The private room with its bathroom in an apartment close to the historic center of the city. Very convenient location in a quiet place: 10 minutes walk to the city's old part, 25 minutes to the central train station. The room is small but comfortable and clean.
The very friendly hostess met us near the apartment, showed us the apartments, told us how to get to the sights of the city, answered all our questions, and recommended where to eat deliciously. She also personally served a delicious breakfast in the morning.
The property definitely deserves the highest value-for-money rating and the best recommendation.

Stefania had saved us a car park when we arrived at the agreed time. The location of the apartment is approximately a 5 minute walk from the edge of the main tourist area but it is quiet. The room is very comfortable and Stefania provides a lovely breakfast with local goodies provided. Stefania provided us with a map and highlighted the main attractions which were within walking distance. Stefania is a proud resident of Matera and as such is a strong ambassador for her unique but beautiful city.

Ottima posizione a pochi passi dal centro. Parcheggio gratuito nei pressi del B&B. Gentilissima Bruna che ci ha fatto sentire a casa accogliendoci al mattino con un ottimo cornetto e cappuccino.

Posizione perfetta, a due passi dal centro con possibilità di parcheggiare gratuitamente. La camera spaziosa, tranquilla e pulitissima, letto comodo(avevo prenotato una stanza più piccola e mi è stata data una più grande allo stesso prezzo) La Sig.Bruna ci ha accolto gentilmente ,offrendoci una cartina della città e spiegandoci l'itinerario per poter visitare i maggiori luoghi di interesse. La consiglio vivamente a chi vuole trascorrere dei momenti sereni a Matera.

Servizio, accoglienza,staff e pulizia rasentavano la perfezione in ogni aspetto!
Non è colpa della struttura, ma la zona a primo impatto non sembrava delle migliori. Tuttavia si è rivelata essere comunque una zona super strategica dove alloggiare!

We had 6 nights at Donna Gina. Our room was good but the superstar was our host Bruna who was so friendly, fun and helpful and looked after us in every way. The B&B is a few minutes walk to the south side of the sights of the Sassi. Parking was easy in the courtyard for the flats where the B&B is located. Breakfast is very good and plentiful. It was clean, close to the old Matera part of the city. Excellent view from the roof to all Matera. The lady which accommodate us was very polite and give us very good hospitality. WiFi was incredible fast -430mbps. Rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

Wonderful friendly welcome from our host, with clear information on what to see in the area. Very well appointed accomodation. Free parking a bonus.

Bruna really makes every effort to look after you and ensure you make the most of your stay. The room was simple but comfortable. Breakfast was nicely adjusted to what we wanted, given that due to covid standard breakfast cannot be provided. The area is quiet and surprisingly close to the historic old town. Lovely view from the rooftop terrace.
The noise from other rooms is heard clearly.

Very friendly owner, extremely clean and comfortable room with very comfortable bed, quiet location a short walk away from the core of the city centre. Bruna left two small bottles of prosecco, some bottles of water and juice all for free in the fridge. Although breakfast is good, it is typically Italian, so almost everything is sweet and the choice is limited. We much prefer when breakfast includes eggs, meat, cheese, toasted bread and fresh fruit. Free parking is available in the housing complex parking lot.
The apartment is newly decorated with taste, clean and comfortable, but it is located in a larger housing complex with many apartment blocks. Not the most appealing visually and the address can be difficult to find, but someone will meet you in the parking lot if you call ahead with your arrival time.

Comfy, big and nice room. The owner was amazing; super nice and gave us insider tips. Yummy breakfast. We highly recommend Donna Gina.
