season! The mold and mildew were overbearing!!!!! We had to purchase damp rid and air fresheners for every room to breathe. The coffee filter had inches of mold inside the coffee area. The refrigerator smelled like an old fish! Replaced the baking soda, dumped all the ice and it still smelled! Opened all the windows to help with smell. My daughter is 30 weeks pregnant had to leave early due to the smell. We left the house smelling 100 times better than when we checked in. If you don't have any internet channels you can access, the tvs are useless. The management person did not help with the process either.

Our family and friends had a great time at this property. The pool was great for after the beach and was twice as big as the usual smaller pools around the OBX. Well definitely be back :)

This place was great! It was clean and the pool was huge! Some of the rooms are a little tight, but it worked perfect for our 9 people.

Super easy people to communicate with. Allowed my friend to have their emotional support dog in the house. Awesome pool. Feels safe and secluded, a lot of fun activities in the garage like pool and darts. House was basically perfect if you’re looking for a nice chill place to hang with pals.

Very nice house for group
We had 6 adults, and all said there is plenty of room if we had more. Hangout rooms are spacious with TV in every room. Big deck and room around the pool. And the garage is a nice bonus.
Well stocked kitchen. Location is very convenient to everything.

Family vacation
Buckeye Beach Inn did not disappoint! This is our third stay and we absolutely love it. This house has something for everyone and the pool is AWESOME! We will definitely stay here again.

Nice house, great location, amazing pool!
My family rented the house for the week. Two adults, five kids. Was allowed to check in an hour early which was super convenient. House had plenty of room for our family. Updated kitchen and family room were very nice. Bedrooms had ample room. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were on the small size. Enormous outdoor deck space. Game room was great, especially the pool table. Large pool was the centerpiece however. Kids loved it. Could walk onto the 3rd fairway at Seascape Golf Links from the backyard. Property Mgr was extremely attentive and helpful to any questions we had. We enjoyed every minute during our stay and would highly recommend this property to other large families with kids. Would absolutely stay here again next year. Thank you for allowing my family to make many memories at your home.

We had a wonderful family vacation the pool table in the garage was a hit.
The pool was perfect. The house was just the right size for what we needed.
Overall it was a great getaway place for family or friends.

Check in was great! We were allowed to check in 1.5 hours prior to initial time so that was great! The main house was clean. We did find a very dirty mattress cover with debri under the sheets of the king bed and ripped pillows that had stuffing coming out of it. There was a rolled up dirty sock under one of the downstairs bedrooms. We were not informed of the 4 security cameras located on the property. I feel the one at the front door and towards the driveway were acceptable. However after a few days into our stay we became aware that there were others. One at the patio area and the other on the pool. These are both audio and video and can be seen live or in short play back clips. I feel that was a complete invasion of our personal privacy, especially since we were not aware prior to booking to check in. The manager did allow us unplug two of the 4 cameras. However, we were not able to delete the videos already saved into the system. I am not sure if it’s in any relation to me giving out my card information while on the phone while on the deck or not but my card was compromised during our stay with over $2000 of unauthorized charges. I do not recommend any younger children at the house until the register covers are fixed as my son cut his leg on one of the broken ones. As mentioned in other reviews, be careful of wood splinters while on the decks. Pool was a great addition and the location was great! We also enjoyed the stocked cupboards and appliances. An an empty cupboard or two would be convenient for groceries but we managed. We enjoyed our time in Outer Banks but will not be coming back to this beach house again. If you do decide to book a stay here, you may not want to go skinny dipping in the pool or have personal/private conversations, unless you don’t mind the owners having access to live and recorded video of you 24/7 during your stay.

We found the house clean and as advertised. The pool was fantastic although the deck needs some attention. Liz was very attentive to all our questions and we would definitely return.

