Amazing Panoramic Gulf Views-120 Steps to Beach- Huge Deck- Large Beautiful Home
About this house rental
Situated in Surfside Beach, this lovely house for $387 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. You will love this serene slice of paradise only 120 steps from the sea. Kismet has plenty of room for your whole family to relax! Kismet offers over 1,700 square feet of newly remodeled space on 2 floors. There are 3 bedrooms - all with new furniture, new linens and 40-inch flat-screen TV's, 3 bathrooms, and 2 large living areas (50 inch TV’s), a well-equipped kitchen, and a kitchenette in the second living area. Of course, WiFi is included, along with Roku streaming for each room. A large deck surrounds 2 sides of the house and is furnished with charcoal grill, large dining table, outdoor sectional, coffee table, and an additional small pub table. The deck boasts panoramic gulf views and cool gulf breezes. Relax on the large sectional and listen to the waves roll in, as you enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail. The living area features a very comfortable sectional sofa, coffee table, end tables, wood-burning fireplace, and large picture window with a beautiful unobstructed gulf view. There’s nothing between Kismet and the sea except grassland and the beach. At Kismet, we don’t lug gallons of drinking water up long flights of stairs. Kismet features a whole house water filtration system with an additional reverse osmosis filtration system for drinking water and ice. This is very important on this part of the Gulf, as the public water is well water (non-potable) it is normally recommended that residents and guests drink only bottled water and haul in ice. The kitchen, with tile countertops, is very well equipped: including a coffeemaker, blender, toaster, glasses, dishes, wine glasses, utensils, brand new pots & pans, waffle maker, grill tools, crab pot, etc. Appliances include a glass stovetop, oven, microwave, stainless steel refrigerator with reverse osmosis filtered water/ice door dispenser and dishwasher. Upstairs there is a master suite and a second bedroom. The first has a sumptuous king size memory foam bed appointed with luxury linens (including down alternative mattress topper and duvet), large bathroom, plenty of storage space, and a 40" HDTV TV. The second bedroom has an equally lavish queen size bed, a 40" HDTV, and is adjacent to a second full bath. The ground floor has an additional large living room with a 50" HDTV TV, and 2 days beds that each convert easily to king beds. There is also a kitchenette with a sink, fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. The large bedroom has a king bed, 40 inch HDTV, dresser, and small sitting area. The downstairs bathroom has a double sink and an attached enclosed indoor/outdoor shower. The ground floor can be accessed either by a spiral staircase indoors, or french doors leading to the outside. This makes Kismet uniquely accessible for your older relatives. High-quality linens, towels & beach towels are provided at NO ADDITIONAL FEE. Surfside Beach Registration #10374

The location was fabulous just a quick walk over the decking to the beach on a neighborhood street. The home was very clean but is also very old and outdated, they call it "rustic". The beds were very comfortable. The downstairs bathroom is more like an outhouse and had the 11 year old crying because she fell down late at night. Was told there was a K-cup machine downstairs (so I brought my K-cups) but there was not. Had to go upstairs to use the Kuerig which refused to accept my "non-kuerig" k-cups so I had to go buy some on Christmas. We were there for 4 days and lost the internet service for 48 hours of that time which because it's winter and we couldn't be outside much, that was a bummer.

Great location right off the beach. Long beach walks in either direction. We were able to cook a fairly large and involved meal with the provided kitchenware. The Seahorse Bar and Grill is also a very short walk away along the beach. Open line of communication with the property management through the VRBO app. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Ok I have very mixed feeling about this place, let me just start off by saying the place is nothing like true picture it is a house that is completely falling apart, ran down. There is zero water pressure and the overall layout of the house is plain weird. There are random steps all over the place and just not convenient. One of the bathrooms upstairs only had scorching hot water, the other one was dirty hair all over the place when we arrived and a sandy substance that wasn’t actual sand just nasty. There is creepy doors that say private on them that don’t open, the downstairs area is cute but the bathroom is an outhouse with a old tub that has junk inside. The water smells like sulfur but it’s tolerable, what is not is the water pressure. The carpet upstairs is disgusting and has spots everywhere, now before you say it’s a beach house for the price I would think the cleanliness of this place would make up for the run down state of the house. I had a toddler 2 year old with me and I just didn’t feel safe with him running around he could fall at any moment in one of the many random steps all over the house.
Now to the good and why I had mixed feelings, the view and location is absolutely amazing we woke up in the morning and it was like looking at a painting with the ocean directly in front of you, the. A very short walk to the beach and that part of the beach was absolutely gorgeous, would I stay there again yes but only for the location and the view.

The first time we stayed at this property was during spring break. The weather was nice, but the water was rather cold. This year our grandkids requested to go to this beach house, but in the summer. We had a marvelous time and brought back tons of fun memories. Thank you Kim and Meri, for sharing your home.

