This updated 2 bedroom, one bath vintage island cottage is located in the historic Kings Terrace Subdivision and situated on a large .33 acre lot. Sammy's has a large back deck perfect for sipping afternoon cocktails while enjoying the beautiful live oak trees and wonderful island sunsets. The nicely furnished living room has a 48" flat screen HDTV with an upgraded cable package and plenty of seating for you and your family! The Master Bedroom and Guest Bedroom each have 32" flat screen smart TVs and very comfortable bedding. Your doggie will enjoy the roominess of this cottage as well as access to plenty of walking trails in the area. Sammy's Cottage is in a great location - less than one mile to the main Pier & Village area and less than 2 miles to the best beach access points! It’s the perfect location for riding the many miles of biking trails waiting for you. Don’t forget to look for the SSI Tree Spirits hiding all over the island! Sammy’s Cottage is the perfect dog-friendly cottage located at 217 Anguilla Avenue on beautiful St. Simons Island. CHECK IN: 4:00 pm CHECK OUT: 10:00 am • Any group gatherings and events at this property are limited to the number of occupants (6 persons). • Dogs are welcome at this property for an additional pet fee per pup. • Parking is available for 2 cars in front of the cottage •1.9 miles to Coast Guard Station Public Beach Access, 3/4 mile to Pier Village Minimum age to rent is 25. This little cottage nestled into a wooded neighborhood was perfect for what I needed to do for the week. Convenient to the pier. Was able to make it like home for a week of a combination of work and fun. Everything was comfortable, and although there are neighbors, it still felt like there was plenty of space (nice back porch and backyard). It is very close to the airport, which might bother some folks, but the noise was only sporadic and as a former military member, it didn't bother me. Really enjoyed my stay, and as always, Real Escapes did a fantastic job with all of the administrative communications to make check in and check out very easy.

My fiancé, parents and I had a wonderful weekend in the cottage and bopping around the island. We're getting married in SSI in December and this was the perfect location to get around everywhere quickly, and a comfortable home to come back to after days of meetings and decision making. It was dog friendly and our pups loved getting to explore the island with us. Thanks!

Perfect
We had such a great time in St Simons. The house was very comfortable, beautifully decorated, and convenient to everything we wanted to do. Communication was prompt and polite, and the check in/out process was very easy. We would go back and I don’t say that about everywhere I stay!

We had a wonderful time staying at Sammy's Cottage last week. We just had a few nit picking things happen. Like our first evening there the smoke detector starting going off in our bedroom atpund 1am scared us out of our sleep. We hadn't used the microwave, stove or anything that evening also. Second, the water pressure is the bathroom shower was alittle slow. Sometimes I felt like all the soap wasn't getting out of my hair. Lastly, the bee's nest under the front porch awning. Not a problem it's nature I was just worried being allergic. Other than those few little things we very much enjoyed our stay.

Great little house.....but....
We did enjoy our stay at Sammy's cottage this past week. First the positives....it was a great location and we loved having our pup be able to stay with us during our vacation. The house was very comfortable and easy to stay in....the beds were very comfortable! A couple of negatives....it wasn't that clean. The bathroom rugs had poo on them (disgusting) and when I picked them up to move them to the washer there was poo all under them all over the floor. If the house was "clean" the housekeepers would have caught that FOR SURE! It honestly looked as though the bathroom just got overlooked entirely, and seeing as there was just one of them, I kinda find that hard to accept. In todays day and time.....bathrooms need to be very clean!! I also tried to contact the rental agency and got a never ending ringing and automated message that they were 'busy'. I even left a message for someone to call me and NO ONE EVER called.....now that is unacceptable! If we make the effort to call and leave a message saying to please call us back then we need assistance, and yes I needed assistance, and I definitely felt like I was not important enough for a response. So from that stand point, I was very disappointed. I do not want this to come back negatively on Sammy's though, again it is a great little house for folks needing a small space and pup accommodations.....and from that stand point we would pick it again!