However, this was probably the least attractive VRBO property we have ever stayed in. I told the property manager that I would fire the property owner if s/he was my client. It seems obvious that the owner is using this house as a cash cow and is putting in very little effort or money into trying to attract repeat guests. While the house was supposed to have had a deep clean in May, it was clear that did not happen. One cabinet with pots and pans was so filthy I cleaned it myself, as well as all the pots and pans. A previous guest complained about no closet/hooks in the room with the bunk bed. There still are none so there is no place to hang clothes. At least put up some hooks. More importantly, the room should not even be listed as a bedroom. It has no window and houses the furnace/air conditioning unit - screened off only with mini blinds and a flimsy curtain. The upholstered furniture in the two living rooms is shot. You can literally feel the wooden frame on the sofas/loveseats. It was probably cheap to begin with and has far outlived its life span. The pool table room is a garage that has great potential, but is pretty disgusting. It is hot and smells bad. The saving grace was the pool which is big and deep and well maintained by a very nice pool guy, but the deck chairs are flimsy and cushions are old and rotted. The decking around the pool is old, splintery and even has some nails popping through. The outdoor shower could be a nice feature, but it needs a thorough cleaning with a power washer. This could be a great place if the owner invested some of his/her rent money back into it. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place. We are another family from Ohio and certainly not raised with silver spoons in our mouths, so our expectations were not high. But this is a business, and it should be run like one. I hope the owner will take heed and make the needed improvements to make this the vacation destination it deserves to be.

This was our 3rd year at the BuckEye Inn and we had a nice relaxing stay. The size of the house works well for us. We love the pool, hanging out on the deck and watching the view from the balcony.

Don't have a clear view of the golf course, but it was nice to see players go by and grab a few stray balls that ended up in the yard. This was our first time to the outer banks and the location was great. Just about in the middle of everything. 5min to many stores and beach. 15 south of Duck boardwalk, 10-15 north of Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head, and about 30-40 to Cape Hatteras or Roanoke Island.
We had a little mishap with the outdoor furniture the first day we arrived, but Liz so was quick to respond and resolve the issues. The property now has 3 brand new picnic tables and all the old pool furniture has been removed.
As other guests have stated, you can tell repairs are in progress. Wood siding and decking is slowly being replaced. Cleaning could have been a little better, but overall the place was clean. Would definitely recommend new beds on the first floor and new sofas in the family room in the very near future.

Not for us
This house is perfect for some renters, and we did enjoy our stay. The pool is fantastic! There are 2 common areas which are great too. However, we were 2 families with teenagers, and the one bedroom was so small! My kids didn’t have anywhere to put there things. The bathrooms are pretty small with very little space to put your items. If you have teenagers that spend time in their bedrooms, this might not be the space for you. Liz responded promptly and helped us with any problems we had. Like my title says, it just wasn’t a good fit for us, but could be great for other groups.

The Buckeye Beach Inn provided our group of friends with an absolutely incredible stay in Kitty Hawk. This was our first post-COVID trip where we could finally meet up and relax for the week together. This property totally lived up to the excitement from booking back in October of 2020.
From the garage, to the pool, to the deck, or in the house, the area was so spacious for our large group and we never felt claustrophobic what so ever. The weather was wonderful so many of our days started at the beach, which was a super short drive from the house to public parking and access. After the beach, we were able to relax by the pool, and then move to the garage to play games or the house and hangout.
The only problem we had with the location was the state of the deck boards and picnic tables. The wood is getting to be a bit dilapidated, but we could obviously see the deck boards that were slowly being replaced and the benches that were being repaired. We made sure to wear shoes while on the deck or go at your own risk. With the price of lumber I assume this will be a longer process, but regardless, once completed, the deck will be in prime condition.
Updates aside, 10/10 would recommend this property to large groups and people looking for a nice relaxing location very close to beach access. Definitely would look to rebook this property for future OBX trips.

The Buckeye Beach Inn provided our group of friends with an absolutely incredible stay in Kitty Hawk. This was our first post-COVID trip where we could finally meet up and relax for the week together. This property totally lived up to the excitement from booking back in October of 2020.

We have never stayed on Outer Banks for week in summer but really enjoyed our stay. House was large. Kids had their own living space. They loved the pool. Bedrooms and bathrooms were small but living areas and kitchen were spacious. Loved the out of the way location yet close to everything including beach access.

Overall nice spot
The house was nice and roomy and close to restaurants, however not really walking distance to anything. I would suggest new patio furniture and better attention to detail in cleaning the house.

The home was comfortable and location was great
We had a nice time- the home was spacious for our family and the pool was great. If the weather is great- you should spend most of your time there. Beds were comfortable and the house was “homey”- some updates could be used but overall a nice experience.

Nice little property. We were down for our sons wedding so we really didn’t spend a lot of time there. It was very convenient to the wedding venue.