Fabulous location - view out to the Gulf with no houses in front of you. Surfside is a great off season town to visit, but it is growing so be sure to ask about any known construction around the house. Any questions and the best property manager ever , JJ, is right there with the answer! The beds and living space are quite comfortable . Some of the living spaces have been updated, others such as the downstairs bathroom are more rustic. If you are planning to work from here be aware that the Wi-Fi is very inconsistent. Could be the location, could be the older router.
We enjoyed our time here.

We had the best week. Great location, super clean. The owners thought of everything and were quick to respond when I had a question. Very roomy and the beds were soooo comfortable.

Kismet is located in a convenient location near beach access road, restaurants, and stores. The liquor store is on the same street and we could get beer, water, & ice. The restaurants are just a short golf cart ride. The beach is just a short walk over the bridge. We liked that kismet was spacious for several families. Having the downstairs ‘efficiency type’ apt with half bath was nice. Although, the guest had to come upstairs to shower. The outdoor shower is a plus.
It had just rained in Surfside and the house is located near the dunes, so the mosquitoes were atrocious! We couldn’t sit outside and enjoy the view at all. The porch is not covered so the rain or sun just beams down on you.
We traveled with an infant and toddler. The inside staircase is winding and not safe for young children but the staircase seems to be common in the Surfside homes. The kitchen faucet needs to be fixed or changed. Water splashes every! We could have used more kitchen and bath towels as well. With the moisture in the air your towels don’t dry when you hang them up.
We arrived in the late evening. We would have liked if the air and lights would have been turned on for us upon arrival. When we couldn’t get in the lockbox I sent a Vrbo message and immediately the owner called me and said we were using the wrong lock box. There was a realtor box at the downstairs door and the renter box was at the upstairs door. I appreciated the call!
Overall, this home is an older home, but accommodated our family with space. We enjoyed our weekend stay during the mid season!

On behalf of my family and I I am writing this review this house as advertised is not what it seems !!!! when you get there in person the property is extremely old rusty and shabby looking there’s no front picture of the house when advertised so when you get there and you see the property it’s absolutely disappointing there were roaches, bugs and even rat holes we found cockroach in the pillowcase one of the shower only had hot water it was tormenting to shower especially for the kids we had to shower with the hose downstairs in the open front of the house The second audit downstairs of the house was OK but the toilet and bad downstairs was absolutely horrible scary to say the least the flooring on the deck was protruding and there are unstable railings for kids to even be outside I had to move the chairs to block the railing to prevent any accidents most definitely will never run this property again for future renters be careful with what is advertise what you see is not always what you get sad to say.

Great location. House is cute but rustic. I wouldn't want very small children to stay there. Adults and older kids only. Very clean. Kitchen was very well stocked. We had a blast staying here.

Property was nice and clean. The TV in one of the rooms did not work. Bathroom upstairs had no cold water. Outside of the house could use a fresh coat of paint. Other then that we had everything we needed, it was spacious, and the location was perfect. Property manager was great and even contacted us about a pillow that had been left behind. Thank you for letting us stay at your beach house.

At first I was like oh geez what did I get us into but I was pleasantly surprised when I went inside and got all settled in. First, the downstairs was awesome for our young adults. Great place for them to hang out and watch movies and play games in the evenings. All three sitting spaces on the deck were used nightly. It is convienent that the grill is out on the deck as well. Upstairs we were please to find a little nook windown with a tiny bed perfect for our family member of under 5ft tall. She loved it. Bedrooms are small but the beds are amazing to say the least. Best bed in a rental ever!!! Kitchen is small galley and hard to work if there are more than 2 people but I am a Chef by profession so I planned extensive cooking. House has great cookware and plenty of everything else you would need. We did have some trouble with water pressure but I always expect that whenever we go to the beach. Awesome place, loved it!

Omg terrible vacation house.
First off before we get into the house we were charged too much on my card for deposits and cleaning fees that I didn’t agree to. Second we did not receive entry instructions as promised by host .when we arrive to the home we had to make phone calls and wait for some lady to come open the door. Then as we gain entry we noticed a mold smell and house was dusty and not very clean.. after about an hour my sons ashma started acting up. At this point we went outside on the patio for most of the night and debated on getting a refund. The next day we tried opening the downstairs window for air and the whole thing fell out. Then my dauter cut her hand on it. There was rust everywhere and around windows. To make it worst the host is not giving my deposit back because they had to clean a little bit. Remember I didn’t agree to a deposit in the first place. It automatically charged me this. I also have already paid a cleaning fee and paid insurance fee . I not only demand my deposit back but I think refund for the total amount . I don’t ever leave reviews but I don’t want anyone else to go through this.

Had a wonderful time, being so close to the beach access was great and the 3 bathrooms was perfect for our family.
Like other reviews stated, the railings on the balcony are not pet or child friendly, which meant we couldn’t bring our toddler to sit outside with us. It would be an easy fix to add lattice guards or a safer railing and if that was done, it’d be almost perfect for families! Another idea might be to add a permanent baby gate to the top of the interior spiral staircase as well.