This little cottage is very clean inside and out, that means the place inside is very clean the outside yard in the property was very clean. Do not worry about the airport runway. Very minimum of traffic of planes and inside we very seldom even heard anything. Overall this place was clean very comfortable and fit our needs. Cooking where loads of everything. Towels toiletry everything you need. Above all you are five minutes away from downtown five minutes away from the closest supermarket. And when we came back the neighborhood was so quiet. it just made everything fit our needs. We have a little dog the backyard was big enough so that we could play and the backyard was very clean very well kept up. We were very comfortable while we stayed here.

Perfect location, minutes away to everything.
This little cottage is located within minutes from everything. When I first walked down I was very surprised how clean the place was and how cozy this beautiful little place was. I was concerned about the airport, but it was very quiet the whole week I was there. Outside I heard some planes but not that loud. The yard was very clean and kept up the house was very well kept up. Check-in was just a few blocks down the road where we picked up the key the transaction on picking up the key was quick and easy. You don't need to worry about anything in the house lots of cookware, lots of towels lot extras all away around. We were very comfortable while we stayed here. We are hoping to rent this place next year and hope to bring my mom. The neighborhood was in a very good location very quiet, and clean neighborhood. Five stars I rather stay here then in a hotel recommended.

Cute Cottage but the Mold/Mildew/Algae are HUGE issues
I'm writing this review to help the next guest/s & to explain my rating above regarding "Cleaniness" ~ The 1 star in no way is a reflection of the cleaning service with the interior of the cottage, it was clean, everything looked nice, just as the photos show, but, the mold/mildew/musty smell almost knocked my husband & I over when opening the front door. It was the most severe we have ever encountered & my husband has been in the real estate business for over 35 years, in warm humid climates. Mold/mildew/algae can be a health hazard real quick if not addressed. That's why my husband encourages his sellers who have a basement or a crawl space especially to have their ceiling fans going to prevent any mold spores from settling in carpets, etc. while also helping with that smell. You don't always see evidence of growth but you can definitely smell it. There needs to be proper & continual ventilation & possibly a dehumidifier going at all times & that was just not the case inside Sammy's cottage. All the windows had a thick coating of algae, mold & mildew growing on the outside of the glass & window frames, & on the outside not inside of the cottage. The front porch & deck as well as the windows really need a good pressure washing with mold/mildew specific cleaner. With the house having a small crawl space where sunlight cannot get to it to properly dry out the dampness & with all the rains recently we feel that more than likely mold is growing under the house. Everyone can have health problems resulting from breathing mold/mildew/algae but especially those of us with severe allergies, asthma & other lung conditions. Unfortunately we could not stay at Sammy's Cottage & Real Escape Property Management was very understanding & helpful in relocating us to another property. It made us aware that if this property had not been managed by a rental company with other properties we would have been in BIG trouble! We are very grateful to Real Escape Properties! And would definitely rent from them again.

Nice little place!
The property was very nice but we didn’t realize we were on the back side of the runway strip for the airport. The constant taking off and landing of the planes kept our dog terrified. But the home and the cleanliness was great! You couldn’t ask for a cleaner more comfortable rental. Plenty of towels wash clothes and anything you needed.

So cozy! Everything you need to set up housekeeping for the week. In a quiet, friendly neighborhood. Nice big, back yard. Very clean and a super comfy bed! Wonderful customer service too! This property is located behind the airport which is why I gave location a 4. It's not too bothersome, but I'm mentioning it for someone who may not want to be so close.

Cute Little Cottage
Cottage was lovely and beautifully decorated. It contained all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. We didn’t cook but it appeared there was adequate cookware and even the basic staples (oil, S&P, etc..) to get you started. The beds were comfy, plenty of towels and beach gear. I would maybe include a cooler for future tenants. The only drawback to the house was the yard is NOT fenced in as the pictures lead you to believe. That was a bit of a hassle since we had our dogs with us and the house is located on a busy street. Other than that, perfect!

Friends who come to SSI yearly convinced us to try it. We loved the island, the Pier Village, beaches, and, of course, the restaurants.we chose Sammy’s Cottage because we had our 12 year old Golden Retriever, Roxanne, with us. Th3 Cottage was clean, comfortable, and close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. About .7 miles. I would say the only downside was proximity to the airport. When some of the jets took off, it was fairly loud. But after a while, the sound of the planes went unnoticed.
